Fire Emblem thread outside of Heroes. Excited for Echoes? Hopeful for Warriors where it's not just 90% Awaken/Fate plus Ike and Roy? Playing any Fire Emblem recently?

I'm optimistic for SoV, but the fact that it's going to be a near 1:1 remake like Shadow Dragon killed a lot of my hype.

While I agree Shadow Dragon was just your bland Fire Emblem with nothing really going for it. Plus having to kill your team members to get new ones didn't help. FE2 has enough weirdness in it that I feel it might work better.

Yeah it has the odd things like third tier promotions and archer attack distances, but there are a lot of glaring flaws that don't get fixed with the remake like the flat and bland maps, and the outdated battle system (the flat hit rates for magic, etc.) It feels like they added a lot of quality of life features but at the same time kept systems that make the original feel archaic.

>Excited for Echoes?
Nope, but I bought the limited edition for my shelf

Warriors news when? I hope KT saw the polls and decide to add Hector.

E3 most likely.

Dungeons, new stats, and new maps alone might be enough to make it more like New Mystery of the Emblem. That and I imagine some rebalancing, there's no way they make the Speed Ring act like it did in FE2.

I haven't played Gaiden myself, but by the looks of it, it's starting to become a dungeon crawler with a side of turned based battles. The flat maps makes sense because they facilitate faster battles when you're grinding in a dungeon. I just hope that the story maps will at least have some interesting aspect in them. Grinding units also make me feel a bit iffy.

Pretty excited for Echoes. Its going to be pretty much a new experience for me since I've only played from 7 and on. Curious to see how everyone will look in this new art style, especially the FE1 characters. As for warriors, Seth, Pent, and Canas obviously won't make it in so I can only hope that Ephraim and Michaiah will be enough to scratch that itch.

FE2 does a lot of NES JRPG weirdly enough. Like learning spells through leveling. It's not really like Castlevania 2 and Zelda 2 levels of difference but it does do things that FE players will find odd.

I'm more interested in how they're gonna differentiate between all the young Marth-style/rapier-style Lords.

Chrom's unique among rapier users in that his design emphasized Falchion from the getgo, and is also older and more muscular than most of the other lords, and in Awakening he basically moved like an Ike recreation(which led to hilarious things like him bashing through armor with a rapier). He hammers into enemies with his sized up Falchion rather than does fencing maneuvers. And in Warriors he's set to fill the Zhao Yun niche like Link did in Hyrule Warriors, so he's pretty much in the clear. But then he also fucking shoots sword beams out of Falchion for his musou attack so that's trivializing the kind of niches somebody like Roy or Leif might have.

Like for Eliwood he at least gets giant-ass Durandal and a horse. But then you gotta balance that with Sigurd and Seliph, and on top of that, decide how you want to portray Ephraim and Eirika if you want them mounted or not.

Zelda had the luxury of a lot of stylistic diversity thanks to Link's versatile armory in his games.

Here, we got a bunch of fucking MCs that use swords, that all could be repped one way or the other, and that's before we even touch on class reps like mages and myrmidons, etc.

Honestly FEW should handle it by having you pick your weapon. The weapon levels up and once you select the weapon you get a pool of Heroes to pick from. Or rather than weapon, you pick class. Pick the standard Lord and you are prompted to select Marth, Lucina, Erika, etc

I've been playing a romhack of Sacred Stones that eliminates skirmishes, amps up the difficulty and adds a few new items. It's pretty nice actually.

> he thinks Warriors will contain characters from non-SAO Self-Insert waifufaggotry games feat. Smash bois

dare to dream user

Since they are going to have the whole triangle in the game I rather everyone have the ability to use everything. That was one of my big issue with Hyrule Warrior. Where a bunch of characters were pretty much useless because they one got one element type in a game where having a strong element type made the game much more enjoyable.

>near 1:1 remake
That's the best part.

>like Shadow Dragon
FUCK. YOU.

It has supports so thats already 9x better than Literally Whom? the Shadow Dragon cast

I said hopefully

I never played Hyrule Warriors, but as a huge Zelda fan, the Fanservice was so good, i hope FE Warriors delivers on that.

I really hope there is a mechanic resembling supports bcause Imagine if Villains like Ashnard and Zephiel could talk about their views on the world or something.

Or Hector and Roy about how they view battles, their strategies, or something else like Hector Knowing Roy comes from the future of Elibe, and how everyhting else is 20 years later and Roy not wanting to tell him that he dies later

And the Altarnate costumes like Classic designs for Marth, Alm and Celica, and some original costumes too.
(Please no unnecesary fanservice for someone like Lilina or Lyn)

For the cast i want maybe all the Lords (some can be excluded maybe, like Micaiah) with difrent weapons, like Eliwood wieling Lances with Swords, and Ike with Ragnell and some sort of Axe.
and the Main side character, like Shiida, Lilina, Soren, ect.

The cast possibilities are huge, so who do you want to see?

Ikes axe will be Urvan

>a near 1:1 remake like Shadow Dragon
You clearly never played FE1 if you think Shadow Dragon is a 1:1 remake.

I'd be willing to bet that all the Lords and Manaketes (and relatively important characters like Caeda, Lillina and villains) will be unique characters, but for minor characters each class will just have different characters as skins.

Hopefully different mage types would also count as different characters as well.
