Paper Toad Minigames were fucking stupid.
Rest was okay.
No soul.
Dream Team for all its flaws at least felt somewhat new. This just feels like the team said "well, we've got all these 3DS assets left over but not enough time to make a new game, let's just cobble together some filler until we can really get started on a Switch game."
Just kind of bland and forgettable overall. I think I got 3/4 and stopped just because it felt so... nothing. Like I was just going through the motions.
This is the only game in the series that I just couldn't finish. Any originality that the old games had was thrown away so they could play it extremely safe.
Along with that, no characters from the "paper Mario universe" make a return here except for regular enemies, bowser, peach, etc. It's so much untapped potential.
>Any originality that the old games had was thrown away so they could play it extremely safe
Just a moment. Didn't that also apply to Dream Team?
No original paper characters, toad minigames sucked.
A shame, since it has by far the best battles and bosses in the entire franchise.
The game world is as plain as possible thematically and Papercraft Battles are shovelware minigame tier. Also the extent of the crossover is basically "dude paper" and there being two Peaches, Bowsers, and Bowser Jrs talking to each other.
Otherwise, the actual level design was alright and the combat is the most solid of the post-Superstar Saga games, though that isn't saying much. It was nice seeing Toadette, Nabbit, and the Koopalings getting some actual characterization. And personally, I'd rather have the Toad Hunts as filler than the awful 2D segments of the last two games, but I'd rather not have that sort of filler at all.
8/10 still decent
Paper toad minigames were ass, but i enjoyed battles.
Final battle music feels like yoko just went "fuck it, i'm doing darkness of the unknown again."
Still good though
Shit Story
NSMB aesthetic out the ass
Paper. Fucking. Toads.
No fucking upgrade roulette wheel
SLOW FUCKING HENTAI SHIT COMBAT
But it has some of the best boss battles in the series
To a lesser extent, yes. But it did have new characters, and the dream gimmick was pretty novel. Paper Jam just goes completely overboard.

Do you think they'll stick to fantastic sprites for Mario & Luigi: All Switched Up?
>Mario & Luigi: All Switched Up
Is there a new one coming out?
again
>SLOW FUCKING HENTAI SHIT COMBAT
No, I made the title up
but the Switch is nintendo's new "handheld", so the next Mario & Luigi will be on it. Now that the screen isn't low-res shit, do you think they'll stop using sprites?
I hope they keep using sprites because they're really damn good at them
All the 3D in the 3DS titles was outsourced because Alphadream can't into 3D, so probably they'll keep with some form of 2D.
I personally hope before another M&L they do something new, or maybe revisit Tomato Adventure. They really need a break from M&L.
>so probably they'll keep with some form of 2D
And I hope it stays that way
>do you think they'll stop using sprites?
they better fucking not
I dont want to play as Pissed Off Mario
Friendly reminder there's a Super Mario general now on /vg/
Could always use more friends and discussion
Whatever went right with SMRPG, PM, and M&LSS, wasn't put into it.
>mariocucks cant even keep up a general
That's a positive, not a negative.

I was about to seriously answer this but now I'm here to mock you.
