Are you progressing user?

I spent 4 hours last week getting a swimsuit piece in treasure mode, so yeah, I'd say I'm making great progress,
Hit a plateau for a while there but finally making progress once again. Fighting games are weird. You do nothing but lose and you get better with every match. You do nothing but win and your skill goes down.
This is my first Tekken game. I made the mistake of picking Hwoarang as the first character I try to learn, so my progress hasn't been great, but I'm getting to the point where I can pull off a couple of combos with him. I still get absolutely destroyed online, but it's fun when I can land the moves I do know.
Walking allover green shitters, currently bobbing up and down in yellow, either ranks aren't anymore what they used to be or I actually got better.
I think it's the former.
Former blueshitter here. Went up in rank a bunch.
Just bought pic related used for 65 buckaroos on kijiji. Never played on a stick, but after a couple hours my character's footsies are 2x faster and hitting those big buttons feel so good
man I wish I tried fighting games before
I'm stuck in light blue ranks. Highest I've gotten is Expert but I always get antsy when the promo chance comes and end up doing dumb shit which kills me.
Got an hrap4 for like 80, sniped it with 3 seconds left
Guy said he only used it for 2 tourneys and I don't think he was lying
I wish the rest of the controls were on the top like that one tho
Got promoted to Initiate a little while ago, I keep doing retarded shit and forget most of Feng's moves and fuck his combo up but I'm getting somewhere at least.
Who is easier
Feng or Dragunov
I'm really new and bad at fg's btw
Dragunov is stronger overall but Feng has a more diverse toolkit. I'd suggest Feng since with Dragunov theres a danger of relying on his strong moves/setups instead of getting better at the game.
Unless you just wanna win, then go Drag
Yeah I was looking for someone that would help me develop rather than just get quick wins at low levels
Don't drink and play kids
>friend comes over
>ask him if he wants to see the new tekken
>"no, user. I don't like Tekken. I tried to play Tekken 3 when i was a kid, but i don't have the fingers"
*shows him tekken 7*
>loves it
>he smiles even when he gets raped
Been a while since we played a game together.
Who is the greates cancer in the game and why is it Hwoarang?
Got ranked to marauder today
feels pretty gud after 2 weeks stuck in grand master
How long does it usually take to get out of green rank if you've never passed it before?
Nice. I just got finished soldering and fastening some mx cherry blue switches to the little board the joystick communicates through on mine. Feels fuckin' nice. I can switch between WASD and joystick with no lag because for all tents and porpoises they're the same input.
hardest part was drilling and filing out the holes to put the switches through.
Just started learning claudio today after starting with Lee
Then going to Bryan
Kazuya
Jin
Back to Bryan
Feng
Law
Back to Bryan again
Yoshi
Dragunov
Back to Bryan again
Back to jin
Bob
Leo
Asuka
Then finally I'm on claudio.
got her up to brawler. Feels pretty good
where do u rest ur left hand when its on the stick
or do u do wineglass or something
Actually, I started transitioning yesterday. Just painted my nails.
Now I just gotta lose weight.
*shrug*
Kind of tired of ranked battles. Tourneys take forever to fill and usually break before finals. Got tons of fight money and no items I really want at the moment. Mostly just been messing around in practice mode figuring out how to defend against specific attacks and taking silly photos.
How do you get to a screen like that where you just take pics?
>tfw too scared to go online so you only do treasure and practice mode
Fuckin Treasure Battle.
I've been grinding for days just to get that Heaven T-Shirt because I think I can make a decent lookalike of King's T3 Alt Outfit.
Just do it. I meet some retarded Jin at 3rd dan that did not even know how to attack crouching opponent. I could literally sit ducked under him for whole match and he wouldn't land a hit.
Finally getting King's wavedash down after hours of practice.
You can turn off most the HUD in practice in the display options.
Good post, user.
switch kick buttons
put turbo on X
pick katarina
go whack off or sleep
I'm slowly moving up. Right now I'm just playing unranked online battles.
