Bioshock 1

Bioshock 1
>individualism is bad

Bioshock Infinite
>nationalism is bad

Bioshock III
>_________ is bad

What is it?

this series

fpbp.
Bioshock died with Infinite. If they make another, it will probably be an even more ham-fisted attempt at social commentary.

Fatshaming? Misgendering? Perhaps something even more retarded, who knows?

All I know is that it will most likely be shit.

Revenge

KEK

>individualism is bad even though we it built an underwater society
Its only bad when people start mutating and killing each other

Infinite was a jewish made white people killing simulator

>Not even mentioning 2
Well, fuck you too buddy

What was bad in bioshock 2?

>Bioshock 1
>Violating the NAP is bad

the story

You kill black people for the second half of the game

wrong, try again

Collectivism

Bioshock 2 is the New Vegas of this series
Prove me wrong

>Bioshock 1
>individualism is bad

I didn't interpret the game like that at all.

>hate bioshock infinite
>in love with Elizabeth
to be fair i've never played it, i just didnt like all the changes in gameplay and the setting, should i give it a try?

Homogenous societies are bad

Being a better game than 1 and making Irrational Games pissy, see the retcons of Burial at Sea

the far better written and designed game that was outsourced to a different studio than its predecessor proving without a shadow of a doubt that the original developers are hacks?

i can't

Probably something Trump related if it releases soon
Not trying to start some Sup Forums war but game devs can't into subtlety sometimes

How do you know you hate Bioshock Infinite if you haven't even played it...?

from the trailers, how they made it into a modern fps 2 guns only type of shit, also i didnt like the city above the clouds thing

you only have to watch the trailers to see how scripted and narrow it is, you only have to play a little to see that's actually how it is

Islam.

>bioshock 2 better than 1
>look ma I'm going full contrarian am I hardcore GAYMER yet!?

fuck off autists 2 is linear shit

They already kind of did that with Burial at Sea.

>Bioshock 1
>individualism is bad
It wasn't individualism that was bad, it was unhindered libertarianism.

Get your politics/philosophies right.

Loved Bioshock 1.
Got to shoot Objectivists for days.

>I don't like 2,
>No one can't like it either

Dude just gtfo.

>unhindered libertarianism
That's anarchy isn't it? Why label it differently

The Lamb retcons were bad, story by itself wasn't horrible but the retcons made it unpalatable sometimes if you gave any shits about 1's events.

Bioshock 2
>collectivism is bad

2 is the only one that's fun to play.

Nothing. It's better than bio one in every way(except for atmosphere)

Setting up a minefield of plasmid-infused traps and traps was the best fun I had with these series.
>2 is linear shit
How is 1 any less linear?

let's be honest you watched a let's play while shitposting on Sup Forums

there is absolutely nothing wrong with a fps being linear anyway

also recommend me a good story-driven fps
it can be old i don't mind as long as i don't have to use dosbox
i have already done the following :

the stalker series
all the call of
the bioshok games
bulletstorm
singularity
alien rage
the 2 chronic of riddick games
prey
all the wolfenstein games
titanfall 2
quake 4
half life 1&2
the doom series
the halo series
the killzone series
the red faction series

>I like to look a man in the eye when I give him my word. You and me, kid -- we're goin' places!

Fuck the Remastered version. Probably spent 50% of my time playing just crashing and restarting the game all the fucking time. This is what I get for not fixing the INI settings to get rid of the mouse acceleration bullshit before I started.
tfw achievements are still broken.
Beware using vending machine and in-game menus.

the game is bad

>individualism
you mean rational objectivism

>it's an ancap the only kind of anarchism is not a bizarre contradictory niche inhabited by 500 people in bald-spot concealing cowboy hats episode.

-No one lives forever 1 & 2
-XIII
-Rage

comes to mind

escort mission: the game
3 long halls the maps

yea really fun

Didn't the first one prove the Objectivism & freedom worked?

It only stopped working when he went against his own rules & people became not human anymore....

