What are the best weapons in the game?

What are the best weapons in the game?

Chaos +5

The one you've mastered using.

Objectively?

Black Knight halberd, then the other bk weapons

normal easily obtainable str weapons: claymore, zweihander, etc.

normal easily obtainable dex weapons: uchigatana, murakumo, rapiers (balder swag sword if you're lucky).

Everything else is god-tier or shit-tier.

Drake sword

Claymore +15

Honestly for the good amount of the beginning this is true.

Black Knight Halbred will take you to start to end. Go full STR build for it.

I've done a playthrough maining murakumo while using dark wood grain ring, and I gotta say it's not as good as you'd think for a str and dex scaling weapon, it hits pretty hard but it's a little slow to swing and being curved doesn't help its reach. I ended up using a falchion whenever murakumo was too slow.

This fucking guy. Claymore +15 is SO GOOD!

it was mathematically proven that the great scythe was the best dex weapon in the game.

best strength weapon would probably be a chaos zwei because of its stunlocking properties and big damage

Kellog's Fury Sword

i think its a lot better in dark souls 2, it has less of a windup and it gets going faster. Idk why the first swing always has to be slower than the rest. What a weird weapon.

My picks would be
>Bandit Knife, has insane bleed while also having insane crits
>Uchigatana, really good bleed with good damage
>Balder Side Sword, the best straightsword
>Reinforced Club, best weapon for soul level 1 runs
>Battle Axe, also extremely good for soul level 1 runs
>Demon's Greataxe, single highest damage in the game
>Black Knight weapons, the best weapons for straight up physical damage behind Demon's Greataxe
>Zweihander, stunlocking people whom don't know how to escape it
>Moonlight Greatsword, best intelligence weapon(in my opinion)
>Grant, best faith weapon(in my opinion aswell)

ooh I forgot about the great scythe. It's so good in dark souls 1, haven't used it enough in dark souls 2...

I used it for my occult build/Velka roleplay in dark souls 1 and I loved it. Also I like the idea of the occult upgrade path versus just "dark" in dark souls 2.

L O N G S W O R D

grant is amazing because infinite WOTG (as long you have a shit ton of repair powder) and the WOTG from the Grant also perma-kills skellies so you don't need a divine weapon for any the two skelly filled area or Nito.

any of the two*

Silver knight sword/spear was also good for skellies.

i forget why but I think one of those actually ISN'T divine for some reason. Yup (just came back from google) the straight sword isn't divine. I don't get why considering the spear IS.

Moo

Depends on PvE or PvP. Here are some that are good in both:

>Quelaag's Furysword
>Falchion
>Gold Tracer
>Moonlight Greatsword
>Black Knight Greataxe
>Gravelord Sword

>Black Knight halberd
Turns the game into a cakewalk.

THE LEGEND NEVER DIES

Apparently the Scythe, according to ''''our guy'''' Pat.

All halberds.

Great scythe

Great Club. Swing for the fences, pussy.

literally who

BKH is definitely one of the top tier weapons. I'd also say any halberd is borderline OP because the reach and moveset is so effective.

Now that you mention it I do remember that. Silver knight sword actually had a decent moveset but it was never as good as standard longsword. Definitely most aesthetic straight sword though

literally two good attacks
large club is 100x better

claymore is the endgame

...

You did need some skill for halberds though because of that stagger if you miss. (although thats more for pvp)

The scythe (not great scythe but the misnamed scythe thats actually a bardiche) was one of my favorite pvp weapons. Standard halberd was also awesome.

>nobody mentions Obsidian Greatsword
>probably because nobody was able to cut off Kalameet's tail
>most people probably don't even know it exists
Get on my levels, plebs.

Bastard Sword > Claymore

Bastard Sword in DaS has the same moveset as Claymore in DeS.

Carthus curved sword, Follower's Saber and any BK weapon(of course, the BKs take a tiny bit of skill to use).

>Standard halberd was also awesome.
I mained this on my first playthrough, it was pure bliss.

and all slash attacks, and therefore less variety.

