But that's wrong, Bungie was actively trying to kill the series with those games because they didn't want to make another Halo game. Most of the members that worked on Halo 1-3 were either working on Destiny, left and made their own studios, or joined another studio.

That user is wrong, but internally people- especially Marty on the story- had issues with Reach. Marcus Lehto seemed to really like it because it was the smoothest developmental process, which is where the "Reach was our swan song" things come from in interviews.
