>Nintendo fans hate Majora's Mask because it's the "Zelda game for people who hate Zelda" because it's different and unconventional.
>but they love Breath of the Wild even though it's less Zelda than Majora's Mask and plays more like a far-cry clone with survival elements and weapon breaking and 4 dungeons.
Really fires the neurons...
Nintendo fans hate Majora's Mask because it's the "Zelda game for people who hate Zelda" because it's different and...
>different
It's the same garbage as OoT, just with a time limit.
>BOTW is a good game
>MM is a huge pile of shit
Yet it's too complicated for you to understand, huh.
Explain why MM is a huge pile of shit without providing criticism that applies to BotW. The criticism must be true and actually applies to the game.
Protip: You can't.
Majora's Mask emphasizes NPCs too much for me. I don't care about the side characters in Zelda very much and never have.
Opposite for me, I wish more Zelda treated their characters like in MM. To me, Link and Zelda aren't interesting enough on their own.
Majora's Mask also has 4 dungeons.
Yeah but it has four good dungeons, and also the best dungeon in the series, unlike BotW
>Breath of the Wild even though it's less Zelda
Doesn't BOTW also have 4?
MM was just too far ahead of its time.
Most of the people criticizing it, haven't actually played it.
This.
I would count Link to the Past as well though.
Yes my sword degraded in a few hits, I scavenged for food to cook with, my ears were treated to a 10 year old banging on a piano and most importantly I was able to run to and kill Ganon as soon as I loaded in.
>Nintendo fans hate Majora's Mask
No?
>So bootyblasted after getting BTFO yesterday
>Point out hypocrisy
>"lol ur mad"
k
People love MM. The 3DS version alone sold more than 3 million times. People just hate fedora wearing sperglords who think that MM is more than a good game. It's not a piece of art. It's not groundbreaking. It's just a good game in a series with many even better games.
MM sold like shit and is more unpopular than it isn't.
really fires the neurons.
I hated the 3ds port of majora's mask for ruining the first masked boss so hard
he went from being imposing to having a goofy looking weak spot
I think Majora's Mask is one of the best Zelda titles ever made. I'm also enjoying the hell out of Breath of the Wild. So what was your argument again?
The argument is that people like you are in the right because you're not a hypocrite.
Meanwhile everyone posting about how MM is shit but BotW is good ITT are retarded
>MM sold like shit
Selling 3 million in those days was definitely not "shit" especially considering it came out the same year as the PS2
You must have very few neurons.
>more unpopular than it isn't.
what did he mean by this?
It wasn't groundbreaking, but the game absolutely nailed the atmosphere. Despite being in a world full of people, the game succeeded in an eerie end-of-the-world loneliness. But all those NPCs gave a butt-tone of sidequests. Ocarina of Time, on the other hand, was super straightforward Zelda formula. Aside from mini-games, there were really any sidequests. Introducing a plethora of sidequests is where Majora's Mask innovated for the Zelda series.
Nintendo fans hate Majora's? I'll admit im a Nintendo fanboy, and ive seen only absolute praise of majors mask in our circles. granted I think it might just be because it's edgy...
>Nintendo fans hate MM
citation needed
majora's mask was a shitty zelda
>getting mad about an opinion that virtually no one has
No. OP is just being a humongous faggot as usual.
Somebody give this man a cigar!
is that why it got a remake? because people hate it? I don't see a oracles remake.
Im sure nintendo already gave him .03 dollars for his post
>dislike MM back when I emulated it, never bothered to continue after the second dungeon
>currently loving 3D
What happened?
MM isn't the "least Zelda game" you absolute fucking moron.
Nintendo would never approve of anybody shitting on a bunch of roms they're planning to re-sell a thousand more times.
you like being handheld
>hate OoT
>like MM
>like WW
>like TP
>hate SS
>like the 2D top-down games from the NES thru Gameboy
>don't even want to find out how much I'll hate BotW
Really beggars some pondering...Could it be that taste is highly subjective and a bunch of manchildren from Tumblr and Sup Forums don't have a stranglehold on dictating what is good and what is bad?
>garbage
Literally no Zelda ever made (by Nintendo) is.
