Ran out of budget so there's a lot of recycled content. Also normal is too easy. Otherwise it's a pretty fucking good game, my GOTY so far.
An user with a real hard on for hating this game started shitting up this board.
Character design.
hasn't been cracked so i can't play it :(
Some meh level design.
Lack of sidequests for A2.
Too much hacking.
Wasting 2B on a toddler.
Pod programs have long cooldowns
Grinding for diamond chips sucks, there should be a way to transmog high level chips to low level ones that take less space.
I liked, the story has a lot of plot holes but I kinda manage to ignore one or two things
:o(
How can I go to the machine village
A2 won't let ne
My only real complaint is that I think pretty much every boss should have had more HP. Other than that I loved everything about it.
Denuvo.
Is ending E the most ludonarrative cognizant moment in all of gaming?
2B IS a toddler
The bosses were pretty bad except for Simone and the difficulties were too polarizing
Otherwise it's a fucking masterpiece
Keep playing.
>game needs a difficulty between normal and hard
>there needs to be cooldowns on healing items and the dodge
>make it so you can't use healing items from the pause menu so you have to find time in battle to use them
>game has technical aspects but there's no incentive to do them so it needs a combo system
liked the game but these were my biggest gripes
No more feels please
2B needed a bit more characterization, just a couple slip ups with 9S to foreshadow the 2E reveal.
Quest variety. The dialogue for some quests is fantastic, but the actual quests themselves are pretty dull.
Also, we need more commander and A2.
For me I just feel like shit whenever I had to rely on healing items or spam the gun so that was my incentive to get as good as possible.
Oh yeah there should have been more enemies in general, like a lot more mobs when you're just wandering the world rather than the same ones in the same places.
Honestly, you know how most games, you get through the honeymoon period and then you start to see the flaws? It's kind of the exact opposite for me. The more I think about it, the more I feel like my initial criticisms don't hold up to defense. Hell, even the difficulty. As someone that spent 50 hours on normal and 50 on hard, I can tell you that the game doesn't just crank up damage taken. I mean, it does, but enemy attack patterns definitely became more aggressive, and I believe even some boss movepools expanded
>Normal is piss easy
>Hard is one-shot city (REALLY fucking annoying in the Route C sub-towers)
>only 20% max improved movement speed allowed
>English 2B VA is really mediocre
>Ending Y has a ton of emotional weight then just goes full Ugly Barnacle in the end for the "joke"
>Finding all the fish is a lost cause
>no t-shirt shopping
nothing lol it's just a very niche type of game
I've definitely enjoyed learning enemy attack patterns on Hard and it's been fun getting through them. I'm not very far in but I have no complaints about the difficulty just yet since I've found plenty of Health and Defense chips.
The desert sandworm rape boss will probably change my mind though.
Needed more weapon classes/move sets.
All side quests voiced.
Better bosses, the A2 2D one was shit, same for the flying centipede.
>the A2 2D one was shit
At least she had the four coolest hacking levels in the entire game.
I will say I felt they made as good a use of their limited assets as they possibly could of. So-shi, Boku-shi, Hegel, Ko-shi and Ro-shi all felt like pretty unique encounters to me even though they all used the same boss model.p
I feel like Simone shouldn't have been so early on in the game because it set expectations so high for every ensuing encounter.
But I agree the switching tower fight was the best fight to me, felt like one of the best set pieces in any action game.
I agree. Plus I noticed (confirmed with a friend, or we both got lucky) that if you basically switch to hard as soon as you can save, you get gifted a diamond +6 melee defense extremely early. And with the desert sandworm, I recommend getting the bullet time esque chip from Devola and Popola and going with the laser pod. The laser is pretty good for quick projectile control, better than the gatling, anyway
i mean no game is perfect, but that doesn't make nier a shit game it's my goty so far
Nothing.
Now go back to playing your fucking Katniss Everdeen Simulator or CS:GO.
STICK TO YOUR CONTAINMENT GAMES AND GET THE FUCK OFF OF Sup Forums
Am I the only one who doesn't like the OST? I fucking loved Nier's tracks, and found many of them extremely memorable, but I find most of Automata's music annoying so far. Granted, I've only played up to the A2 first encounter. The desert music was especially bad when the voices kicked up. Does it get better?
balance was shite, it was either too easy or dumb hard depending on how under/overleveled you were or how much time you spent setting up OP chips
still an amazing game however, I just wish they dropped the leveling and polished the combat up a lot more
Yes, you are the only one
>platinumfags
Miss the RPG label, huh?
