no we didn't you butt

Tried playing the second one but the overly weeby character design put me right off.

speak for yourself. Sup Forums highly recommended them to me

Stop lurking in Monhun threads then faggot

Well, I recall people telling me they sucked. Maybe I asked at a bad time or something.

>you butt
Rude.

>the overly weeby character design
Now what might you be talking about?

It's literally the second best game in the Hunting Genre, not counting actual hunting (You know? Like the Deer hunting kind) games.
Soul Sacrifice Delta has the best story out of them all though.

>It's literally the second best game in the Hunting Genre
Then I got tricked. Fucking Sup Forums, man.

Also I wasn't aware this was a genre. I know about Monster Hunter, but I thought this and that were all there was. Any more on PC?

I don't know what's on PC and I don't think it's really a proper genre, but there's definitely plenty of games that follow a similar MH formula.

They are compared to the games they copy.

GOOK VOICES PATCH WHEN
I FUCKING HATE THE ENG DUB IT'S FUCKING AWFUL

No it's not.

Just found out about this now.

>they gave the protagonist of the first game a name
>yet she doesn't show up at all (i assume)
What's even the point then

That's the canon name for the protag in the manga and shit

Toukiden 2 just came out. Might want a controller.

The Vita is honestly the best system for monster hunting, though.

I brought this game because of Alisa, the fact that she's your waifu in every other GE medias but the vidya really fucking pissed me off.

No, they were talking about the Cock Eater series of gay blowbang videos.

Unimportant details man, just ignore it.
Pretty sure Yuu's a guy and the default female protag is canon too.

It's completely irrelevant to everything vidya related though.

I see. But still, if they gave the protagonist of the first game a canon name, then they should have gone the whole way and given them a canon appearance and have them be playable.

>Pretty sure Yuu's a guy
Fuck. I really enjoyed making Alisa into a lesbian.

I guess it doesn't matter like you say, though.

>Any more on PC?
Toukiden 2 came out the other day. Different enough from GE to enjoy both.

>locking weapon upgrades to story progression
>forcing fight to be a slog
>damage sponge enemies

i'll never understand how people enjoy this garbage

>I really enjoyed making Alisa into a lesbian.
She could still be user.
The Canon Character's existence is almost meaningless and barely there to begin with. There's like two proper mentions and a few vague implications.

>They don't let you one shot low level enemies with endgame weapons before you reach endgame.
>You have to actually fight them properly.
>You have to actually earn something and play the game.
Yeah it's fucking garbage, huh?
You shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes for any battles in GE man.

10ish minutes is long for you?

>game let's you get upgrade items for a weapon
>you are all set for an upgrade
>oh wait, it says you have to do story shit

Such pointless shit and 15 mins is too long for a boss, especially when they're like i said "damage sponges" so there's no enjoyment fighting it

>15 mins is too long for a boss
That is like the maximum time fighting them man, it's not that bad. It gets better with time, same as Monster Hunter.

That Story Progression/Weapon Upgrade thing is a valid complaint though, now that I get it after you've explained it a bit further.

It's because you could import your character from Burst into 2/Rage Burst, so instead of it saying Yuu it would be your character's name. Not importing defauts it to Yuu.

Because Resurrection, which was a remake of 1/Burst, came after Rage Burst you can't import like that so by default it will always be Yuu.

They're shitting MonHun knockoffs which decided that all of the interesting melee mechanics should be locked behind 1 at a time and have a terribly jittery gameplay.

MonHun and Toukiden are a billion times better, and Freedom Wars actually has interesting ideas about gameplay. All God Eater has going for it are waifus and create a bullet.

You fell for the Nintenbro propaganda

>Hunt for mats for an upgrade
>Get everything I need
>Locked until 2 difficulties later
>Completely forget about it when the time comes and craft/upgrade a different weapon altogether
or
>Upgrade the weapon
>Next upgrade isn't until another 4 chapters.

There were daily threads for a month or so after its PC release with everyone mostly praising it.
I think it's the kind of game you either like or completely hate.

Thanks, Toukiden 2 looks damn good, I'll make sure to give it and the first game a try soon.

GE is the best MH clone there is.

The games are decent and complement MH very well.

These kind of games are like crack, I just put 70 hours straight into GE2RB. I also feel like handheld is the best way to play these kind of game and the Vita is the best for this, you can play the PSP Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd as well as the Vita games, God Eater Ressurection and 2 Rage Burst, Toukiden Kiwami and 2, Freedom Wars, Soul Sacrifice Delta and the mediocre Ragnarok Odyssey Ace if you really must.

>No lord of Arcana
I gotta be it's only fan.

