In 3SE Vergil was rewarding, not really overpowered when his only counterpart is Dante. They're both rewarding and challenging

Nonsense. Turn that hammy shit all the way up. Once you get serious you get shitty DMC2 Dante or Donte. Dante's humorous personality is supposed to contrast with the bleakness of the world, combined with all the demons and doomsaying going around. I guess there's a nuanced medium here, but I'd rather DMC be way way over the top than grimdark.
