isn't that fire emblem?
I would say Nocturne or DDS would be a good starting point.
Well, my daddy told me that SMTIV is pretty good
It has almost nothing to do with Fire Emblem, anyway only play Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE if you've got a modded WiiU to use the uncensor patch for it:

Otherwise I recommend:
Digital Devil Saga 1+2 (it's one game split into two halves, sort of likes Trails in the Sky FC and SC) for a more mainstream appeal Megaten spinoff
Nocturne or SMT4+SMT4 Apocalypse (don't start with Apoc, it's a direct sequel to 4) for a newfag entry point into SMT mainline
And finally Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden if you just want more Persona. Avoid Persona 3 Portable on your first P3 playthrough since it removes too much from the game and is primarily aimed at people already familiar with the game.
>playing P5 as your first SMT game
You already fucked up
>P5
>bad
He didn't fuck up really, it's completely self-contained and very newfag friendly. The only thing he fucked up with is that going backwards now will mean worse graphics and, more importantly, worse mechanics.
OP here
that's what im afraid, but hey i never played SMT so i shouldn't make the same mistake on that direction. might get P3 too
If you want more social links Persona 3 and 4
If you want more fusion and dungeon crawling, probably Nocturne or SMTIV would be easy places to start
Like I said, follow
Try Devil Survivor Overclocked, that's a good intro into the mainline aesthetic.
If you get Persona 3 you'll either be grabbing Persona 3 FES (basically the complete edition of the ps2 version) or P3P (which is a portable psp version)
The ps2 version does NOT let you control party members, they auto fight in battle. In the psp version you can control them, but you loose out on a bunch of things from the ps2 version, like you can't walk your character around the city or school and cutscenes play out more like a visual novel
both are great
isn't that one a strategy rpg? That's a terrible side step from persona unless you're a fe/xcom type person
Devil Survivor is a SRPG like Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics, it's the worst possible "entry" point you could recommend, retard.
sorry must've overlooked it
anyways i'll start with Nocturne then SMT4+Apocalypse
which SMT has dante btw?
>which SMT has dante btw?
Nocturne.
It's the edgy fedora DMC2 Dante though, just saying.
but DMC2 Dante is best dante, not the LOL PARTY TIME XD dante
Nocturne.
Friendly tip, don't play the European version of Nocturne known as Lucifer's Call, see because it has fucked up framerate and the PS2 Classic version on PS Store flat out hangs on the final boss.
so i should get the pure original Nocturne on PS2? good i have the console.
thanks for the advice, almost fell for that version
Not the same guy, but DeSu was my first smt game and I loved it eventhough I am not huge on srpgs, the fact that it still had normal smt battled was great.
No, you can get the US PS Store version just fine as well, just avoid the EU one.
You fucked up. P5 had the best mechanics of the Persona series. It's not the best story but you'll have to slog through some shit to beat 3 which is pretty good and has the most dynamic cast.
Devil Survivor 2 and Strange Journey are top tier and different enough that it won't feel like you're going backwards.
oh alright then.
You're misunderstanding, all EU versions of Nocturne are shit due to bad framerate (change from 60 Hz to 50 Hz fucked up animation speed).
Furthermore PS Store, EU version of Nocturne has game breaking bug preventing you from beating the true final boss and they never patched it.
So grab any US version, be it original PS2 or PS Store.
Not that user, but I am currently playing theu eu version on my ps2 should I be worried?
Yes, your animations are running at ~17% lower speed than intended. You're playing a "dank" version of the game basically.
At least you can finish it if you're playing original PS2 version. PS Store EU version is literally unbeatable on True Demon Ending since final boss always freezes/crashes the game.
Oh then I'll just keep playing, it being slow hasn't really bothered me much.
If you want more Persona go 3 and then 4 and end with 1 and 2 afterwards.
Then go play some other SMT games, any of the PS2 ones are great.
After that get a 3DS since a lot of SMT games are there.