Personally I've never tried it but I heard it was pretty mediocre.

Is it any good though? It looks like a clunky mess from the gameplay videos.
I love MH clones though, so I kinda want to play it.

wrong that Toukiden 2

>forcing fight to be a slog
>damage sponge enemies
If there's one thing I was very disappointed with Rage Burst is how fucking easy the game is.
>craft 1 of each elemental blade
>equip proper blood art
>install all of the op skills
>proceed to steamroll the whole game
seriously once I got to difficulty 15 I thought the game would finally put some challenge but here I am soloing multiple aragamis in less than 2 minutes, fucking ridiculous.

Yes it is one of the worst MH clones there is.
Very fucking average, but it have fucking bahamut on it so it is already a plus, weapons start clunky and get better as you progress with weapon mastery, getting new weapon skills and what not, my favorite is the spear-gun-rod clusterfuck of a weapon is fun to use, the hit boxes are vastly superior to FU if that helps.

try it but you might or might not like it.

>how fucking easy the game is.
Man, and here I am thinking the game was decently challenging when it wasn't being bullshit.

I'm a vet of Burst on PSP. Some of the newer enemies felt like bullshit, but once you get high level skills and and weapons, the game's a bloody cakewalk.

I did exploit everything I could in the game but then again that's how you're supposed to play these games right? I grind the shit out of everything so you can equip the best shit and kill things faster, I just found that the game has severe balance issues.

I haven't touched the game in days but basically I was exploiting that one blood art of short blades that does a jump triangle attack and you get four blades following you hitting the aragami in a wide area. I put all the melee upgrade skills, melee attack up, melee speciallist, the one that increases jump attack melee damage, the one that does more damage when you're out of stamina and the one that does more damage when your health is low and a few other skills. I was breaking every bond in less than 30 seconds and constantly knocking the aragami out. Also, when you jump and run out of stamina you don't go into that recovery animation which lets you exploit the extra damage when low on stamina and attack ridiculous fast.

The only problems i have is how un memorable the monsters are except for kung fu bird.
And that bullets are way too strong late game

>BUT I HAD TO SHOOT IF YOU JUST...
It's still stuck in my head.

Fucking kanon, I hate her but also love those tits man, why

Fuck chi-yous the are the fucking worst monsters, small, fast, strong and all those fucking DBZ energy balls, I hate them.

I remember all the other monsters, Quadriga is specially cool.

Playing GER right now, I'm somewhere in Rank 6. The difficulty is in an odd place for me because sometimes a monster will knock me around like a ragdoll, like that transformed Dyaus Pita, but I have so many recovery methods and second chances that I never feel in any danger at all of failing a mission.

I think it's right in the middle as far as hunting games go. Better than Toukiden and Freedom Wars for sure, but lacks both the narrative strength of SSD and the rock-solid core gameplay of MH.

I seriously don't like how twitchy and weightless the monsters seem at times, though. It really makes me appreciate the effort gone into MH's animations.

They are the easiest, all you have to do is shoot bomb shots and watch all of their bonds break in seconds, then you just easily crit the shit out of them.

Don't ask in nu-Sup Forums's MH threads. No other games reach their superior standards except Pokemon.

>Fuck chi-yous the are the fucking worst monsters
That's not the Gawain.

>Quadriga is specially cool.
Patrician taste, I love fighting them and their variations.

If you solo you only have 3 chances like in MH, and you can't craft for more potions like in MH. Also the endurance gauge is a new addition.

The thing with dying is not that you fail the mission it's that you get less drops afaik.

Also, Heavenly Father is the best aragami in the whole series.

Are you literally (You) then?

I swear that they just reused Nep's voice clips for one of the character voices.

The difficulty can be quite schizophrenic in these games, and not just in the way you mentioned.

>The thing with dying is not that you fail the mission it's that you get less drops afaik.
?

If you lose all of your endurance during a mission, you get slapped in the face with a mission failed and have to restart.

I've noticed Ciel's voice acting changing too.

gematsu.com/2017/03/god-eater-seventh-anniversary-live-stream-set-march-30

>nobody posted this

GE3 people

Reminder that Ciel wants the Julius but Julius only has eyes for Romeo.

GE2 and the expansion RB just felt like rushed and unnecessary. Who thought it would be fun to fight the same monsters, in the same arena, using the same weapons and going back to the same hub as the previous games would be a nice idea? It felt like the game was 80% old shit and 20% new stuff that was very unappealing when compared to the old stuff. I swear to god whoever designed the new aragamis must have a fetish that includes abnormally large arms and very short and tiny legs, that shit was all over the place and quite disturbing after I noticed it.