>escort mission
You put them on your back and forget about them

>yet another bioshock thread
>yet another instance of zero minerva's den mentions

It's a game it can't prove anything, that being said all it did was push objectivism to the extreme and use it for its plot. It wasn't done well anyway desu

hum i forgot to add rage and XIII in my list
XIII art style really never gets old
i will try these two thanks

Infinite bad guys were really Republicans on steroids. Im a Christian, it's scary how plausible a crazy person like Comstock is in the real world.

Bioshock 2 literally did nothing wrong

Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is a hybrid FPS, but a pretty great FPS nonetheless.

Proved within the game*
Also true. Although lore wise it was a success until they broke their own rules, no? It's been a long time since I've played bioshock.

Crysis trilogy
Far Cry, including console spinoffs
Hard Reset
Lost Planet

wasn't this a dlc ?

Fun fact to trigger Sup Forums. The director of Minervas Den directed Gone Home

wtf im trigurd naw!!!!!!

Oh, then in that case yeah, you're right

Fundamentalism. At the end even the good guys (Vox Populi) became the bad guys because they became extreme fundamentalist.

Why would you even touch the remastered versions when you got the original right there?

i already did all of them i forgot to add them
hard reset really didn't work for me
the weapons where ugly as fuck had a shitty feeling and the enemies where really ugly too

but thanks anyway

isn't this an xbox exclusive ?

Gone Home is good, though. Overpriced for sure but that's what sales are for.

when did i ever say linear? i said scripted.

>2
>linear

Gone Home was a great atmosphere piece until DUDE LESBIANS LMAO completely soiled it

wtf i hate minervas den now

gone home would be a good sidequest in a rpg

>>individualism is bad
It's saying objectivism is a dumb philosophy. Then2 comes right around and says that collectivism is even dumber.

read Rand

It's on PS3, Vita, and PC now.

True, but when the game just throws random, stupid, defenseless mooks at you for 8 hours that go down in one headshot it gets really fucking repetitive.

it wasn't for you it was for another post i forgot to quote

It's also painfully short.

>linear shit
why is this bad?

>Didn't the first one prove the Objectivism & freedom worked?
No, Fontaine made a profit from smuggling Bibles and shit from the surface. This was the kind of shit that warranted the death penalty for smuggling and Fontaine killing people to keep people in line long before the cops started caring. Not drugs, not child prostitutes, not nukes. Bibles.

>It only stopped working when he went against his own rules & people became not human anymore....
His rules were contradictory in the first place, aka. no rules except money.

Andrew Ryan kept ragging on about the Great Chain of Capitalism guiding humanity but when the free market started moving the city away from his own ideals, he retaliated with his police force and army. One of the audio tapes (I think in 2?) explicitly say this where Ryan is mumbling about how the city is slowly moving away from his vision and wondered if he was out of touch. Then he says "Nah" and says that he's going to yank on the chain to make it go his way. It's like the one Skinner image where he asks if he's out of touch and then goes no it's the children who are wrong.

Andrew Ryan was a prideful, entitled prick who didn't actually believe in his own philosophies when they didn't work for him. He just wanted to be the boss.

Is two more Nationalism or Collectivism? or does it equate both?

FEAR?

Also
>Singularity
fucking nobody else has played that and i've never seen a more underrated game

yeah that's true i think sometimes too much action just kill the fun

ok thanks

why is it good?

Deus Ex, it might be a little too complex for your retarded monkey brain however.

> Andrew Ryan was a prideful, entitled prick who didn't actually believe in his own philosophies when they didn't work for him. He just wanted to be the boss.

> Great Chain of Capitalism guiding humanity but when the free market started moving the city away from his own ideals, he retaliated with his police force and army.

Yeah so it worked until he contradicted himself? Does the sequel work the same way?

So?

its not inherently bad or good

2 isn't really about nationalism.

Nobody went on about Making Rapture Great Again in 2. Only that killing themselves and feeding their ADAM into Eleanor would their lives have had some purpose or utility.

Nationalism and individualism at the extremes Sup Forumsesmokers and Americans endorse them ARE bad.

oh yeah i did the whole fear series too yes even the third it was fun but really not like the previous one

yeah lol i think it's lack some polish but the games otherwise has some interesting idea

>isn't this an xbox exclusive ?
Nope.

