Marketing.
Gameboy had god tier marketing and there was attention from the company.
Vita is the opposite.
Vita existed in the time of smartphones. Gameboy didn't.
Why does sales mean success or failure, the store is getting a good amount of releases for 2017 and has a solid catalog currently
shut the fuck up, sales mean everything.
all that matters is first party games too. third party and multiplats don't count at all.
Zelda LA
Mario land 1-3
Megaman Gameboy
Seiken Densetsu 1
Saga 1-3
DWM
Pokemon 1 and 2
Metroid II
River King
Harvest Moon GB2-3
Those are the first good gameboy games to come to mind and literally none of them are NES ports. Explain yourself underage
>Zelda LA
LttP rehash
>Mario land 1-3
Mario 1 and World rehashes
>Megaman Gameboy
Clearly NES rehashes
>Seiken Densetsu 1
Zelda rehash
>Saga 1-3
FF rehashes
>DWM
Don't know what the fuck this is but its probably a rehash
>Pokemon 1 and 2
DQ monsters rehash
>Metroid II
Do I even need to say it at this point?
>River King
There wasn't a River City game outside of the NES one, retard
>Harvest Moon GB2-3
Rehashes of the SNES one
You have no argument
None of them are NES ports. I win the argument.
>ports have to be 100% the exact game
I bet you'd call Mario Kart 8 on the Switch not a port too.
Nintendo supported the Gameboy and portable systems weren't really a thing back then. like maybe some shitty tiger electronics thing. Tetris was a system seller back in those days.
Sony just throws out their handhelds and just stops supporting abruptly after a few months. the only ad I saw for Vita was a guy playing MLB the show on a PS3 then got up to leave and continued playing it on vita on the subway. it was advertised as an accessory for the PS3 instead of its own thing.
they also have more competition than the gameboy did when it came out, Smart phones and shit on top of Nintendo's dominance in that field.
it has good hardware but Sony just didn't fucking try with it.no real exclusives, tons of ports. its most popular was a PS2 game. Priority memory cards.
they're really only good for weeb bait JRPGs and hacking.
Sony could have made it a legitimate contender for the handheld market but they either don't care or don't know how to really utilize it.
>shut the fuck up, sales mean everything.
>all that matters is first party games too. third party and multiplats don't count at all.
Mario Kart 8 is a port. Mario land is not. The levels and physics are different. They are different games on different engines with different assets and therefore not ports. I am correct and you are incorrect, and also embarrassed for having not lived during the Gameboy's lifespan.
addendum
Vita games like Gravity Rush and Tearaway that were interesting Vita exclusives got ported over the main consoles, further hampering reasons to get a Vita.
You didn't even read my post
Saying "lalala im right and you're wrong" doesn't make you right, it just makes you look like an idiot
PSP was mostly PS1/2 ports and did alright. Easy piracy harmed it more than anything.
No, I am right, and did read your post, in which you stated that ports dont need to be the same game, which is false, because that is exactly what a port is. You moved the goalposts as soon as you were proven wrong which renders your argument invalid.
Mario land is not a port, stupid.
What solid catalog?
Again, you're not reading what I'm saying and just shitflinging insults to make it seem like you're right
Though this is textbook neo-Sup Forums so I don't know why I expected anything different
What are you saying then.
Cause reading comprehension is so hard for you
Nothing, ok.
If thats what you have to tell yourself to sleep at night, sure thing hun