I think the characterisation is mostly shit and applies almost entirely retroactively. Although that's only the Eng dub and maybe it works better in Japanese.
I mute the headphones whenever I have to go back to the desert so I don't have to listen to that ear rape wailing. but yes, it does get better
For me the only real missed opportunity boss was Grun. You really never interact with the boss itself and its really just a different backdrop to a standard twin stick shooter segment.
The game needed MORE Emil.
Make your own Emil head.

Went to emils shop and he wasn't there what do
Route c
>Game gets positive reception
>Game is actually good
>Game is now liked by many people
>Some Fat-retard has to shit up the boards with hate threads day-in day-out
Sup Forums like clockwork.
Ignore this thread, just the usual bullshit from autistic man-children.
so it was a shite RPG then. don't reply to my posts
No, the game doesn't really emphasize its characterization at all until Route C. After that I liked what it did though.
>Yes, you are the only one
Calm down baby, I love the game, but I don't think it's music is on par with Nier.
Well I would have replaced the dodge mechanics with a Parrying system, to make it more similar to MGS Revengeance
She also needed to be Blacked
The gameplay sucks
I just got one shot in the tutorial by 1 orb from the boss. Is this normal?
There's a parry system if you equip a counter chip.
Your faggot father didn't pull out.
One of my favorite levels for how well it nailed the Godzilla atmosphere but yeah only fighting those shield generator things felt underdeveloped.
Disliking an ost because you don't think it's on par with nier is a good way to hate most osts user
>Also normal is too easy
That's always the case with plat games nowadays. Make it "normal" and it scares casuals away
>was promised Bayonetta 3
>got this
Yeah that's what I meant by retroactive. It pretty much means you have to replay A and B after C and D to get the full experience. I don't think it matters too much as most of the time the narrative makes up for it but the first time through, even in C I found it incredibly hard to empathise with the protagonists.
>rpg asks players to properly manage skill systems on higher difficulties
Really makes you think
>Don't compare the successor to the predecessor
No sex mods
Seems like only Kamiya knows how to craft a normal that's fair but can also kick your ass and force you to git gud.
that image is racy
Honestly I got more annoyed with how much Nier reused certain tracks (like the "sad theme", especially egregious in the Shadowlord's castle), it felt like Automata had just a bit more variety.
I feel like after Drakengard 3, Taro's writing just hasn't been nearly as good. Any explanation as to why?
Emil mentioned that he had a home deep underground. Where is this home? I don't think he was talking about the place with all the flowers.
Well duh those are just nitpicks I had. I still loved the game
>t. played on normal
race mixing degenerate
He keeps doing the same stuff. Same characters, some times literally. And now he is loved for having multiple weird ass endings he feels less urge to make a single congruent plot.
These arent bad things per say, but they will wear us down after a while.
If on hard or very hard, yes.
If you're getting your ass kicked repeatedly I'd suggest just going through the prologue on normal to avoid the pain of losing 40+ minutes progress when you take a stray bullet in the last fight section
You can go into one of the pipes that water is coming out of. Check it out.
In the big hole in the middle of the city, there is a pipe pouring out water you can enter near the top of the hole. If you have Emil's key you can use an elevator in that pipe which leads to a vast underground cave system. At the end of that you will find his house.
I'm thinking of buying this game but know nothing about it
How is it in terms of:
>Combat system
>Other Mechanics
>Level design
>Story
>Music
>Linear/Open linear/Semi-Open World/Open World
>Side Quests
>Voice Acting
>Bosses
You can get cooldown chips
>healing items
I have hoarded that shit and not used since tou get lethal heal, damage heal
And auto heal chips
Add on counter, dodge chips and overclock and you. Cant be killed unless 1 shotted
The only thing wrong is that she doesn't lose more of her clothes when she self destructs.
7/10
don't really know what counts for this
7/10
10/10
9/10
open world but more like the souls games than an elder scrolls title
10/10
9/10
7/10
It's a really good game. You should buy it.
I really liked the game overall, but I feel like 9S got the most complete arc. I know that 2B and A2 get a bit of focus in the novella and stage play respectively, but some more focus in the game would have been nice.
Why are you shilling this in every thread?
