what do you want from fire emblem switch
Fire emblem switch
I want Switch marketers to disappear
SLAYDE!
no waifu shit
I've never played any Fire Emblem games. Are they worth checking out?
Isn't warriors coming out next month?
yes path of radiance and the gba games are good starting points since they have in depth tutorials
For all characters to have bigger roles in the story and have events such as special recruits, deaths and marriages actually be acknowledged as you play the game and not just at the end.
Start with Thracia 776. It's the most beginner friendly game in the series
>No shoehorned child unit shit
>No almighty, special-snowflake player OC unit like Robin/Corrin
>Level design on par with older games
>Echoes' or FE8-10 art direction
Do that, and I'll buy it.
takes deep breath
>no child units instead the game creates interesting and difficult side objectives for the player to beat if he wants extra units.
>game is built around linearity and conversing exp resources. a mode with grinding is added for casuals to stupid to play the game properly like casual mode.
>instead of making dlc chapters the devs focus there attention of creating chapters for the main campaign making it extra meaty.
>a actual story on par with teilus
>remove the custom main character but if he stays write him in a way to where your actions reflect on who he is and reduce his presence in the story.
>varied objectives more defend the castle and less route the enemy and defeat the boss
>third tier classes
>dragoon veins make a return. i know Sup Forums thinks this is a gimmick but i like being able to influence the map
>finds a way to establish it's characters outside of support conversations.
>change the support system back to the classic one but remove the limits for number of convos.
>choices that influence the story
I want the game to be all about Lucina.
Make it more complicated so it's not rock paper scissors with tiles. Make it like FFT.
>remove all of the things casuals love about NuFire Emblem.
They want to sell the game.
that shits gay bruh, gimme my self inserts an kids, then i'll buy it.
OP asked what I want from the game, not what I think will sell the most.
Also, throw in what this guy said regarding the support system.
Stay mad, sonygro.
good models
good animations
good maps
good class balance
that's about all i expect from FE. if we get good story/characters that's a bonus, but it has literally never happened so i'm not holding my breath.
Can I just jump right into Warriors?
in yo dreams
waifus 4 lyfe
>Echoes art direction
LORD yes
Less focus on debuffs
No kids
No avatar
Warriors only covers the last two big games in the series (Awakening/Fates), so I suppose. Though Warriors plays nothing like FE.
kill yourself
I loved the whole Bonus EXP system, Maybe don't bring that back but some sort of base gimmick that doesn't go through the internet.
Also remove any ability to grind, everytime there's a possibility to grind in FE, I break the game and its no longer fun.
Go back to Neogaf
Will the game in the OP play like FE?
I want it to fail so that Nintendo stops pretending it sells as well as their biggest franchises so we can get some actual diversity in their releases instead of a million fire emblem games a vocal minority want
More waifu shit
Well, it'll be a turn-based-tactics game yeah. But we don't know if it'll lean more towards nuFE or classic FE.
Cool. Thanks.
As much as i like Hidari, I don't think her style fits FE that much. Might as well use Yabuki Kentaro at that point.
Waifus
Avatar unit
Marriage/child units
More weapons added to the weapon triangle
Infinite durability weapons
Remove tile bonuses
Reclassing
Casual mode
Skills
What do you guys think of unit pair ups? Does it run the game?
Naga's Turnweel
remove the combat and story and have it be a groping simulator
no naga's turnweel prevents the player from meaningfully thinking about the level
Reincarnated Fates characters
>I hope Camilla will come back under a different name and a little more sexier outfit.
Its less about the style and more about the character design. The designs in Echoes are closer to classic FE designs than the nuFE stuff.
Fates handled it pretty well, but I don't like how much power pair-up attacks give to an alpha strike. A lot of Conquest is playing rocket tag with enemies that have 50% more health than your guys. It was better than Awakening where enemies just did 36 damage with 68% accuracy though.
I'm conflicted.
>Infinite durability weapons
>Reclassing
>Skills
Are these supposed to be negatives?
Reclassing and infinite durability are trash.
I want all of these things unironically.
