Any advice on how and when to play the DLCs lads

Im level 23 and still havent even met Benny/Housr/The Legion/BoS.
Ive heard that i should done Honest Hearts first cuz its not really connected to the other DLCs, but ive also heard that it references some characters from the main game.
Will i br clueless if i start it now, before meeting lots of characters, i want yo have the optimal experience this run, lore-wise

Play in release order. That being DM, then HH, then OWB, then LR.
But you are kinda right. You don't really need to do HH 2nd. You can honestly do HH wherever in the order you want.

You already fucked up by taking so long to get to Benny. Level 15 should be when you start a DLC if you want any sort of challenge.

I start the game and go straight to the Casino following the main story until I deal with Benny, then I go with Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road.

has it more or less right; I usually do HH first because, fuck it, it's easiest and has basically nothing to do with the others. At level 23, it should be a joke. Otherwise, for your first time through, do it in release order.

I dont really care about the loot or the dificulty tb h, i just want to play them in order that makes sense lorewise

I say do them once you reach the end of the main story and have seen most of the game so you know enough to care about the referenced characters

Just play Linesome Road last and do it right before the Hoover Dam battle, otherwise its not a big deal how you play them

Lonesome Road last

The rest whenever you feel like it; they're level scaled for the most part, so unless you're playing a no reload challenge, it doesn't matter

Skip dead money, its shit

writing's great, gameplay's shit
like the rest of them game though

fucking retard

HH was pretty bad tb h

I enjoyed them all, way better DLCs than what F3 and F4 got imo

I usually start with HH early on. It's barely related to the other 3 DLC pieces, and you get some pretty nice equipment, too.

Next is Dead Money. The loot is good, the gameplay is sheite and the voice acting, story and mood of the sierra madre make up for it.

I wash off the taste of dead money with good ol' OWB, and then just do lonesome road before heading off to the dam. Or just do it right after finishing OWB, if you dont care for narrative and want to actually use the awesome divide items.

New Vegas thread?

Fuck this place

This and vault 22 were just the fucking worst.

>22
Not really.
Its pretty easy and straightforward, it has some cool story and desing and interesting enemies, its way better than 34 imo.
The only problem is that there is litey no loot inside aside for 1 inceniator

You niggers hyped?

youtu.be/J-MqpYIfEOw

seems like broken shit tb h

Playing it for the first time and thoughroughly enjoying it, just got the the Sierra Madre.

its good if you play it for the first time, but it becomes a pain in the ass in every replay

Speak for yourself, you impatient child.
The mechanics of Dead Money are fine as long as you're not expecting to be able to blaze right through everything.

shit taste my dude

I think Honest Hearts should be the first DLC you play, then Dead Money, then OWB if you want lots of looting and shooting. Ignore Lonesome Road altoghether, it's an abortion.

HH only references Caesar and Joshua Graham's early years, if you've heard about that already, what you learn in the DLC will be a nice addition to the lore.

I always saw DM as Obsidian's bid to create a next Bioshock / System shock game.
I think they'd do a pretty good job of it.

Honest Hearts or Dead Money first depending on preference, I perfer HH first around 12 and DM around 20.
Then OWB and LR last for consistency's stake. Though sometimes I'll duck into LR early to try and get items for certain playthroughs (like the nail gun for "handy man" characters) and then leave since you actually have the option to.

i thought its referencing that "Burning Man" guy judging by the cover, for who i dont know shit yet, so i was wondering if i need to meet Caesar first before playing the DLC

wait, isnt LR the only DLC that you cant go back to the mojave?

Bear in mind that you will gain 4+ levels per DLC and beyond level 30, many enemies in DLCs start becoming annoying bullet sponges. HH can be played last since it the least amount of bullshit enemy leveling.

but you can blaze through everything with a right build.

LR is the only DLC where you can go back to Mojave any time.

Friendly reminder that if you dont always chose Yes Man, you are a fucking retard

oh, i gess i got this wrong
thanks for telling me that senpai, i was thinking of starting HH right now because i thought i can switch it between the main game, but ill wait a bit then, i still want to finish some side quests in Mojave before starting it

Joshua Graham is the Burned Man senpai
i think most of it's explained in the DLC if you haven't find out anything about him, but in your place i'd wait at least until i've spoken with the Followers, they can tell you about Caesar and Graham
plus it's really meant to be a higher-level DLC

Dead Money after OWB to cheat the system.