Nier bate threads always turn into actual discussion ,though.
You don't actually need Emil's key, just have him invite you over
>The sudden RIP sidequests without any prior hint of it being a no-turning-back point
>Hacking gets old very fast
Also, I don't know if this is just me being bad but I found the soft lock-on very annoying. If I'm not locked on to an enemy I'd like proper free movement, without having my character target enemies for me. The full lock-on was also proper shit at locking on to the correct enemy.
>thinking all critical/non positive reviews or opinions are from one person
Are you 9 years old?
R2 to dodge, shit is instant, you can spam it as much as you can, basically Bayonetta witch time
No stamina, just crazy juggles and combos like DMC/Bayo
Bosses and some mobs shoot lots of orbs at you, you have to shoot them with your pods, some can't be broken except with swords
Healing can be in real time buy you can also use it in the pause menu
It's semi open world, lots of side quests
Great voice acting and especially music
Besides a few exceptions bosses are great and there's a few really good optional ones as well.
Just started playing as 9S. Wish I were playing as 2B instead since I prefer the way she plays a lot, but I've loved just about everything so far
9S should have had a skirt and thong too.
PROOF THAT PIZZAGATE IS REAL
you cannot make a good game solely from fapbait right?
2B gets the focus when you replay A after seeing C and D.
>Combat system
Pretty generic platinum combat with shooter elements.
>Other Mechanics
RPG elements are decently integrated, some fun genre shifting to add variety.
>Level design
Hit or miss, some areas are bland, others really good
>Story
Top tier, characters are weak for a taro game, but narrative is still strong and lots of tear jerker moments
>Music
Elder god tier, one of the best OSTs that exist.
>Linear/Open linear/Semi-Open World/Open World
Its open world in the sense that ocarina of time is open world, you have a hub that branches into different levels.
>Side Quests
Pretty standard RPG fetch quest fare, but with great mini stories to go with each one.
>Voice Acting
Has dual audio support, both language options are good.
>Bosses
A couple stand out good bosses, rest arent anything special in terms of mechanics. Bosses are generally memorable though.
2B isn't real
The position of the eyes isn't quite right. Fix your shit
If you replaced 2B with a 3D model of Donald Trump, this game would still be 9/10
Yes.
Are Adam and Eve the best parts of the game?
>accidentally got the 'played with 9s without pants for an hour trophy'
>never got 2b's upskirt trophy because i always blew her skirt up
>now sony thinks im gay
:(
In what sense? As in there are new scenes or just some "oooooh that's what she meant" moments?
Early JP release.
I got spoiled on literally the entire game without any active searching.
Just browsing youtube:
>Recommended videos: Emil theme: Nier Automata Final Boss music
Browsing twitter:
>OMG the game records you setting up your character settings and plays them back in Route B
>Check out this reenactment of Romeo and Juliet
Browsing Sup Forums page 0:
>People posting threads with shit like 2B = 2E, 2B dies, pictures of 9S going nuts, village gets nuked, Pascal dies, etc.
That's pretty much the entire game; all things that were instantly seared into my brain with casual skimming, bypassing any voluntary protocols despite my staunch unwillingness to be spoiled.
I was really looking forward to this since it was first announced too: it's the first game I've cared about in years; bought a PS4 for it, preordered the day 1 edition. And the whole experience was completely totally ruined.
I haven't played the game yet and I don't know if I even will.
Why didn't they give 9S some skimpy clothes, too?
No no new scenes or content. It's mostly the that's what she meant moments as you understand why she does the things that she does, but there are also some smaller details in her actions that I at least either didn't notice at first, or remember in order to connect to things that happen in the end.
I'm about level 10, playing on Hard difficulty for my first run at the carnival, but quick question.
1. What the hell is with all these dead bodies I'm finding? I find like 4-5 before each and every encounter. Is Very Hard like Dante Must Die mode?
2. Half of the enemies in the game just sort of stand there. I've been killing a few of them for experience before moving on. Is there some sort of mechanic where if I kill these pacifist robots that I'll be slapped with a bad ending of some sort?
Very hard has you die in one hit.
There are no bad endings for killing neutral robots. Most you will get is a joke ending which appear immidiatly if you do whatever causes them
Should have imported or gone on media blackout.
If you really cared you would have known spoilers would be around.
That being said game is still plenty enjoyable and there are plenty of smaller surprises for you.
