Because they make 2D Rayman instead.

but they suck. I want Rayman 4

Rayman 3 was one of my favorite games as a kid because it was downright magical.

youtube.com/watch?v=bmH6FDNl9nI

it would've been the perfect 3d platformer game if it wasn't so piss easy. playing through it was a breeze even as a kid

I wouldn't say that it was piss easy. But it was my first real game I played so I wasn't really used to it. And these catacombs really scared the shit out of me.

Get ready for Rayman Tales !

what's that?

>tfw doing desert of the knaaren for the first time

I don't know user. I wouldn't say it was piss easy. Some of the sections kicked my butt as a kid.

Should I play it?
I haven't played it since 1st or 2nd grade.
Never beated it, I got stuck after the hoodlum got out of your friends belly.

I really couldn't enjoy this level as a kid. I got so nervous playing it, I wasn't prepared for that back then.

because making a good 3D platformer is one of the hardest games to do right
most modern devs can't handle it
its a lost art

youtube.com/watch?v=5ViwOTq4kL0

the comfiest

it was shit, take off you nostalglasses

You should, it gets more difficult on the last 2 worlds and the final boss is "This isn't even my final form" tier

I mean, I love this fucking game, but jesus, how many times can you re-release this?

Also, it annoys me how they cut out the story of both this and Origins. I know it's just Rayman, but it looked like it would've been neat.

Best game in the series, fuck ya all.
And also fuck story, especially in platformers.

>Rayman Tales
You're not implying.... a fucking Point And Click by TellTale?

>All that "adultish" humor that went straight over my head

Really weird compared to Rayman 2

>see you in rayman 4

>doing the longest shortcut
I swear the whole thing was literally designed just to take a shit on the player

then I'll pop it in and play it today.

>that sense of mystery and wonder

it's hard to replicate

Same here man, the feels and nostalgia that the soundtrack brings out in me is indescribable.

>Beyond Good & Evil 2 will come out in your lifetime

is Ancel gonna deliver?

>muh story
not a single fucking game in the series have followed up on the story and lore of the previous games
hell, legends is the only game that didn't change drastically from the previous game

Why was rayman origins such a letdown?
I wanted to enjoy the game, but the mechanics and level design was just so mediocre.

I thought this song was the coolest shit ever

Me too, I liked how the song played a specific part depending on the attack Reflux was using

This is my favourite 2D Rayman

Rayman is liberal propaganda designed to turn your kids gay.

The original Rayman molded kids into tough as bricks, that game was fucking hard.

fuck off you actual moron.

Can someone post that rap song from this? I forgot what it was called

>3D platforming

Stop being a nostalgiafaggot and realize that this genre is rightfully dead in the ground for a reason

Better question is why they aren't making a sequel to this actually good Rayman game (or maybe they are? I hope so)

Holy shit I only now realize that this music from the GBC Rayman game is actually Rayman 2 music. Huh.

I love this franchise. One of my favorites growing up.

Personally, as much as I love the 3d games, I'm not really holding out on a sequel. The 2d games are cozy enough to keep my interest and it feels like a solid direction for the franchise. I DO however desperately want HD rereleases of the 3d games on the switch and PS4. The 360 got an HD remaster of Rayman 3 and if I remember correctly it never ended up released anywhere else. A completely missed opritunity considering it's locked to gen 6 consoles besides that.

Of course, if a new 3d Rayman game WAS released, I would absolutely cum my pants from excitement. It just feels like such a fever dream at this point I wouldn't dare start tapping my foot waiting for it.

This reinvention has been run into the ground. The games are fun and enjoyable but this style has been the face of Rayman for 7 years. It's gotten 2 full length games and 2 mobile adventures. It's time to move onto a new look at the series I think.

Rayman Tales

Why nobody talks about
RAYMAN
RAVING
RABBIDS

FUCK
OFF

When I was a kid, this was the first game that actually taught me to keep up with game news instead of blindly buying a game because I thought it looked fun

>Huge Rayman fan as a kid
>Read about Raving Rabids in Nintendo Power back when it was still going to be a platformer
>Hyped as fuck to ride giant spiders among other things Nintendo power advertised that didn't end up in the game

Imagine my disappointment when the game came out. Honestly, I still had fun with it, but it really did teach me to be more aware of these kinds of things.

It wasn't until multiple sequels later and the realization I'm never getting a real 3d Rayman again for me to start hating the rabids

because rayman 2 was the only game to get 3d plataforming right, then everyone copied it getting it completely wrong, rayman 3 also copied it getting it wrong and now its a dead genere
Sad that you can count the good 3d plataformers with one hand

Same, what a great fucking game, i miss it

>there are people who played rayman 2 on N64

i feel bad for you son. soundtrack was gimped to hell.

>i feel bad for you son.
but the ps1 version was the worst version

>he didn't own a dreamcast

I played it on the N64 first without a memory card. It wasn't until the DS version I ever got past the first 12~ levels

Everytime I watch this I want to replay the game, Rayman 2 and 3 were so fucking good, Jesus Christ. I would really like another 3D Rayman but seeing what's become of Ubisoft I'm happy it's not happening.

spook warning:

I liked the original game, but i still hate how Rayman became secondary due to the massive success of Rabbids at the time
