Real life

soma

>been listening to this games soundtrack again
anyone know more music similar? Other than Angelo Badalamenti and Trent Reznor of course

Aphex twin and death grips beats. Otherwise i would just say nin/trenty

Familiar with both of them. Wouldn't say either of them are similar except Druqks and the more industrial side of Akira to Death Grips is a stretch.

Throbbing Gristle.

I've played this game (and the others) so many times over the years, Silent Hill feels homey.

Siren has by far the most uninviting and oppressive atmosphere I've experienced in a game

I've never played the game, the only one in the series that I've played is 4, is the HD collection any good? if not then what should I do then.

This place.

The other Silent Hill games, of course.

Seconding Throbbing Gristle. Listen to their second and third annual reports.
Psych TV's a must too.
Also, Nurse With Wound's work.

How is Death Grips remotely similar?
Fuck off Sup Forums
Play Killer7

Do NOT play those abominations. Play the PC versions, they are super easy to pirate and generally the superior versions. For SH1, PSN has it or emulate.

20 Jazz Funk Greats is great too

...

On top of what other people said Skinny Puppy has some very atmospheric industrial too.

> is the HD collection any good
Worst fucking porting ever

I can't replay this game because once I realized I'm safe from enemies most of the time, all those bizarre noises which added to the experience on the first playthrough just felt hollow.

playing Fallout 3 at 2 AM is depressing

playing anything in the am is depressing if you're self-aware enough

playing fallout 3 is depressing.

s.t.a.l.k.e.r, misery or not.

It builds A T M O S P H E R E

Then it stops being depressing once you become even more self aware and realize there's nothing wrong with how or when you spend your free time.

Yeah, Stalker has incredible atmosphere. Perfectly oppressive.

Stalker is a good choice. The game can get kinda boring, though. There's also Silent Hill 1 and 3 (IMO, SH3 had an even better atmosphere than SH1/2).

i'll go with real life too

>SH3 had an even better atmosphere than SH1/2
My man.

the first Siren for PS2 is available on PS4, should I buy it for ten bucks?

Its a flawed game but its good. There's blood curse for ps3 which is a remake from the first Siren. It's an even better game. The only problem with it it's that it's a bit on the short side.
