When this generation of consumer VR was still fresh, two third person games I actually enjoyed were Lucky's Tale and Chronos. Third person isn't that impressive in VR, but it was still interesting to see how well it works. One of the questions I ask myself when playing a VR game is "would I enjoy this outside of VR?". For Chronos it was a big yes (however, not for that price). But Lucky's Tale really didn't feel like anything special. I enjoyed it, I played through it two or three times, but playing that on a monitor/TV would probably be one of the most boring platforming experiences I could have. I hope they do flesh out the world a lot and create something really cool to play out of VR, but I just can't see it doing well.

For those without VR, Lucky's Tale is a bare-bones platformer which feels like Crash meets Mario, but made easy enough for children under 6 to beat it. That would HAVE to change for it to be enjoyable out of VR.

It was a barebones platformer that had VR gimmicks to "help" Lucky through levels and such.
Without those gimmicks it's just a barebones platformer.