>taste is subjective meme
>when popular opinion exists
Is there a more disrespectful and socially irresponsible opinion to have?
>Development studio puts together a game with no passion and don't take the effort to polish or add nuance because their publisher paid them to do so. It lacks any sort of substance and arguably the only appeal is the escapism you get from playing it.
>but you find it fun so it's okay to support this publisher and development studio
>Development studio puts together a passion project that they tried to secure funding for for years and wrote an all new engine and have a deep understanding of each facet in the medium such as the art direction, sound direction, writing, and most importantly: gameplay. In addition to all of that, it incorporates themes of spirituality and symbolism that are expressed solely through gameplay because they respect that the medium is one driven by gameplay.
>But you didn't find it fun so it's bad.
really grinds my gears desu
>Having problems with Odolwa, even when you can shoot the nigga with the bow or use the deku flower conveniently placed in the middle of the room
No user, you just suck
Taste being subjective doesn't mean that all games have equal merit, not only is that incredibly unfair and disrespectful to developers who put effort into their games by putting them on the same level with chinese bootleggers, but you're also missing the point of the statement:
What you like and dislike is more a statement on you than it is a statement on the game.
Meaning if you like shit games, sorry buddy, that just means you like shit. Nothing wrong with that, you just do.
Who the fuck care about how many dungeon are they??
Majora's mask was the best zelda game still, and Botw is the BEST Zelda game ever.
Fuck your Dungeontism
>Likes majora's mask as the second best.
>But likes BotW as the best.
Please go further in detail about your opinion as to what BotW does better than MM, or how BotW is better by itself than MM is by itself, or what BotW offers you that you like that MM doesn't.
No problemo.
I will tell you the 2 strong point of MM
MM main appeal for me, is the aliveness of the world, interaction with NPC ect... guess what?
They did all of that in breath of the wild but much better, you can follow anyone, they have their own routine, they may or may not give you any sidequest depending on certain external factor, they react to what you do, some will comment how you killed this ennemy or previous thing you said to them, they react to whether, have each one their own name and personnalities, some of them are traveling into hyrule and you can meet them at many place..
Ect ect..
Gameplay wise MM is pretty strong with link transformation and mask, guess what?
you have even more gameplay option in Botw, as you progress, from equipement combinaison, to just basic gameplay technique, it's much more fun, and you have so many different situation in the game, it's not even comparable.
Also i think if you really need to be persuaded, you haven't played Botw at all(or very little)or just watched some gameplay video and made your opinion. Which may not be unusual for people shitposting here.
Majora's mask was my favorite and they packed up all those element in Botw, but with MUCH more of everything else on the top of it.
I giving you that from just 25 hours of gameplay, i still have shitons to do.. By the way in 25 hours i would almost have MM 100% complete.
>Nintendo fans hate Majora's Mask
The fuck are you on about?
How does popular opinion disprove that it's subjective?
Consensus isn't objectivity, baby girl.
...
Both are shit.
MM had a terrible journey compared to the game that came before it and BotW is open world, which automatically puts it in shit tier.
OoT and TP are the only good 3D Zeldas.
But Wind Waker is better than both of them in almost every way
>I haven't play the game and need reassure myself.
all zeldas are mediocre. there.
>tfw MM was my GOAT
>tfw can't choose between MM and BotW
Pretty good.
There's Zelda made by non-Nintendo?
MM is Ocarina with less content (side quests have little to no reward).
BOTW is MM with more exploration and side quests that reward you.
Makes sense to me.
Why would you hate BotW when it's the complete opposite from Skyward Sword?
People who claim to think MM was the best but now think BotW is the best don't know why MM was the best in the first place. They're retards.
I hold them in the same regard for different reasons. Only being able to measure things by the same metric is an actual sign of autism.
>Nintendo fans hate Majora's Mask
???????
>that faggot who thinks content only counts if he's constantly getting positive reinforcement from the game that he's doing a GOOD JOB and getting a biscuit for a reward
I bet you unironically like Twilight Princess, fag
which side quests in ocarina, besides making the sword, had more payoff? the only other ones i can think of are the mask quest(s), which just do a worse job than the ones in MM.
in MM, the quest was a reward in itself. the characters felt more alive than a lot of modern day npc's with increased AI etc.
