That guy who rushes a mile ahead of the rest of the team, gets caught by a charger, then instantly leaves the game

>that guy who rushes a mile ahead of the rest of the team, gets caught by a charger, then instantly leaves the game

>that feel when too depressed to pick a game to play

>that feel when too poor to pick a game to play
>that feel when too dumb to pirate games

>that guy who releases a cool game with great potential for multiplayer longevity then rehashes it and sells a "sequel" for full price exactly a year later

>also porting all game 1 content to game 2
>then proceeds to give it away for free a little later

>that guy who rushes a mile ahead of the rest of the team, gets caught by an SI, then convinces the others to boot you for not saving him "in time"

>play versus
>first round as infected
>make one mistake
>kicked
alternately
>first round survivor
>team does very well, make it to the end with no losses
>other team leaves

>Liked the art direction of L4D more than 2
>Nobody plays 1

I don't even play versus seriously anymore, I just troll teammates with molotovs when they get incapacitated or when we're in elevators and stuff

>reach end of level
>injured so moving slower
>team rushes ahead to saferoom
>one of them shoots a car with an alarm
>no one helps me
>get swarmed and die
>kicked
This game had a fucking awful community.

expert campaign players are ok

Versus was fun the first week or so into the first game when no one knew what the fuck they were doing, but it somehow turned into the most elitist garbage I have ever seen.

A guy in versus once tried to kick me because I only had played 95 hours, he actually went into by steam profile to check this

L4D has the single worst community I've ever seen in an online game. I'm not exactly sure what makes it so uniquely cancerous but it's really fucking bad.

He doesn't leave he votekicks you like a faggot

>only play custom campaigns on expert realism
>meet a bunch of cool, friendly, skilled veterans

pretty chill community in my experience

It's because the community got hyper-competitive and you can't have that in a game with vote-kicking. I have the same problem every couple years when I try playing CS:GO again.

>make one mistake
>get kicked

>left 4 dead turn 10 this year

I hope mine's a football

It's your fault for not rushing, there is absolutely no reason to go slow in L4D2 especially in Versus. The objective of the game is to get from point A to point B, doing anything in-between like scavenging is completely arbitrary. If your teammates are slower than you that means they're usually worse than you, of course he's going to be defenseless when everybody except him is slacking off or generally unskilled.

I've played on expert and I've played on normal and amazingly, normal is way more difficult. The playerbase is both so shitty and so obnoxious that it makes what should be simplicity itself into an absolute chore. It's like the difference between a two hundred foot sprint, and a twenty foot sprint with three boat anchors tied around your throat.

>co-op game
>"hyper-competitive"

For fuck's sake. It's like those autists who try to turn super smash bros into a super serious competitive fighting game.

You know it has a versus mode right?

I like to have a full inventory, and finding laser sights is always cool

part of the fun in the game is also to find these places where the common infected can't get to you

The only thing stopping me from trying expert mode is that I've read that the common infected deal 20 damage per hit, which is insane.

This kind of shit is why I stopped playing the game seriously

Now I just hop on a 10v10 server and go full retard without worrying about the "metagame"

You should try it out with a friend some time. Your playstyle will change so much (in a good way)

Last time I tried to play this with friends (3 of us), we had a 12 year old join us and try to shit talk us because we all had less than 50 hours on the game while he had over 2000.

This was in a normal difficulty campaign.

>people play versus without friends
You're asking for trouble.

>that guy who lacks a mile behind of the rest of the team, gets caught by a hunter, then instantly leaves the game

No but seriously, L4D was one of the greatest times I had with games back when it came out.

>that feel when you're standing right by your teammates and get grabbed by a smoker, all three ignore you and run off despite you telling them what happened, then say "what's taking this noob so long" and votekick you

>get shit on and constantly kicked for not using a mic even though the game gives obvious audio cues
If you have to tell your team you got pounced or smoked, they're shit players.

left 4 dead is the game that taught me that a large number of people play video games without the sound on, or are at least drowing out the game's sound with their own music
if i had a nickel for every time i'd heard "sorry bro, couldn't hear you over my music haha" in l4d i'd be a fucking rich man

I voice chat all the time except it's with my friend over discord. Too autistic to talk with strangers.

You mean like when they hold those smash brother tournaments where teams of people win money? such children!

Yes, the same Smash kids honestly believe pic related.

I spent all my time trying to Charger survivors through windows and off ledges. I had a blast.

They aren't factually wrong, but you should definitely consider showering regardless if you're going to spend the day in public.

The host that dies first and then quits instantly

Showering every day is fine. Using shampoo/conditioner/soap in every shower is not. These people are fucking retarded.

>people who shower more than once a year
Fucking normalfags.

Well working as a chef got me into showering twice a day but i'd only shampoo once since too much actually dries the scalp.

Hi Pajeet

Unless you take part in daily activities which make you sweat a lot or get visibly dirty, there is no reason to go into a shower just for the water. The whole point of showers is to wash away oils and bacteria that build up on your skin and hair. Water by itself is gonna do very little to get rid of them.

Anyone else deal with limping/lingering survivors by just shooting them/killing them and closing the safe house doors so you can move on with the campaign?

People were slow when you played with randoms.
