The series had it's peak during Ratchet 3, after that the games became more childish, smaller and easier, the new game is not a perfect reboot, it's not even close to the charm of the first game

Deadlocked was actually really fun, and still possessed some of the old Ratchet and Clank humor in-between the edge which was lost when Insomniac tried to take the games 'seriously' with the Future titles

Hope for it to just be a tech demo for a new game because it looks gorgeous.

I forgot Gladiator and i never played it much, but i have played the ps3 Ratchet games and the new and nothing beats the originals

I liked the ps3 version, the newest one is somehow a bit boring to me, can't put my finger on it. voice acting is still funny though.

I loved the PS4 game, but I agree that All-4-One, Into The Nexus, and Full Frontal Assault sucked.

Meh. They've been making shooters for the better part of over a decade now. Why not fall for the open world meme for once? Besides Sunset Overdrive, they've never really touched the stuff. Most of their games since the 90's have been tightly woven, linear (for the most part), platformer, shooter, puzzles.

Call me a shill but watching this video having never played a Ratchet and Clank game before singlehandedly convinced me to drop my current backlog, borrow a PS3 with R&C HD Trilogy (since I tried emulating and the games don't emulate well at all) and play the first game.

I beat it a few days ago and it was glorious. Really impressed by how huge the game was and how much effort was made in making each planet look alive and huge as soon as you stepped off your ship, and that it ran at 60fps in 2002 while looking this good (Mario Sunshine was 30).
Though I feel like some charm was even lost going forward into Going Commando where everything is smoother and the gameplay is better and yet the story isn't taken as seriously and the Ratchet + Clank banter is toned down.

Hell, with the smoother control and way more responsive and powerful gunplay, level design is forced to accommodate tons of more enemies in waves since your guns are that much more capable of tearing through them, and so even with the objectively better gameplay there's some amount of devolution from "platformer with strategic gunplay" to "ratatatatatata blast a 100 enemies with some occasional platforming"

i mean sure its not as good, but its still good.

It's alright, I didn't like the mini-planets too much, it felt bland and small compared to the older games.

The R&C1 remake was dumb but it looked nice and played alright, it's acceptable despite the flaws of the design decisions like qwark narrating everything to act like a guide.

Did you not know what Cooperative mesnt? It was in the very first menu.

I'd have to boot up my PS2 to see how dumb I was but the disk drive broken down and since Sony is retarded I can't play it on PS3 and PS4.

CiT is probably my favorite in the series, right after GC and Deadlocked. The Clank puzzles in CiT were absolutely GOAT.

I just gotta say that the remake of Odin Sphere is a master class on what a remake should be. Has trouble getting into the original and didn't even finish it, but the remake is fucking addictive.