Why would you suggest negatives?
>I like less options and tedious, obsolete mechanics!
Good lad.
I want it to be like Old FE and not have shit writing and bad characters and maps like Fates
Kozaki is fine. Besides nuFE takes place thousands of years after SD. Designs change a little.
>Level design on par with older games
THIS!
Fire Emblem Zoo with 500% more fucking dragons and beasts.
Ports/remakes of Radiant Dawn/PoR or Binding/Blazing blade, or FE4/5, waifu shit optional if they think it'll sell more, more supports, and good art/animations.
Literally don't give a shit beyond that, if they make a new FE then just have it have difficulty/design that at least nears Conquest since that scratched an itch I haven't gotten scratched in a while.
>localization
>her name is Llamica, the independent black onee san
This is the dumbest post on the board right now.
>less options
If a character is supposed to be a mage, then they are mages. You don't just turn a healer into a wyvern rider. Its retarded.
>tedious, obsolete mechanics
If you're an absolute retard and can't into basic inventory management, maybe.
>Level design on par with older games
I have never got this meme.
It implies that the older games had more great maps than shit ones.
When they say "older games" they mean "Radiant Dawn".
Play Path of Radiance and/or Radiant Dawn
Those games five you more transforming beast units than every other FE game ever released combined, and i get why because theres so fucking many species in those ones so they gotta give you 1 or 2 of each to taste the platter, but in the new ones theres only two per game(Manakete&Taguel/Wolfsegner/Kitsunes respectively)
I want base conversations and bonus exp to return
Have they not played Radiant Dawn?
Or do they only remember the defend chapters?
Because most of part 4 and the endgame maps are trash.
And a stupid amount of part three has either open fields, swamps or both.
Yes, absolutely, ignore the other user, Thracia 776 is the hardest fire emblem game that currently exists (albeit if for the wrong reasons)
Start out with 7 or 8
-Fates pair up, but make defence stance less useful
-Stamina
-Equippable skills like in Tellius
-More movement skills like the ones in the gatcha game
-Proc skills use up this "magic" gauge instead of skill based %, and you can choose to use the skill and use up magic, manually in battles.
-More variety in map objectives and more maps under a time limit or have an incentive that encourages the player to move around fast.
-Expansion on the debuff and buff system (like make a restore staff that remove debuffs so then inevitable end skill can be balanced)
-More gaiden chapters
-Bonus Exp
-Maps that encourage offensive and movement staves more (although no warp and rewarp staves)
-Range modifiers for bow users (like the mini bow)
I'd be honestly still fine if they still have the avatar, children and marriage, tbqh.
Even Radiant Dawn has its shit maps like the bridge chapter (basically deploy Haar: the chapter) or most of the chapters in Part 4 (Rout fests.)
Ok, so Sup Forums wants FE to die due to low sales
Everything dies eventually.
May as well go out on a high note.
How would you guys feel if Kentaro Miura did the next game's art
How would you like that flavor?
Yeah people forget the really open maps
Conquest really has the best maps in the series, I'd be happy if the new FE retains that. What really baffles me is that conquest map game is great while Revelations 3rd map is a long as fuck map that needs to be completed with only 3 characters
why not a huge cross universal event where you have every unit from every FE?
More chaotic defense maps and new, interesting mechanics or gimmicks.
Also wyverns.
Radiant dawn really failed because of Nintendo
>No Marketing
>Released around the same time as fucking Super Mario Galaxy
It's like they wanted that game to fail.
Shadow Dragon and New Mystery are hardly high notes.
That's pretty much what awakening was with the einfarts
It's like there's already a game for that, but I'm not sure where to put my finger on...
I want Sup Forumss general opinions to be discarded
Eugenics and good leve design where most characters are usable. I love CQs levels but too many characters are complete shit
I'm only fine with Eugenics if it's done like Conquest where you can't grind for everyone
Gotta prioritise which marriages you really want.
