Is it one of the best games ever made?
Terraria
I don't know , i played it last time 2012.
yes, it was potentially just a 2d Minecraft gimmick game, but it proved how amazing you could make Minecraft with expertly done Metroidvania mechanics
Any game that references the movie Phantasm is a great game, but I don't think its a best game.
it is incredibly fun and was a pleasant surprise to see how much there was to do.
def in my top 10
Pre hardmode it is.
Having to know ahead of time to chunk up your world with trenches and tunnels from end to end so it ddoesnt get JUSTED by corruption/hollow should have been better warned/presented though
The attack helicopter part was pretty on rails but apart from that.
It's pretty great, but not my cup of tea.
I find it quite shallow in terms of content, after I explored whole world I got bored and quit.
>I find it quite shallow in terms of content
Then clearly you didn't play it.
It's good but I can't play it single player anymore and I have no friends and no patience to play with memelords either so
ripip
The amount of content is definitely a strong point of the game.
He might have played launch version.
When Terraria came out it was pretty lacking, it didn't even have bunny rabbits.
Over the years the amount of content has grown massively, maybe like 4 times the original games content.
>wooden sword/bow/axe/hammer/armor
>iron sword/bow/axe/hammer/armor
>silver sword/bow/axe/hammer/armor
>lava sword/bow/axe/hammer/armor
>obsidian sword/bow/axe/hammer/armor
wow, never seen this before!
did you even beat any bosses
did you reach hardmode
did you find the minibosses that show up after a certain amount of nights or whatever
did you build literally anything
did you just walk ocean to ocean and go "MAN THIS IS GAY"
he clearly did not
>want to play terraria with friends
>their attention span is so low and they immediately get bored with it
>too shit to solo endgame bosses
I thought so, and then I played Starbound last week.
Starbound has leaps and bounds over this game now. It is so fucking good.
...So yeah, come back when you actually played the game. This is only further proof that you don't know about what you're talking about.
starbound is shit, tho
How has Starbound improved since launch? I was very excited for it and then disappointed when actually playing it.
Shut up. I beat all pre-hardmode bosses and spent tens of hours on base building. The only thing I haven't seen were clouds.
is it really worth playing now?
eh
Its still like a not as good Terraria in space.
A full quest driven story. Amazing soundtrack. Own a space station. Upgrade your ship. Build colonies that generate quests and have people pay rent. A sort of randomized loot system. Flying around in an upgradable mech and raid ships/dungeons.
I have 400 hours in Terraria. I like starbound more after a week of playing it. I had bought it when it came out and hated it. Now I am a fanboy after going back this last week.
terraria has some great mods too
i have 150+ in vanilla
you sound like an advert
gonna have to call it here lads
shill
I didn't realize terraria even had a mod scene
I tried playing it again recently and I know all these features are in the game.
Its just getting to them is so boring.
Yeah the grind can get brutal. I am just an autist in between jobs right now.
tmodloader has breathed whole new life into the game for me
There are a few good mods that add a fuckton of content
Thorium is a good place to start
It's good enough to start completely fresh once a year. I've been doing that since release.
So it literally is still the same shit i played 1 month ago, good to know
>I beat all pre-hardmode bosses
Probably because hardmode wasn't there yet when you played it the last time.
>I beat all pre-hardmode bosses
That's not even 50%
>I beat all pre-hardmode bosses
thats like 30% of the game at most
>buying the game at launch and loving it even at the time
>seeing all the additions and improvements added over time
great game