In my experience, if you take Honest Hearts too late in your game, the enemy scaling goes off the rails and you'll be one-shotted by bulletproof forest wiggers inexplicably wielding .50 guns.

Go to Zion first, scaling there is a mess so you'd rather find tribals with 12.7mm than with a fucking AM rifles! Dammit. This dlc is for survivalist characters. Despite being very short and exploring mostly this is the most linear dlc and directly connects courier with caesar and Burned Man.
Then you are free to do whatever you like.
Old world blues is a fun SCIENCE dlc with the longest dialogues in game and ridiculous moments like arguing with your own brain. You dont have to have a single science point to get through, recently i beat it on 1 INT and it was still fun. But fuck that giant bloatfly. Here you get mentions of a bos assasin Chirstine, bos elder Elijah and mysterious courier Ulysses. Get a hint about the Divide and meet a fucking toaster.
Sierra madre is a fucking hell on earth in hardcore mode, and regenerative implant is a must have there. otherwise you really need some major skill at 100, like speech or science, or lockpick. Plenty of opportunities to make MONNAY there as well, and one of the best perks in game can be obtained there too. This dlc connects player with rouge BoS elder Elijah, you probably heard about him from Veronica and hidden valley inhabitants.
And the last is Lonesome Road, this, actually, IS the main quest of FNV, not that dam bullshit. Through all the dlc you get the mentions of the Ulysses and his obsession with OLD WORLD AMERICA FUCKING SLEEPS, if you can add 1 and 1 then you probably see all the build up to this final dlc and it will affect you greately. Otherwise its just a linear as hell dangerous walk with a lot of backstory told to player through holotapes, dialogues and terminals. Some great equip can be found here as well. And stay away from flashbangs, they are bugged.

i was going to suggest the opposite
it's no fun if the white legs come at you with bitch ass lever action rifles
maybe i've found the sweet spot because i haven't seen them firing anti-materiel rifles either

>play Legion
>game is literally 7 hours long and all of the endings suck ass
>play NCR
>questline bugs out at 3-4 different points and breaks immersion when I have to bring up the console to progress. Also Kimball and Oliver are cucks.
>play Mr. House
>get treated like dumb muscle
>play Yes-Man
>realize this is just Mr. House for retards who went too far in the Legion/NCR questlines and then backed out

>>game is literally 7 hours long and all of the endings suck ass
You know why? Because aside from acquiring some war tech legin dont need your help. Every other community needs to fix this or that, investgate something or scout. Legion can fucing handle shit themselves, they need you for doing some special forces tier jobs and dont need a fucking paladin saving every other settlement of theirs.

All this is not making them any better in my eyes.

Legion is a bunch of retarded cosplayers with spears. There is nothing to prepare, they just throw everything at people cutting them down with guns.

dead money really wasn't much harder on hardcore mode

uncomfortable, sure, but you really just have to be cool with the fact that you'll be hanging at 1 hp until you're in the casino, which isn't that bad as long as you don't engage the ghost people too much

Doesnt make them any less capable.

Best faction coming through.

thanks for the spoiler, i guess

This reads like Mr. Fantastic wrote it but I love the passion, 10/10

wtf is the point of karma in New Vegas anyway

nah

didn't some guys already do this

p-please share my meme[/spoiler

Caesar is a fucking mongoloid, why the fuck does Sup Forums jerk him off so much

It's not fun when your followers die instantly and they can't make a dent against their attackers.

The whole point of DM is playing by someone else's rules, plus NOT following quest markers, Elijah comments on how they dull your brain and it shows throughout the DLC how some objectives can be right next to you but you need to find a way around shit to get to that unreachable area

Because Sup Forums are a bunch if cucks and Caesars legion are basically the niggers of the Mojave

Solar powered saved my fucking ass in dead money hardcore.

That regen was so worth it

Mr House is so pleased he has found someone worthy of even being assigned tasks.

And gets more and more impressed the further you go...and even more so if you line everything up right.....hell he speaks about how you are one of the few to ever exceed his expectations at the endings.

Thats high praise considering the Legion and the NCR both use and treat you like a errand boy themselves

>he didn't get the unique laser rifle

All in release order, make sure you have a really high speech, like 99 or 100, for lonsome road, unless you manage to find all the tapes.

>being cucked by House

Jokes on you nerd, im having a regular guns run, I dont use any energy weps but where the fuck was that rifle, IIRC i searched the whole vault pretty good