Zelda games are shit
yeah capcom
bet you feel retarded now, huh user
OoT and TP are the definition of mediocre Zelda titles
MM, WW, BoTW and LA are the good ones
>Ocarina of Time
>Mediocre
HAAH WAAW
TP is garbage though
>and also the best dungeon in the series
But at the same time it has the great bay temple which is the worst dungeon in the series
Breath of the Wild is unironically the closest game to Miyamoto's original vision that we've had in decades
it's sad that the underage Aonumafags think Zelda is about being railroaded to cutscene to cutscene since their first game was Wind Waker or TP
have you played OoT recently? it's fucking boring
>no challenge
>barely any good side content
>generic
>boring ass dungeons and there's like 3000 of them
the only thing that holds up well is the writing
>zelda 1
>you can go anywere
>secret and high level places are hidden behind some items (bombs, bridge)
>you can just fuck around the map discovering secrets
>fights are realy hard, you die realy fast
>limited suplies
>zelda BOTW
>you can go anywere
>secret and high level places are hidden behind some items (bombs, flying)
>you can just fuck around the map discovering secrets
>fights are realy hard, you die realy fast
>limited suplies
completly diferent game
>BotW is open world
SS is the only not "open world" zelda game
Zelda 1 is incredibly linear and has functional dungeons. BotW has, what, one dungeon? lol
Breath of the Wild is more like Zelda than any other 3D Zelda game, OP. The series has finally fucking returned to being open world and focusing on survival through combat.
while MM definitely has things that are interesting, it is at its core a sloppy, unpolished followup to OoT that was thrown together in 9 months. It still feels like a Zelda game, just more like a worse one all around. It's the same way I feel about Super Mario World and the game's 11 month dev cycle compared to Mario 3's 3 years.
Breath of the Wild has the dubious distinction of feeling nothing like a Zelda game whatsoever. If anything I'd compare it to Adventure of Link in terms of just how thoroughly they were willing to make something completely different and still slap the name on it.
I'm honestly really disappointed, even though my expectations weren't terribly high. I'm very happy with the amount of freedom and lack of tutorials, which KILLED both TP and SS outright. But the dungeons are utter dogshit and that is about 85% of why I play a Zelda game, and the weapon durability knocks of at least 2.5 points if not 3.5 merely by existing.
>Zelda 1 is incredibly linear
40,320 possible orders to beat the dungeons, more than any other Zelda.
Every single screen on the overworld available to you from the start of the game with the exception of two.
Every single dungeon available to you from the start of the game with the exception of two.
Swamp Palace is good, but just decently good. Ends with a cool boss.
Snohead is tedious and has crap music. I'll say it's mediocre and not outright crap simply because it has GOHT as the goddamn boss who is amazing.
Great Bay is literally the worst dungeon in the entire series and also features the absolute worst boss in the series.
Stone Tower is wonderful and actually is the best dungeon in the series, it's slightly better than Forest and Spirit temples, it really is fantastic.
Still though, Majora was an uneven game, and having only 4 dungeons with one of them being the worst in the series is not a good thing.
Did Miyamoto want me to tediously collect weapons because the weapons degrade like I'm hitting the enemies with pretzel sticks?
for fuck's sake a lot of the weapons last less long than the Deku Sticks do in OoT.
I think you're underrating OoT's influence on Zelda and 3D action adventure games in general
>literally the only items are bombs and arrows
>not even having a hookshot
why?
I mean I guess they were trying to make it close to the original Zelda or something, but it's not like most Zelda games don't always have bombs and arrows. I miss my dungeons.
>Four good dungeons.
Fuck you, stone tower was the only good one.
I rather play Forsaken Forest than swim in that retarded temple again. You have to be from another inferior dimension to like Great Bay Temple
>only 40,320 ways
linear bullshit
No, but he wanted you to tediously collect masks, go back in time and do stupid side-quests.
source: my ass
at least said masks don't break after fighting 2 enemies.
Fuck, the Razor Sword lasts longer than literally every single weapon INCLUDING THE MASTER SWORD in BotW. Fuck BotW.