Bastard sword was definetly an underrated weapon, very fun to use and if you're facing a less experienced player it can catch them off guard since they were so used to dealing with claymore. Ultimately the claymore is a little more versatile though because of muh pokes and that's why it was so much more popular.

Name one (1) thing it's good for that isn't Parish twinking.

Halberd +10 wrecks shit to the point I switched form my first character to my second character.

Dex ramps Halberd's up hugely.

The r2 aoe is just backstab bait, there are better ultra greatswords. Its only good against noobs

This guy knows what's up

>tfw I cut that fucker off going solo
Christ, what a pain. That said, it's not really that good, by virtue of being a dragon weapon and getting no scaling.
I was 50/50 str/dex, so claymore and halberd were my weaponfus.

>50
But why

Black Knight sword or axe are pretty good

Great Scythe is overrated. There are a lot of things that go into what makes a weapon good, raw damage output only being one of them. You also have to factor in that it's a dex weapon, so you'll need to invest a lot of points in dex for it to be good. There is also the moveset, and how quickly a weapon can swing. Halberd class weapons also have an animation if you miss that leaves you open longer than other weapons.

Great Scythe is bad at everything except damage per hit. There are weapons you can wield with lower stat point investment, better poise breakers, and weapons with better movesets than the Great Scythe. The best weapon in the game is probably Quelaag's Furysword, for its low stat investment, quick attack speed, ability to combo, and chip damage. You can get this weapon on a level 5 character and destroy people 100 levels higher. One of its only downsides is the kick being replaced with the shitty curved sword ability.

That's just one example of a weapon better than the Great Scythe. There are probably 10-20 other weapons better. People only think it's good because of a youtube video.

Overall best weapons in DkS1 (in terms of damage/speed/moveset options)

Falchion
Uchigatana / Chaos Blade
Great Scythe
Silver Knight Spear
Demon Spear / Dragonslayer Spear
Balder Side Sword
Claymore
Black Knight GreatAxe
Black Knight Halberd
Estoc

Estoc is my favorite

> Dat long range stab and huge circular sweep.

It's one of those weapons you underestimate, then you discover it.

I favour Halberd and Raw Zweihander, with Divine Claymore my weapon of choice for catacombs.

God I miss PVP

One of my favorite weapons, but one I often forget to mention, is the Obsidian Greatsword.

Bandit's Knife
Four Pronged Plow
Blacksmith Hammer

Scythe has good dead angles too, and I don't think it staggers on phantom hits so that's less of a problem.

Quelaag's furysword is good but is just a downgrade from the falchion/scimitar because of the split damage meme.

I think the stab is the main reason I coasted through Blighttown my first time. All I heard was how shit it was but using such a god tier moveset made it a breeze. Constantly poking dogs and those fucking ghouls off ledges.

The longsword has always had a place in my heart. Except in Dark Souls 2, removing the 1hr2's stab is my biggest problem with that game.

None of y'all niggas are about that Leo ring warpick meta tho

>tfw running rapier/UGS greatsword with full EK and fast roll
>still had the stats for 15 mag for strong magic shield to counter blackmagicfags
times were good

Kumo is love
Kumo is life
Kumo is death

Slashing down the Zweihander on enemies is incredibly satisfying...watching and hearing them get slammed into the ground.

Built up tons of souls quickly by easily wrecking the pseudo phalanx with it in Ariamis.

I hate how they changed the Zwei's two handed R2 to a forward stab while it was the forward slam in Dark Souls 1. Also the sound weapon slams made plus how your character looked when you did it was so badass.

My favorite build and the one that gave me the most success was a Lifehunt Scythe build with full Chester's Set and Bloodbite Ring to make the bleed build up negligible. Gimmicky, but so damn fun and yuuuge damage.

dude, mindblend, niceee.

I mainly went 50 str for Havel's shield, at that point I was already overleveled so I just said fuck it and got 50 dex too.

>Leo ring
>baller swag sword
>boink fools for 800 damage

>Quelaag's furysword is good but is just a downgrade from the falchion/scimitar because of the split damage meme.
I've had more success with Quelaag's. If you use a falchion people will usually just start parry spamming. Also, Quelaag's is much longer too. Another factor is people are actually afraid of Quelaag's because of the fire animation. That might seem silly but it seems like it makes people panic.

