Why does nobody talk about the multiplayer mode of this game when it's one of the best arena shooters ever made?

Every mod of this game, including CS, weren't as fun as the base game's multiplayer. Shit got crazy with bunny hopping and gauss jumps flying across the map. It played like a quake game except with a speed cap at 600ups.

I just was in a server with 10 real people (not bots) and that had 30 ping. Like just 15 minutes ago. A shitload of people still play hl1dm.

Every now and then I will load it up specifically to frag. I will pick a random server and join, various times of day each time. Every single fucking time I do, this woman named Ladybug joins the server and starts talking over the mic. She sounds like a 50+ y/o woman from the midwest or the south. She does nothing but play Half Life deathmatch. It's fucking wild.
That's kind of sad. Poor woman must be a widow or something and her children all moved out or something or don't talk to her at all

Ricochet got it much worse. It's a skill-based and extremely unique game that got memed to be something terrible everyone wanted to forget about.

The trams were buggy as fuck and constantly got stuck on or gibbed the people standing in them.