Been using Yoshi and having a blast. So much to learn though. I'm trying to incorporate his stances more, especially on okizumi
>where do u rest ur left hand when its on the stick
or do u do wineglass or something
It doesn't really seem like much of a problem, but I definitely don't have any specific joystick technique or anything
>White guy playing fighting games
show me play with ur stick more bb ;)
Terrible. I spent too much time grinding treasure battle when I should've spent it learning the cast. These strings are such fucking bullshit.
>tfw to retarded to react too lows
figured out who I want to play, ranked up with that character some
now to get better at 2p movement
who u playin
That's a very unusual grip.
I have never really got into fighting games, but a friend of mine gifted me a fight stick (pic related) and now i want to give them a try.
How is tekken 7 for almost complete beginners? also is that a good fight stick or does it not matter?
Pic i forgot
already dropped it.
fix your shit harada.
Not that user but I'm also super new to fighting games but tekken 7 is interesting me. What would be the character(s) that are beginner friendly but give you the foundation to learn proper fighting game strategy rather than just easy to learn cheap combo that stops working past the noob ranks?
>went online with Akuma for fun
>won the first tournament I entered without much trouble
Do people not know how easily you can punish Akuma by sidestepping all his moves?
Stick looks fine with what looks like proper sanwa buttons and joystick. Tekken 7 is fine for beginner but don't expect instant gratification especially in fighting games. You are playing against people who have been playing these games and other fighting games for decades.
Of course, i expect awhile before i am even okay. Any good tips/good beginner charaters/ect?
>tfw when finally starting to land more and more taunt cancel Jet Uppers
Lars and Feng, Paul but he's dishonest and most people who play him are spamming shitters
wat u don liek
And you will never get past that because all you retarded alisa waifufags can do is spam that flying move which does 2 hits. No one gets hit by that after blues
Lobbies make the game unplayably shit.
>start a match
>sync
>select character
>select stage
>sync
>load
>match is over after a minute
>get kicked back into lobby
>have to do all this again
Fuck this shit, this wasnt acceptable in 2009.
Is there an ending from this series that always stuck with you for some weird reason? Hwoarang's ending from Tekken 5 always stuck with me even though I don't give a shit about him.
Slowly. Thought I was gonna like Gigas and Jack but Lucky Chloe ended up clicking more.
Is it?
You just reminded me of this move Christ I'm so mad, some faggot spammed that move and beat me because it was my first Alisa I played against. Went into training and the only solution I've found is sidestepping after you block the first hit
Why is that fucking move plus on block? Man fuck spamming waifufags
It very much depends on which character just "feels" right for you. Just try them out and find out which one has a playstyle that works for you. Like I am personally a defensive player aka 'turtle' player and in most fighting games I normally play grapplers so characters like Jack 7 and Asuka work very well for me.
For you I'd say avoid Yoshimitsu, Hwoarang, Steve Fox, Heihachi, Kazuya, Devil Jin, Xiaoyou, Nina. These characters are kinda more advanced to really be learning for a new player.
I'd say anyone else is fair game but some characters are easier to pick up than others like Lars, Paul, Jack 7, Law, Shaheen, Feng, Alisa, Bob. But seriously I don't know your rate of learning so just pick a character and mess about for a bit until you get a nice feel for the game so maybe you like how Steve Fox plays and want to really get good with him and that's fine but you'll have to put in far more effort as a newcomer.
Speaking of that, how the fuck do you play Alisa? Feels like my moves are too slow and lose to a lot.
>Practice a character.
>Stuck in a rank.
>Play Katarina and only know basic shit, no real combos.
>Katraina is now higher ranked than the character I practiced.
Damn it. Maybe I should just play the Hoochie Mama.
Save got corrupted
*shrugs* not really an Alisa player but from my experimentation with her it seems like she's a very poke orientated character. Friend is telling me she has good homing moves? So people who sidestep frequently might get tagged with some of her hits and then you might make them stop sidestepping too much as a result.
Hoochie Mama is braindead and will teach you bad habits.
I've been trying to get to Vanq for days.
