I'm planning to play skyrim as an unarmed merchant in legendary mode
(no destruction-conjuration spells-no bow-no weapons allowed). Is it possible to finish the main questline this way or should I allow myself to use daggers or shield?
without shields I dont think I can get through some dungeons with more than two draugr deathlords. trolls can one hit me if I am leveled. I'd disenchant the gloves of the puglist in the ratway in the beginning. what's the maximum dps? can I kill alduin by punching him to death in legendary mode? has anyone tried it?

I have similar questions and can't really answer yours but all dungeons will probably be fine with a follower tanking. You won't actually be doing any damage, but your follower at least will be taking the damage.

Your main problem as with all melee builds will probably be dragons and getting them to actually land as you don't get Dragonrend til near Alduin. It's possible to kill Alduin by punching probably, but it will probably also take several hours of nonstop punching.

And you have no chance against dragon priests or the DLC enemies.

Heavy armor with enchanting. You can find the gauntlets that increase unarmed damage in Riften sewers.

Heavy armor has a perk that increases unarmed damage.

do yourself a favour and install Requiem or something else to turn off level scaling if you wanna play a non combat character

No, several fights require signifigantly more than dragon shouts. And potion abuse only gets you so far, eventually you will get oneshot by mages and cant fight back. You can justify having weapons, but no putting points into wepons or magic. Ie you should buy youre way to victory. Buy the best gear and companions, and throw money at alduin. If you can get a mod that allows you to throw money for damage thats perfect.

>speech level 100
>persuade alduin to kill himself

That would be nice, but this isnt fallout 3.

Side note, user could do the enchanting/potion buff loop to make super equipment.

>in legendary mode
Total waste
All it does it turn everyone into dmg sponges

Just do expert nigger

Will the enchanting actually help him if he's not using weapons though?

Skyrim was such wasted potential. There's a good game in there somewhere, but it's marred by so many poor design choices. It's like they didn't even playtest their own game when coming out with the difficulty levels, they just tweaked some numbers and called it a day.

It annoys me that there is no actual fun way to beat it on legendary.

With the right mods it doesn't.

>Casual Souls UI
Why would you do this to yourself?

>punching dragons to death
>on arrowsponge mode
Good fucking luck, hope you've got some damn good mods on.

>actually liking the skyrim ui

Without mods? Yeah of course. Just make sure to complete the main story right away before you get too many level ups.

>People don't just use SkyUI and MoreHud to customize their UI

Are you people retarded or something

I have started as a khajit and set it to legendary mode. claws do crazy damage man. it's way easier than I thought. I dont even need a dagger at this point. claws also have good attack speed

edit:claws dont count as one handed. I killed 3 people and didnt level up a bit. I'll be level 1 for a very long time it seems

How do you even go from weapon or spell to unarmed clawsor fists?

>implying I'm not using SkyUI, moreHUD, iHUD, Less Intrusive HUD, Extended UI, and some other misc interface mods

Why would I want to use Skyrim's UI when I can change it to something more enjoyable?

>can I kill alduin by punching him to death in legendary mode? has anyone tried it?
You probably can, but only through exploits. Maybe. Also , get the Heavy Armor perk.
I think you should allow yourself to use a shield at least. I assume you have enchantments on your armor?

Did someone mention the mod that adds an unarmed skill tree? You should get the mod that adds an unarmed skill tree.

mods that change the game diffiiculty or gives me advantages make me feel like I'm cheating

The older games allowed you to level up your unarmed skills.

Under that understanding, the modification would simply correct Bethesda's laziness in my eyes.

Install a mod so you can pay people to kill things for you.

Of course you use daggers, don't you know merchants are the best at back-stabbing people?
