Anyone?

You'll learn to play but if you use it, and only it, you'll never learn to sightread tabs or sheet music.

Youll learn, of course. But if you dont pay attention youll play super sloppy even though the gane tells you you are hitting the notes. Its a great tool, but you will need something else too to truly progress.

Its good. Dlc is expensive. 20 min a day will make you better

it's a good way to get you started and learning a couple songs

Detection of notes is fairly off, anywhere from 1 - 3 frets. Playing the game you feel like a badass, but the moment you're playing on your own its gonna sound like shit. Just get lessons m8

Dont play with headphones at the beginning.

You will play extremely sloppy. You have to hear what you do.

no the way it teaches guitar is terrible. the game only really shines when you already know how to play.
look up some beginner tutorials about proper technique on youtube and learn some tabs for songs you like. that'll get you much further in a shorter time.

What if I have no interest in playing the guitar outside of the game? How long will it take me to learn the more difficult songs?

What turned me off getting it was hearing about input lag, I'm not sure if it was fixed or not since it came out but I'd look into it before buying it OP.

Not really.

It will make you dependent on the game to play songs and unable to remember them outside the game.

>learn tabs
So another shitty and terrible way of learning guitar? May as well just play the game

why would you play it then

user do you even know what you're talking about?

You're telling me there's no way to adjust for audio/video lag like others have done for years?

>unable to remember them outside the game.
What?

If you learn a song you already remember it. The game even has a master mode were you play without any tabs, etc

Dude music is not subject to your retarded interpretations of what's the "right" way to visualize it.

So you have no interest in playing guitar but you want to learn it? Makes no sense.

Good luck trying to play a fuckfest like that youtu.be/ENvvCGfMrAw?t=5m5s

How the fuck do you see what you have to play? I mean, I know it's a difficult song, but I can't tell shit from what the game shows there.

that's why you learn how to play guitar and the song before you play the game.

Its basicly just a fancy version of tab coming directly at you.

I can play guitar (not on a Megadeth level though). Still can't tell what's going on. If you have to learn the song beforehand, then what is the point of the game?

You dont have to learn a song beforehand.

I started learning uitar with rocksmith.

You obviously have to know what the input symbols in rocksmith mean. The game has tutorials for every technique.

i don't really know. i play guitar as well and i just can't enjoy playing this game. instead i just download the tabs for a song from ultimate guitar and learn them that way until i can play along the real song.

Yeah, it has a bunch of ways to teach you the basics of guitar.
You have song mode, where it raises the difficulty depending on how many note prompts you get right
Session mode, where it teaches you things like tempo, scales, intensity, beat etc. Summed, it teaches you how to jam convincingly
Guitarcade has a bunch of ways to improve your technique. My favourite is the duck shooting game, cause I can't memorize the fretboard by muscle memory.

If you want actual music theory, you're going to have to find that out on your own. The game actually encourages you to practice beyond the computer.

One thing you might want to learn on your own is the note positions on the fretboard. It's a super simple rule: "BC EF don't have sharps but everything else does".

From personal experience, rocksmith has managed to grab my attention and teach me more than just trying to read it from books myself. Hell, now I don't even consider practicing guitar a chore.

vocaroo.com/i/s0fVBmsdfVVA Plus you can use the realtone cable for a lot of other sillyness too.

tabs are only as shitty as the player.

...

...

If you wan't to learn guitar. get lessons. If you wan't to play a game about playing guitar, get it. The game alone will not make you a guitar god.

Tabs dont teach you shit about playing guitar

That's actually pretty cool.

it lags its annoying don't bother

If it lags something isnt working correctly.

So it's like tabs, except more complicated.

Then what does?

If it makes you practice it will. The only way to become good is quality practice any way you can get it.

Wish there was a torrent of the recent DLCs already

>So it's like tabs, except more complicated.
Yes.

You can do some nice things like picking an section of a song and playing it with something like 50% speed. You can set it to automaticly speed up if you hit all notes etc. Its actually very nice to learn songs. If it works.

Plain notes don't teach you shit about guitar playing, having someone to show you does. You can't write out everything as in notes, but I only use tabs for support when I can't make out what's going on in the song. Get off your high horse fag.

if you just want Rock Band but better, you need to already know some guitar first. Get a teacher.

if you want to git gud at guitar, this is an amazing supplement to actual lessons, but you should still see a teacher occasionally.

is it available on the rockstation 3?

>playing guitar for 10 years
>still don't know my scales and any chords outside of standard and the occasional minor

>will it make me a guitar god
No. But it's VERY good to practice with. Especially for learners. It'll help with your hand-eye co-ordination and if you have your technique right you'll become better.

However, to become a 'guitar god' you'll need a teacher or just learn the theory by yourself. Also you can't just pick up rocksmith, you'll need to go for a quick guide on the net before you get started.

Whats the name of your punk band?

It's called Let's Play Guitar in a 5 Guitar Band
