Fighting games should be about outthinking and outmaneuvering your opponent on a level playing field. Unnecessarily complex button inputs just to do a single technique that other characters can probably do easier is artificial difficulty

That's what it is. These post tells me that not really anyone here really put anytime into learning a fighting game. My first fighting game was Tekken Tag 2 and I stayed away cause it looked hard. Took four days for me to get used to the controls and inputs and a month to start playing on the level of my friend who has been playing since Tekken 3. You just a fucking Casual who wants the game to play itself.

Actually if you stop being an edge lord for a second and ignore the emotional stance of that post there is a solid point there.

Video games are plagued with poor difficulty scaling and relying on only one facet of difficulty is a huge contributing factor. Some games (as mentioned) rely almost exclusively on physical difficulty of the controls and some rely too heavily on large health pools and low damage output.

These things would be fine if worked into a robust scaling system that increased difficulty across the board.

Fighting games don't even lean that heavily on execution. Even if I had magically perfect execution, someone like Tokido or Jwong or whoever would still beat my ass with spacing and being able to read me.

Sup Forumstard here, some of us do play vidya there used to be some good vidya threads on Sup Forums back a few years ago. Also, most of us didn't care about GG much especially when its members fagged the fuck out and tried to out-progressive the SJWs.

You people do know that fighting games are incredibly easy to git decent at right? Fireballs and Dragon Punches aren't hard, neither are anime combos. Fightans give an incredibly clear sense of progression too, going from "I can throw a DP now" to "confirming into 20 input combo with muh 1f links" only takes time and effort and you can see when you get better at these things.
Same goes with playing out neutral too.

That is the point though. The actual game is zoning, timing and match ups but to get there you have to memorize movelists and develop the muscle memory just to get to the point where they have no impact on gameplay. That is a barrier and nothing else.

I think it was the Tropes vs Women thing in mid-2012 that was the start of Sup Forums being so full of politics as it is now. Even in 2011 when I was new to Sup Forums, there was a lot less serious business on Sup Forums, and more silly Sup Forums stuff.