Ursurper demoted back to Ursurper demoted. Also every one is 3 bars
Me too, I found that ending ominous as fuck with the music and Devil Jin's glowing eyes while Hwoarang is fucked up and he struggles to stand still, I always thought he died after that fight
On a similar note, Devil Jin's ending in T5 and Jin's ending on T3, but also Siegfried's bad ending in Soulblade and Tira's bad ending in SoulCalibur 3, I guess it kinda worries me when a character gets fucked over or "evil wins" kind of thing after being triumphant over a series of battles
because nobody would play her otherwise
jin now
What move is this? I play Alisa mostly and can't really tell which move you guys are talking about.
>Playing with friends
>Hit random cause fuck it
>Get Katarina, never played her once
>Push shit in with random select inputs
she's dumb as fuck
What bad habit?
Initiate here, are there any tips to make movement easier or do I just have to practice KBD and sidestepping more? I'm losing to scrubby shit that I know I could beat if I could get away from it but I'm having trouble properly moving. Using an xbone pad and playing Lili if that makes a difference
>tekken literally had less views than injustice
THE SFV KILLER AMIRITE GUYS?
Judging by the comments I don't think they do either lmao
Yeah she is, but I would say she's just as dumb as Kazumi. The only difference is Kazumi doesn't have a string be a single button press.
>Are you progressing user?
yep... the uninstall is all done and the franchise abandoned
Feng. He doesn't have to do iWR2. Both have the same problem of having a lot of moves for different niche situations instead of a few staple moves for many situations, though.
i just got a 200 win streak on treasure battle
pc?
I think it's b+1+2, 1+2
>Hung out with a few friends a little over a year back
>Most of them only want to play Smash
>convinced a few of them to try Tekken TTT2 on the WiiU
>Me and one friend spend over an hour playing off each other. We both suck so it's great playing back and forth
>End up playing Panda v Kuma matches for awhile
>Have a great time, we're both laughing
>The rest don't care and just want to play Smash, refusing a chance to play.
I know the feel, for one fleeting moment, I knew the feel of fighting games with friends. And now that I'm 27, I'll never know that feel again..
Any Sup Forums PS4 lobbies open?
No, and there never will be.
Why not?
I'm at Fighter with Kazumi and at Vanguard on Asuka, probably gonna pick up another character now. Thinking about Josie, Yoshimitsu, Bryan or DJin.
The game doesn't get shit online, because it checked the boxes. Recommended because it ticks all the right boxes. 10/10. 4hours played
Because I said so.
The game takes too long for you to actually feel like you are playing a fighting game instead of just learning bullshit moves, so I dropped it.
I don't have time to spend another thousand hours on a fighting game franchise just so I can play it for real.
this
i should've stopped after the same thing happened with the new street fighter
takes like 6 hours to 100% everything. how casual can you get.
street fighter characters have like 20 moves total, what are you talking about
>100% everything
i think he's talking about playing against people and learning how to git gud
No you idiot I'm talking about learning the appropriate reaction to every move your opponents will throw at you.
What are you even talking about? You only need to learn what your launchers are and how to combo off them and you already fuck up people until you get to green ranks.
i am not good at fighting games, im not used to doing input presses with my right hand very well and it's hard to string together the presses to do combos
i spent an hour just trying to do a simple 5 hit combo on king, never got past the 3rd hit
what combo?
>tfw know nothing about arcade sticks so can't play the gamd
Fuckin gay ass faggot god damn piss baby shit fucker cock sucker. Just sell it with the stick if it's fucking required anyway.
you get good from playing the game not moaning about how shit you are
play the fucking game then
I want to play the game properly, not just abuse opponent's lack of knowledge of the game and spam punishable moves that weak players can't recognize.
And most people have realized the exact same thing and will spam sweeps that do 40% with the combo followup.
The game is not fun at all if you are trying to legitimately get good at it instead of just beat weak players.
This game is frustrating for me because I can't seem to settle on a main, I can't find someone who makes me go "Yeah this is my character, I'll keep playing them", I always want to try someone else instead
Started on Kazumi, then Claudio, then Alisa, now I'm trying to learn Kazuya and thinking about Xiaoyu
