Nah, it's not that bad. I personally dig its almost oldschool low-poly visuals a lot, though some of the HD port's visual changes are a bit questionable. Still not an eyesore, and has good atmosphere.

I played dofus, RO and WoW 10 years ago.

MMO are excellent at an early stage to fuck around with friends and when there's no meta involved.

Otherwise it's literally just a dick size competition on who has lost the most time grinding and farming like fucking zombies, apart from a really small minority, there's no skill involved.

I played the PC port for the first time just couple months ago, and I was blown away by it. My first playthrough alone took me over 80 hours, and I've now clocked almost 200 hours to it, with two full, finished replays.

For starters, the gameplay is just great fun, with the huge cast providing lots of variation. The world and lore are interesting as hell, not to mention the plot and events are super dark for an FF game. They keep a lot of the bigger things a secret for VERY long, some even up until NG+. And the best thing is, they got a good story and gameplay reasons for that.