Channeler's trident.

I find it easier to get than the moonlight greatsword

Mgs is easy as piss though

>let seath break his own crystal like the turbobaka dragon he is
>run behind him while he's stunned
>chuck two great fireballs at his tail

Ez pz

A buffed falchion is miles better then kelloggs

I'm dreading getting that for the Knight's Honor achievement (if I decide to even bother going through with the achievement). Also having to fight sif in NG+2 does not sound fun. THEN of course i have to cut off priscilla's tail which makes me anxious because I know its almost impossible to cut off once she's invisible (even if I make her visible again theres no guarantee i can stagger her enough to run around to her butt and cut off her tail). I always cheese her with dung pies (you can toxic her that way and she wont aggro to you).

>assuming everyone has pyromancy attuned
not everyone is going to bother with getting pyromancies

+5 crystal demon's great axe

You would only need one attunement slot, I'm pretty sure almost all classes starts with at least one slot.

I mean that doesn't even matter because you did pick pyro as you're starting class even if you arent doing a out I build right? Right?

*doing a pyro build

Dann autocorrect

I'm with you. It doesn't excel at anything really, but it's good in all categories from reach, moveset, damage, and speed.

Hey guys what stats are required for the black knight greatsword?

the attunement part is right afaik but for my last pyro I started as a wanderer for better starting equipment (and I could turn that scimitar into queelags fury sword).

Longsword for me is one of the most versatile weapons in the game and the perfect dueling weapon. It doesn't do much damage but can pull great combos. Keep a rapier in your secondary for crits and you're set

I don't know about buffs. I haven't had any good experiences with them. My first PvP build was the standard knightmom shitter minmaxed falchion / sunlight sword build. Every time I buffed they would just run away, and then I'd usually end up beating them without the buff, or they'd go hide somewhere and eventually disconnect.

32/18 I think

if you wanna buttfuck the pve go with BKGA

so much fun

18 dex, 24 strength (2 hand) IIRC

> Get pwned by enemies
> Upgrade your fave weapon and stats
> Return to said enemies who made your life hard earlier in the game, such as skeleton's and big knights...and wreck their asses.

>Delicious

Lucerne has always been a favorite of mine.

Fuck is it even worth it? I can only go +5 on upgrades so nothing is able to one-up drake or greatsword on damage yet.

drake sword is shit by the time you reach the second bell boss

me too mang

>it will never be 2012 again where fucking all of Sup Forums was playing souls and the MP was thriving

das1 online was seriously some of the most fun I ever had out of vidya. I wish it never died.

Zwei is the most fun I have, that one handed R2 that slams bitches to the floor is so goddamn satisfying, stun locking everything is a hoot, and it scales just right

It's a good weapon. Get 24 str and just 2-hand it.

mah nigga

There is no reason not to pick up pyromancy in DS1. Its stat requirement is absolutely minuscule for the amount of versatility you get.

Drake sword is great while you are still levelling up your baby weapons, but it's moveset is boring and very limited strategically, and other weapons, once leveled up, offer better power, range and tactics.

What's the best weapon that can carry me through Dark Souls 2? I have to stream it for some idiots that like to see me get upset at the worst game in the series.

Do duel clubs L2 still ruin everything?

Demon Great Machete.God damn things has A strength scaling.
Raiding the Demon habitats and killing 'em all with their own tech is metal as fuck.

The starting mace and the Heide Knight Sword are great light weapons. Especially the mace, since blunt damage kicks all sorts of ass in DSII

My choices
>Strength
Man-Serpent Greatsword
Large Club
Black Knight Greataxe
Black Knight Halberd

>Quality
Zweihander
Longsword or Sunlight Straight Sword
Claymore
Washing Pole
Halberd

>Dex
Balder Side Sword
Falchion
Uchigatana
Quelaag's Fury Sword (needs 10 humanity for max scaling also)
Winged Spear
Lifehunt Scythe (I like it better than the Great Scythe for some reason even if I have to use the bloodbite ring along with it)

>Better as Chaos or Lightning
Gargoyle Halberd
