Will it outsell the PS2?
Will it outsell the PS2?
No, it won't even outsell the PS1
Not unless the cost can reach 100 dollars, like the PS2 and Wii.
I kinda sorta wanna get a PS4. Original or Pro? Not choosing Slim because Digimon World Cyber Sluts crashes on that thing for some forsaken reason, and Bamco, the fuckers, never patched it.
B-BUT NINTENDO!
>60 million in three years
>Won't outsell the PSOne
Yeah, okay.
I don't expect anything to reach PS2/DS levels again
No, neither the PS1 but it may cross 100 million and barely beat the Wii, keyword 'may'
By a conservative measure it should be around 90-95 million at the end of its lifespan
Almost 4 years, and the PS5 will be released in either 2018 or 2019 so it won't have time to outsell the PS1.
PS2 was a cheap DVD player that happened to play games so no. Nothing will ever outsell the PS2 because most people didn't buy the PS2 for gaming.
If you're not going for the Slim (which I highly recommend), probably go for the OG model that is if Digiman doesn't crash on that platform as well. There's only a handful of games that the Pro improve. Personally, I don't think the Pro is worth it.
>PS5 will be released in either 2018 or 2019
Delusional
If all upcoming years are like this one in terms of games then yeah there's a chance
Sony are already hinting at it
more people bought a ps2 to play pirated football games than they did to watch dvds
>If all upcoming years are like this one in terms of games
So a few good niche Japanese games at the start of the year and then nothing?
if it got softmodded and u could play gaems like years ago straight from tpb then yes
it would be the ultimate console
I know the Slim is an improvement, but Cyber Sleuth is unironically one of the things I wanna play the most. I loved Digimon as a kid, so yeah.
Good way to minimize things
Seeing how lackluster the Wii U and Xbone are/were, and that the Switch is pretty new I'd say so.
What else will you play on beside this and a PC?
It already did.
Just not in your country.
>the PS5 will be released in either 2018 or 2019
Publishers are starting to follow the Nintendo 3DS trend. They'd rather make several versions of a successful system, while improving it, than make a new one from scratch and risk a fortune.
Sony only has a hand full of games left in the year.
>Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
>Knack II
>Grand Turismo Sport
>Everybody's Golf
>Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds (DLC)
That's really all from the top of my head. I know there are some niche weeb games somewhere, but I don't really know.
>>Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
Glorified DLC
>>Knack II
lmao
>>Grand Turismo Sport
An actual game
>>Everybody's Golf
Basically shovelware, it looks inferior to Mario Golf on the Gamecube and only runs at 30fps
>>Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds (DLC)
DLC for a shit game
2017 being a good year is a meme.
>Gran Turismo Sport
Been looking forward to it,no way that can be fucked up that I can think of.Polyphony had the chance to do shady shit last gen,and wasn't too greedy with the DLC.
Yeah the switch's year is way better and we're only month 4
No, but it will do fine.
Saw it used for $160 at a pawn shop, almost considered one. I might do it for RDR2. Don't really want to wait around for a PC version of that.
Why people do these type of posts? Do they really think their opinion are worth giving a damn about?
>RDR2
If it happens,it won't be called that.Sort of like Skyrim 2,still a shitty idea that was spread by waves of blind fans who think sequels need a higher number on the cover than the last title.
Never said any of these games are good. In fact the holiday line up is very pitiful. Q1 of 2017 was pretty good for Sony, and they're obviously banking on 2018.
>God of War
>Shadow of the Colossus
>Spider-Man
>Days Gone
>Detroit: Become Human
Some more shit I'm forgetting...
Better be the best. This will the series' twentieth anniversary this year.
To get noticed, they just want attention, and it makes them feel superior, "look at my taste, look how it's different and superior, please notice me give me attention"
Paid online nope
lol wot
Yeah sure. Let's cuck PS4 pro users.
Not him, but, honestly, I don't see it unlikely, seeing how the industry is right now.
However, I also believe this generation is gonna be kinda long, like the previous one.
>God of War
>Shadow of the Colossus
>Spider-Man
>Days Gone
>Detroit: Become Human
All of those look terrible. A bunch of QTE-infested garbage and a fucking shameful MUH PIXELS remake of a classic.
Screencap this, Sony will release a new console in 2018. SERIOUSLY
pro improves every AAA release in some capacity. It only doesn't have an effect on most indie stuffs.
Which is totally fair, if you mostly buy indies or jap localizations it probably won't be worth the extra $100 but otherwise, i'd absolutely recommend the pro over the base model. the base model and the pro are just as loud as one another so if you're not getting a slim for that nice hushed fan, then absolutely get a pro, might as well get more power with your dust magnet jet engine.
why would they? microsoft dug themselves into this gen even further so that means they can continue to milk the absolute domination of the ps4 for another 2-3 years.
Agreed,6 did great graphics-wise even on the PS3.Who knows what the PS4 can do,I'm more hyped in the hope that the version for the Pro console is given even better enhancements. If they do pull DLC like in 5,I hope it'll be bundled with copies later on.
Pro has a "Boost Mode" or some shit that forces better performance on games, doesn't it?
in theory. It rarely actually does anything in my personal experience though. Makes games that pro somehow runs worse play as they normally would though. lots of games with pro optimizations tend to run like hot ass on pro before the pro patch drops, which isn't fun at all. abttlefield 1 was a good example. Ran at like ~20 fps on pro, then ran at 60fps with the pro patch, then they cut it back to 30fps.
but boost mode barely does anything even when it is doing something, it cut down on the severe framedrops I had playing online in bloodborne, by which I mean removed them outright. It wasn't a stable 30fps or anything, but I went from getting pretty bad stuttering and drops to having 0 whatsoever.
also the working wifi is really nice.
I don't know, does it have the same failure rate?
>PS2
>failure rates
I think I hear a myth,Sony didn't mess around in build quality then up till the PS3.Only a matter of time to see if the PS4 is still just as solid.
Did you forget the first half of the year exclusives?
Nioh, Gravity Rush 2, Persona 5, Horizon etc?
This has been a fantastic year. Stop looking at Q4 only, that's a multiplat thing at best to only release big titles in November in this day and age.
God of War is coming March 2018 and will probably be Sony's best seller for that year.
I said left in the year, not the beginning. Q1 was fantastic.
oh ok, sorry, misread your post
you know it was already announced right
lmao
Are there any good games for it? I platinumed th e crash games last night, i played BB now I'm starting to regret buying it
I lost 2 PS2s fat, both times the optical drive failed.