Remaster of one has achievements

But 2 Remastered doesn't have the kickass multiplayer, so it's trash.

2 is absolutely collectivism.

Infinite is Nationalism but also complains about it in the most hamfisted way.

BioShock Infinite sucks and that's not because it's linear and scripted.

Chex Quest

i meant it doesn't deserve to be a game all alone

yeah i played it a little bit and i wouldn't say it's "complex"

>yfw you realize Infinite is an arena shooter

In what way?

yes, i liked it

Funny thing is that the new prey will be more bioshock than bioshock

>enter map section
>enemies appear
>can't progress/leave area until enemies are dead
>repeat

>Yeah so it worked until he contradicted himself?
Bioshock 1 was doomed to have either Ryan as the tyrant or Fontaine as the tyrant. If Ryan stuck to his (metaphorical) guns and eventually lost control of the city to Fontaine without trying to turn the city into a police state while engaging in a plasmid race war, Fontaine would've risen to power and become the king of Rapture and go to the surface to burn it down. Even if there wasn't a criminal element (of course there would be), imagine what would happen if some upshot business savvy dude comes in and starts making lots of money and then started paying for his own building attachments to Rapture or an alternative "sister" city that he starts outside of Rapture limits. Ryan would have nuked that place so fast while giving bullshit reasons like "dangers of leaking" or whatever.

It was never going to work.
Even in the audio logs in 1, you can hear about people complaining about the greed and need to squeeze every profit out of a transaction resulting in shit quality products like the winery guy diluting his booze with distilled water. Then there's Ryan effectively putting a tax on everything including the very air they breathe because it was "his product" even though he talks about never believing in taxes.

I think the best analogy would be like a competitive gaming community's meta right after a balance patch comes out. People don't know what the new best builds are so they just either stick to the status quo or run around doing random shit until one (or more) obvious answer rises to the top. It "worked" when people were content just living as-is and doing whatever they wanted until Fontaine came to burn it down. It was a bubble and it burst into a civil war.

Don't they both have an arrow that tells you where to go at all times? They're both linear games meant to enjoy the ride.

But 2 has far better gameplay, good plasmid and weapon variety with way more options for dealing with big fights, whereas 1 gives you a few but not nearly as many.

The story is 2 is as good as the story in 1 and has the emotional father/daughter element as well. 1 just has really good atmosphere that 2 doesn't hit quite as well.

Infinite is the worst, it's still an ok game, But 1 is looked back on more fondly than 2 since 1 was just far more unique and fresh at the time and the atmosphere and plot is still quite gripping and interesting.

2 also had some fun multiplayer, it was tacked on but managed to be pretty good for a bit.

But this would violate the NAP

Fascinating, thanks.

Perfect Dark

Its a good steam summer sale game. If you paid $60 you'd be very unhappy. For $5 you'll have some fun.

You most likely will not like it more than its predecessors though

Also the system only seemed to work for the people who were making money.

Manual labourers and losers like Peachy from the fisheries were forever doomed to be poor and worthless and that was what drove them to crime and drugs, and why Atlas' charities worked wonders in recruiting an army. While most of the smart people and upper class were content with their new partygoing lives, everybody else who did all the manual labour and kept the city running were still being paid minimum wage or less (because no minimum wage in a libertarian society full of desperately unemployed workers). They were getting sick of it.

If you weren't already rich and/or making boatloads of money with your business(es), you were going to make zero or less money working your ass off 24/7 because Ryan's taxing you on everything and your local landlords and other poor people are trying to squeeze every last penny out of you for anything because they're just as desperate as you.

The first game wasn't just a commentary making fun of Ayn Rand and rednecks, it was also a jab at THE AMERICAN DREAM and how the /potential/ to be successful doesn't mean you will be, nor does it make it a good system. You'll just end up like the 50 million doctors who became taxicab drivers, and the Mexicans who camp the Home Depot parking lot all day so they can get paid $20 for working 12 hours in the sun.