>All God Eater has going for it are waifus
You have to admit they're pretty good, though.

Would be better if it wasn't for the shitty dub. They even fucked Sakaki's voice which was one of the best in the dubbed version.

The reality is that the games focus more on story rather than adding new aragamis. Let's see what direction GE3 goes.

>and going back to the same hub as the previous games
This is one of the things I didn't like about GE2 and RB. The Friar ended up being quite pointless in the end.

Definitely the most satisfying kill so far. I breathed that same sigh of relief when it died as I do for Elder Dragons in MH. Ouroboros was cool looking but when it died I just got the sense of, "that's it?"

Why does Alisa have two pallette-swapped copies of herself to pick to go to missions with you but everyone else gets only one?

Blitz Hannibal is also pretty rad :^) Have you fought it yet?

Cuz Alisa is lewd.

I haven't yet, but I recognize it. I drew it for the drawthread once without knowing what it was. Excited to meet it!

To cover all colour bases and because of favouritism. Not like it matters, all of the recolours are shit anyway

Same. When I first started the game, I loved the music in Friar, explored everywhere, found it quite small and thought, "Maybe I'll have access to other areas further into the game." Nope, back to the Far East. And here I was hoping we'd explore different areas since Friar is a mobile fortress and all.

I still haven't gotten around to finish the Rage Burst portion of GE2

The expansion was surely the best thing to come out of the whole game.

MonHun is better

Except for the final boss anyway.

If you wanna go fast make one of those gravity bullet then.
Ressurection has better weapon upgrade progression so it shouldn't be much of issue.

Dat ass though. LEWD!

Julius is married to his vegetable farm.

I just never finished it because I had other games I wanted to play too.

And I only had like two other people to play with on PC, they stopped playing. So I pretty much stopped a bit after I got Blood Rage.

I thought it was good.

What was not so good though, was that some of the mission right before the final boss were nigh-impossible by comparison. It made the last fight really underwhelming.

You mean the rocket kongous? Those things were easy as fuck but then again I was spamming that jump attack blood art, I believe it's spiral meteor, made the fight laughably easy

Revisiting map from the older game is indeed boring, though it still add variation of available area.

>going back to the same hub as the previous games
I actually liked this, i don't really like friar lobby for some reason. When the game throw me back to far east branch i feel relieved, bu tmaybe that because i spent countless hour there in previous games.

I'm talking about the survival missions to rescue Gil and Ciel from the tree. Survival missions with obnoxious as fuck enemy formations and debuff effects so you can't do anything without getting lashed in half if anything ever grazes you. Nana's (the one that ends with the rocket kongous you mention) was alright but holy fuck the other two.

No we didn't. It had some great threads for a while after it got released and I'm sure it'll get more when GE3 finally releases.

When?

Yeah, some of those debuff is straight bullshit & unfair.
About enemy formation you can easly handle them by making your NPC hostile & split before you meet the target enemy.

Well whatever floats your boat man, personally I'm not into mutated cripples.
Regular Rachel is best girl though.

It was a very underwhelming fight with a conclusion that had sickening levels of friendship.
We're talking verbally gagging during the scene, and levels of asspullery never before seen on screen. I was alone when I finished it and I was still embarrassed by it.

And back before the western release, all the good GE2 threads were in Sup Forums

You know at that point in the game you could have easily rebuilt a few god arcs to get the compound skill that gives 100% immunity to all debuffs right?

WHERE MY SPEAR NIGGAS AT?

God Eater Online was a mistake.

It's out already? How bad?

I don't feel very smart right now.

You can counter Field Effects? Didn't think they were like the status effects.

>Regular Rachel is best girl though.
That's not Erina

I think it's Body of Steel compound skill 4 in 1, at lvl 10 it gives immunity to poison, stun, leak and jamming. Unless you mean something else when you say debuff.

I tried the test, it was awful.
>for smartphone/tablet
>awful control scheme
>awful camera control
>framerate all over the place & noticeable input lag
>shit tier interface design
>only 3 weapon type available
>outfit is gacha (i think the second gacha give you weapon)
>leveling
Game flow is changed to fit with online system, you can visit any map you unlocked any time.
They manage to turn it as generic chink online game when i realize the first thing i did when they drop me on the field is killing 1 dreadpike in 1 spawn point right in the map entrance along with other 2 guys for like 10 minutes.
I uninstalled the game shortly.

Don't listen to Sup Forums

I thought you guys were talking about the special effects that appear in some missions (like x2 damage for aragami, lowered defence, etc.), it think it was a side effect of some anime technology field and the special Aragami's interference.
Not talking about poison or stun kind of stuff.

What?

Don't listen to this guy.