I wish we could get more outside-of-the box map objectives
Like protecting a giant golem (who is strong but has the Armor weakness, so you know what units to prioritize killing to protect the golem, but there are also myrmidons with K-Edges that are deadly to your units so you gotta kinda weigh those odds) or something while it gets to a wall to smash it during a siege
That sounds stupid.
It's just an example
You can reduce it to "protect a big moving defense objective" if you'd like
I think the way Conquest handled its children, gameplay wise, was well done. A lot of them aren't OP, unlike they were in Awakening, but rather they were just decent or good as long as you chose a good pairing (like Percy, Velouria, Nina, Siegbert, and Ophelia) Also helps that some of their paralogues are fun to play like Nina's, Solaire's, and Forrest's.
Can't recall the last time I had to protect a green unit. More factions in the story like in the old games would be great.
I agree but i feel the children should have some advantages and disadvantages that their parents dont, the label of "child units" is kind of redundant when they're just literally just like any other unit functionally speaking
On a seperate note balance is important too, Morgan is the most broken OP walking death machine motherfucker in any of these games and this franchise has been around for fucking years introducing varying degrees of strong characters
Conquest has the best level design in the entire series.
Aye, the closest thing to that recently was the red vs green army in Yarne's xenologue in awakening
One that I can stand playing for more than 30 hours.
Would you play a sequel to Awakening starring Lucina that takes place 15 years later and she's an older "ara~ ara~" mommy milky character?
Decent plot, no child units, as different from the DS and 3DS ones as possible. Not gonna happen though.
Play Radiant Dawn and Shadow Dragon. Then wait a few years and forget about the franchise and get Awakening. That was my experience and I highly recommend it.
Echoes archers
No child units unless the game has multiple generations. The ones in Awakening were bearable since the game was based around time travel, but the ones in Fates were complete garbage.
While I'd prefer having no Avatar, I'm pretty sure thar feature is here to stay, so instead I'd like for the Avatar to not be the main character. Something like the FE12 Avatar would be good (good unit, is important for the Prologue/Gaidens but Marth is still definitely the main character).
Make Shove be an innate skill for all grounded units again.
Weapon durability.
Geneology of the Holy War remake,
If not I want it to be as far removed from Fates and Awakening as possible. Remove that stupid fujoshi bitch who makes decisions for the series these days. The Japanese players also hate her.
Yes, start with GBA then go GC. After Telius, go FE4 and 5 because they're the best entries in the series.
>Weapon durability.
I found the weapons in Conquest better than durability. Having advantages and disadvantages for each weapon type makes it another decision to take into account. Perhaps, only rebalance the pros and cons for each type.
>fujoshi bitch
bro the person fucking up fire emblem is maeda, its not a woman
>FE4
(lol
> Perhaps, only rebalance the pros and cons for each type.
This is what I want. Shuriken/Knifes especially need rethinking.
>Good art direction on the levels of Echoes
>Fully voiced
>Level design in the same vein as Conquest, Radiant Dawn and the non-asshole parts of Thracia
>Base mechanics a la FE9/10
>A lord who's not a total fuckface
>A story that isn't retarded
>If kids, kids actually in the second generation after a timeskip.
GTFO
>decline to side with either of them
>"Are you sure?"
>ok
>"Are you really really sure?"
>probably
>both armies turn red and get reinforcements
>absolute chaos ensues
Underrated chapter.
A lot of those cons ended up making me default to iron weapons even more often than I did in the other FEs. I had more fun worrying if I had bought enough javelins and hand axes to last me until the next shop.
Conquest's weapon system was bad because forging iron weapons was cheaper than buying steel/silver, gave near-equivalent might and had no downside. Usually in other FEs I'll have a couple silver weapons floating around, but in Fates I wouldn't even consider it. It's also much easier to justify forking out 2000g to upgrade two people's iron swords to +1 than to fork out 2000g for one person to get a steel sword.
>what do you want from fire emblem switch
No censorship.
>Level design on par with older games
I was with you until this point. You don't know shit about Fire Emblem. Unless you mean "older games of the newer half of games"
> what do you want from fire emblem switch
Give us a accurate translation for once instead of fucking rewrites.
