I don't even know how this is allowed. I've heard of this happening with other games too. How can you have a collectors edition of a game without it having the game with it? It's a retarded concept.

I'm no Biodrone and I won't buy Andromeda, but what's wrong about this?

Just buy the Collector edition and the physical copy. If they included the two together would you actually still bitch about it?

.......................

EA realized the fucking RC car is more fun than the game itself.

Companies do this so that the super duper edition isn't tied to a specific platform, so if a certain platform doesn't sell well they don't have a bunch of them sitting on the shelves.

>deluxe edition
>doesn't include copies on all major platforms

come on user

I swear cod did something similar but still included the game

>literally pay hundreds of dollars for a shitty hat DLC
>Steam games contain DRM
>Valve treats its fans like idiots when it comes to Half Life 3... for a decade

Gabedrones will defend this and still argue that Valve is the best.

So why don't they just give you a ticket or whatever to trade for a game of your chosen platform? Is it that hard to do?

Just allow the customer to pick the platform when they order it/buy it at the store. But then they wouldn't be getting as much money as having them be separate.

>trying to change the topic

(You)

>Includes an EA store cupon that can be exchanged for a digital download of ME:A on your platform of choice

Solved your issue there, and it makes it seem like more of a bargain, because a choice seems inherently more valuable to a consumer despite not much changing.

You do realize companies like Nvidia give you a redemption code which can let you pick your platform (or free game) and receive the final code

EA is just fucking jew plain and simple

>other companies do shitty things so that makes it alright for all companies to do shitty things

>Steam games contain DRM
Steam IS the DRM you moron

>Valve treats its fans like idiots when it comes to Half Life 3
How? They never promised HL3 was coming out ever.

Isn't that just a toy related to the game? If anything, it's better than wasting your time with a Bioshit game.

>Only one person in the entire thread figured out this simple fucking thing
Sup Forums is populated by the dumbest people on the internet

Yup, we all know kids like playing with empty Steal Books. Great toy 10/10.

It's done so if you want it you can buy the version of the game you want and then that with it. Instead of making 3 versions of the collectors edition and having the possibility of the game not selling well on a specific platform and having a bunch of leftovers.

They promised they would continue the story.

I think it's so that if you end up really liking the game, you can get all the stuff without having to re-buy the game. Cuts down on cost and space since they won't have to make a different one for each platform the game is on, and people won't have to shell out so much right away.

The word edition implies it's an edition of the game that comes with extra things. As the game doesn't come with it, it can hardly be called a collector's edition. This shit shouldn't be allowed.

It's treated as a "collectible".

It's a dumb thing to stick with an RC car but nowhere on the packaging at all does it state it is the game. In fact it specifies that it is a "collector's edition" of an RC car. The only reason your manchild ass thought otherwise is because you're a vidya addicted idiot that has never processed the thought that collectors of things besides video games exist, so collector's editions of things besides video games must also exist.

>other companies do shitty things so that makes it alright for all companies to do shitty things
I never said this, so don't put words in my mouth. I just point out the hypocrisy.

>Steam IS the DRM you moron
I KNOW, dumbass. So tell that to all the gamers supporting and praising Valve.

>How? They never promised HL3 was coming out ever.
They did.

But lately they refuse to simply come forward and announce that they canceled it. Instead, they prefer to just laugh their asses off while all the Pcbros keep showering them with money.

This is to prevent redundancy on platforms that do not sell as well/sell physical as much (PC). You can grab the generic game-less deluxe edition instead of double dipping and getting a physical PC version.

It's still not a great deal, but it makes sense.

>The word edition implies it's an edition of the game that comes with extra things.
That is not remotely what the word edition means. See Is video games the only thing you've ever done in your life?

>Pcbros
Well, look at here...

I wrote Valve.d.r.o.nes but this was posted instead.

Another piece of evidence how blind Gabe/Valve fans REALLY are. And they say console gamers are peasants.

The worse thing is that they sell an edition with the game but still have to pay extra

>Mass Effect: Andromeda Exclusive SteelBook

So it name drops a game, and gives you an exclusive Steelbook for the aforementioned game, yet this is NOTHING AT ALL to do with games, despite it also noting "Game Not Included" so it affirms it's tied to a game.

3/10. Keep baiting.

>never played any half life
>use steam exclusively

Why would half life have anything to do with using a PC. I swear you console peasants act like you are on drugs all the time.

pcbros

holy fuck why is that word filtered

this place gets worse and worse

But than they wouldn't be able to charge you an additional $70 on top of that.

>I never said this
>puts words in my mouth

I swear jackasses like you act like you are on drugs all the time.

You show up in threads with OP's picture without fail and you never stop being a humongous fucking retard. If you're confused by something this simple you can't have once purchased the product you intended in your whole life.

Ugh, I know right. Video gamers are the worst.

It's a warning there so that unknowing parents or complete retards don't buy it expecting the game, then lose their shit when it's not in there. And you are the living proof such a stupid fucking warning is actually necessary.

Is that RC car any good?

I might actually buy this.

>Video gamers
The word you're looking for is shitposter.

How fucking new are you faggots that you weren't here when they wordfiltered all the platform insults including nintenbros but not nintentoddler

>they do it so it's not tied to platform
hehe you guys watch giantbomb too?
on a serious note though they're fucking jews, could at least put a game code in there

I've been here since 2012 or 2013. But I spent most of my time on other boards.

It's not hard.

What is the steel book for if not the game?

No interest in the new ME, but I would expect the Collector's edition to include the actual game, yes.

I've only purchased two limited edition games in my life: NieR: Automata Black Box Edition and Drakengard 3 Collector's Edition.

God damned is the Black Box Edition just perfect, too. Worth every cent for a Taro-fag like me.

No, the phrase "Mass Effect Andromeda" being placed directly above "Collector's Edition" is what caused that confusion.

I do notice there's a space in between "Andromeda" and "Collector's Edition" which is probably a legal thing. I get that the company can argue that "Collector's Edition" is the beginning of "Collector's Edition Remove Control Nomad ND1". This does not erase the fact that it is designed to look like "Mass Effect Andromeda Collector's Edition", because "Collector's Edition" generally follows a title, not introduces it.

>implying that shit is marketed to kids
Only manchildren would spend money on an ugly overpriced RC car like that, the steelbook is just there as extra bait for the Biodrones who want a "complete collection". That being said, the box makes it very clear this isn't the game, it's a fucking RC car.

They expect you to buy a regular copy as well and use the steel book for it instead.

>No interest in the new ME, but I would expect the Collector's edition to include the actual game, yes.
But you can't miss buying the game, so what's the problem? All they have to do is go to the store and buy the physical copy when ordering this Collector Edition.

>God damned is the Black Box Edition just perfect, too.
Good taste.

Sarah Ryder behind this?

All they'd need to do is rebrand it as anything but being a collectors edition

Seriously, I spent the same amount on that box as I did for my PS4, but a game that good needs a box like that to house it.

>Well, look at here...
What the fuck are you trying to say
Fucking BRs man

>doesn't come with ryderfu action figure that can sit inside
