It's going to be either a small roster or copy/pasted playstyles, not both.

If characters are going to play like clones of each other they could easily fill a roster of 30+ characters.

MVCI has good gameplay and will possibly have Capcom's AND Marvel's money pumped (if Marvel doesn't pull the plug after the shitshow that is happening) into Esports. Pros will have a fun game, while making the same or more cash.
Players from all games are saying how DBFZ has something from their main games. The playerbase has potential to be huge. The game may not last long, but I can see it having more entrants than SFV next EVO.

People forget why DBZ games had such retarded rosters anyway. It was for the sake of story mode. Half of the roster of Budokai 3 could have been NPCs, they only existed to be beaten in the campaign.

And then when they started the Tenkaichi series they got rid of in-game transformations and made every transformation its own character. So the already bloated roster got blown up even more. And then the sequels to those games needed new characters as a selling point, which is why it eventually hit the 150 character mark.

That's all been lost. Now faggots just think a DBZ game has to have 50+ characters or it's trash, just out of principle. Nobody actually plays as most of those fucking people.

i want clone characters because they are faster to create, and i want a big roster, but i also want a deep fighting system, unliken almost all dragon ball games, MvC2 haved a lot of clone characters and also have a deep gameplay unlike teankaichi budokai.

Played it at anime expo and there was a huge as fuck line. I didn't believe there was any real hype but it was literally like thirty minutes to play the game and there were like 10 booths limited to one game each. I'm pretty sure it'll be massively popular.

I mean the characters look pretty similar to their extreme butoden counterparts except with 3d models instead of sprites so I'm not too worried about them being unique.
Hell I have to wonder if this game was in the works for a while and those sprites were really just models for this game turned into sprites to make some cash before going all in.
