That opinion is false tho.
The themes are tighter in one and the whole opening with Jack Lupino and all that satanist shit is fantastic.
I haven't replayed 2 as much as I have one though, although I did get the alternate ending in 2 long ago.

Got ruined by whatever the fuck happened after the first episode. It took like half a year for another episode to come out.
There are 2 theories as to why the massive rewrites happened. Or maybe they both played an equal part.
People guessed who the murderer was. It was quite obvious. This "random" guy appeared in 3 locations throughout the game for seemingly no reason and was the last person to be seen with Snow.
And apperantly the comic company Vertigo saw how popular it got, and wanted Telltale to rewrite it so it would fit into the canon of the Fable comics, thus not giving them free reign with the story.
