Don't mind me, just the best RPG of all time passing through.
Don't mind me, just the best RPG of all time passing through
I don't know about best rpg, but probably the best choice and consequence system in vidya.
this
>10/10 dialogue
>10/10 story
>10/10 character development
>4/10 combat
>neo-v won't play because of the combat
>USP = "your actions have consequences"
>They actually do.
based obsidian does it again.
so good but goddamn the gameplay is dreadful
Yeah, it didn't really work as an RPG that much. But like said, the choices and consequences, dialogue system and the perks you get depending on your relationship with the rest of the cast was amazing. Just a shame that the actual RPG mechanics kinda brought it down.
>neo Sup Forums knows that gameplay is all that matters
sounds good to me
Gameplay wasn't even that bad or I wouldn't be able to finish it like thrice.
The story was so good, I still don't understand it.
TURN IT UP
Cant go past the gameplay, it is legitely the worst third person i ever touched.
Best boss fight.
IIRC it's pretty much just Halbech trying to further destabilise the middle east so they can continue to sell weapons to all parties that have a stake in the conflict. I don't recall the connection between them and AP though.
>Get insta-gibbed with the ridiculous OP pistol skill
Alpha Protocol sold out to Halbech. Mina is a plant by the US Government. She engineers your "betrayal" in Saudi Arabia so you can take down Halbech and Alpha Protocol.
But why Parker and Leland worked together? Also, what exactly is the relationship between Parker and Weston?
Incorrect.
This game is a diamond in the rough never truly finished properly. Great story, great combat system even though it was ripped off of Mass Effect Wich isn't so bad since Bioware ruined the formula anyway, but glitches and AI retardation hold it back. Also
> get to final boss
>No ammo because hardest difficulty with pistols and shotguns
>Have a pistol from beginning of game in Saudi Arabia because weapons that get unlocked to buy are dictated by story choices and fuck albatross and that gay ass faction
>Fucked because no ammo pickups in final boss battle
I swear this game could of been a classic if it weren't so rushed. This is someone who has a hatred for Obsidian too because of FL:NV and KOTOR 2 being whack as fuck.
Parker fucked up. All his foresight and geopolitical predictions and he couldn't figure out that instigating the conflicts so Halbech can turn a profit selling weapons would lead to an actual world war. There's no connection between him and Mike but he's Madison's father.
What's there to not understand? Are you some kind of retarded mouth breather like Yahtzee who can't pay attention for more than 5 seconds?
Leland tried to start a new cold war so he could sell weapons, but doesn't realize that it could spark a third world war. Alpha Protocol is so secretive and its' cells are so disconnected that Halbech has managed to infiltrate them and rope them into working for him while some of them still think they're working for the government. Mina works for an organization even more secretive that's tasked with spying on Alpha Protocol and she tricks the AP into thinking that you betrayed them and trick you into thinking that they betrayed you, and used you to take them down.
The core gameplay is such utter shit I couldn't get past it despite it having seeming like a potentially interesting rpg.
Seriously, you only need to play a bad game to learn to appreciate just how good all those other third person cover shooters actually are.
By the time I beat this game I had had too much of the inane gameplay and the completely unremarkable story to start experimenting with choices ... Is that why people like this game?
love that game

I didn't like how smug the MC is
Is this the game that makes a pretty good Archer simulator if you pick all the "funny" responses?
He was only as smug as you played him.
It could have been a good game if a competent developer had been behind it instead of Obshitian.
They have never managed to release a game that wasn't broken in some game.
Gameplay was pretty bland and your character became too OP too quickly. The level design, from what I remember, wasn't all that great either, with some levels and enemy encounters being super shit.
On top of that it doesn't look all that impressive and it still has lots of bugs that cause it crash occasionally.
The story was interesting enough to warrant finishing the game, at least. So it has that going for it.
I rate it 5.5 / 10.
>They have never managed to release a game that wasn't broken in some game.
Dungeon Siege 3
Tyranny
Okay, let me rephrase it.
>They have never managed to release a potentially good game that wasn't broken in some way.
Pretty sure you could actually defeat the final boss by sneaking into his room and then punching him in the face. It's easier to do that against Leland though than it is against Westridge.
I liked it the more I replayed it, might be the most fun game Obsidian ever released
I'm about to play this for the first time, what stats are good? Is it hard to play as a recruit?
only played it once but, was it me or were pistols ungodly op?
with that cooldown I could oneshot everything in the room and still remain stealthy
Recruit is the hardest class since you have no points invested in any stats, but if you pick all the recruit dialogue options during the tutorial section of the game, you get a bunch of free skill points that help get you off to a decent start.
Stealth and pistols are by far the most OP stats once you invest enough points in them, but they're actually pretty underpowered to start with. I'd also recommend you invest a couple points into Sabotage so that the hacking mini games don't become unbearable later on.
also if you go stealth wait until after the tutorial to actually put your points into it, otherwise one of the stealth perks bugs out and remains permanently disabled
I belive there is a gem hidden somewhere inside that game. But bad controls, cheap visuals and overall feeling of just not completed game is too strong to handle.
>3D third person real time game
>can't jump
Lolno. I'm not even going to bother.
