Games with E-sports systems tacked onto them are only played for the illusion of getting pro (even if it's in the back of their mind).

I play warframe, which is an annoying and grindy game. You'll almost never see any toxic players because PVE players play the game, PVP players don't treat the game as a game because to them it's a dick measuring contest.

I played Paladins before Warframe and I turned into a total cunt to people in a few weeks of playing. After I quit I'm back to normal again.

These "competitive PVP" games are fucking cancer.

Pretty much this. It convinces the majority of players that they can be the next big esports player, despite how forced Overwatch's competitive scene is. Games should develop as an esport naturally.

I had some autist get mad at me for not obeying his every command in 3v3 a few months back. He checked my profile for something to feel superior about, saw that I've never played a game of comp, and told me that he hates people like me who don't play competitive. Guess why I avoid comp like the plague in the first place?

LoL's playerbase is probably worse, but I hate mobas to begin with so I wouldn't know.
