Last episode I watched the new doctor was killing an alien with a leaf and I knew they'd fucking lost the ability to make a good episode. There's a special place in my heart for the first two doctors of the reboot though. Everyone watched that shit because their parents remembered the older ones and we'd seen reruns. I want to blame the American fans it gained for making it shit but in my heart I just think I grew up

there are some good episodes here and there, although the ending is kind of an asspull the couple episodes where capaldi doctor tries to save clara through a timeloop are cool

I wanted to blame its dramatic increase in popularity for making the writers feel like it needed to be something it wasn't, not really that a lot of fans were American. The writers might have done that anyway though so that's why I feel like I just grew out of it.

The problem with the show is that almost every episode is written by someone different so the difference in quality is huge. Sometimes it's actually good, most of the time it's just mediocre, and the sometimes it's one of the worst shows I've ever watched.

Do you ever wonder what the education system is going to look like 50 years from now? They're going to retcon history and write this stuff into textbooks.

I think that Peter Capaldi actually does a great job as the Doctor. Unfortunately, literally everything else about the show - and I mean literally - is complete and utter garbage, especially the companions. Actually it's just the fashionably ethnic female ones, the guy played by Matt Lucas is actually pretty good.

Oh, and now according to the BBC black people wuz everythang and shieet. Black people goddamn everywhere in early 1800's London, black Roman legionaries, black Zulu war-era redcoats - you name it, and the BBC will be sure to remind you that we wuz it.
