Tropical Freeze had a really good soundtrack, but I just don't think David Wise was able to top his old tracks like Fear Factory, Lockjaw's Saga and Rockface Rumble. Although the new main theme is the best yet.
Pretty good soundtrack, won't lie, but I don't think it's better.

It is nice, great, and all.. sadly many great songs from the Nes/Snes era were made exclusively for them, so we never got the chance to know how the songs would be if the consoles had more horsepower/better sound chips.

Northern Hemispheres from DKC1 is burnt into my mind since I was a kid just because of how damn much the level intimidated me coupled with that track, and that fucking blizzard. The track just epitomizes the unforgiving cold North.

For real, Snow Barrel Blast did NOT fuck around. It was a long as fuck level to boot, I don't think I ever intentionally hit that shortcut barrel either, it was always on accident when I missed the shot.

It was one of my first SNES games and thats how it always worked out for me as a kid.
I did go back eventually and beat it without the shortcut but the final barrel section was very long and unforgiving. Probably one of the toughest parts of the entire game.

Falcom's soundteam are composed of wizards desu, not only did they pioneer advancing vidya music beyond bleeps and bloops but they've constantly released nothing but 10/10 soundtracks too.

If you have to, get a vita instead of the PS3 solely because PS3 has no games and vita is probably the best JRPG console of all time, you can play a bunch of the old classics and a lot of new JRPGs on it.

I don't really like playing on hand helds and PS3 has a few games I want to play anyway. Most of the vita games I would want to play ended up on PC already.
Kinda annoyed I'll have to get a PS4 for CS3 but they will be dirt cheap after the PS5 anyway.
