still stuck on graphics > gameplay. all thats changed in racing games is rain and water is rendered better.

I remember GT used to be a monstrosity of a franchise, with appeals rivaling FIFA and Madden yet still having that "hardcore gamer cred"

Then it seems like in recent years, Gran Turismo just fucking disappeared.

Racing games started to take themselves too seriously.

why don't racing games have local multiplayer anymore?

Devs think that just the racing part is not enough and feel the need to add "cool" interactivity, make you feel like an important part of the world and other such normie-appealing shit.

Forza Horizon does this well enough honestly
