will we ever see command and conquer make a comeback?
Will we ever see command and conquer make a comeback?
I want to get into this game, which game should I play?
no
The ones made before EA took over.
Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge Expansion.
Maybe Generals if you're feeling cheeky and want to hear your peasants complain about needing shoes.
Was the gameplay in cnc3 really that bad?
Play em in the order they were made.
>Not giving your peasants shoes
I bet you don't even have AK-47's for EVERYONE
No.
4 was bad.
3 was great!
No, 3 was pretty decent, but not as good as any of the other entries imo
Kane's Wrath was a step up though, I'd say it's at least on par with Generals
Kane's Wrath is still the best
RA 2 > Tiberian Sun > RA 1 > Generals> C&C > C&C 3 > RA 3 > C&C 4
You don't start a C&C thread with an image of the worst game.
Mods, delete this filth.
you should play the old ones like red alert 2, but the best is generals
kanes wrath was decent
Tiberian Sun + FS > RA 2 > C&C TD > RA 1 > Generals > C&C 3 >> RA 3 >>>>> C&C 4
I really hope they restart the series. My brother's exclusively used to play C&C as kids. Both of them would stay up all night playing Tiberian Sun. We had a pirated copy and it had some issues with saves, so they would try and finish the campaign every weekend.
Once we actually got old enough to buy games with our own money, we went to the local video games store and picked up the new C&C. The new one unfortunately turned out to be 4. I fucking hate EA for destroying my brother's childhood.
>You know what would be a good idea in an C&C game?
>What?
>Take out the base building.
Lets also shove always online down the throats of players who bought our garbage. That'll completely shut down the pirates who will eventually crack our game and play without the always online cancer.
I liked c&c 3. It had an active online playerbase and was pretty fun to play through the campaign. Scrin did feel a bit out of place though but playing them was fun as fuck
No.
RTS is dead.
No. Westwood is dead and gone.
>decide to try the N63 version of C&C
>its fucking 3D models
did RA3 have random neutral buildings that give you buffs that you could capture scattered across the map?
i loved finding those while i was playing RA2 against the ai.
>capture airport
>drop paratroopers over all bridges
>cut off ai and play sim city and toy with it
Just stick to the mods.
KANE?
rts is dead lol
I hope we never get another C&C game, all the developers who would make it these days are terrible people who make terrible things.
YOU DON'T GET TO BRING FRIENDS
FIRST ONE TO TALK GETS TO STAY ON MY MONTAUK
SO WHO PAID YOU TO GRAB DR. MOBIUS
is this the westwood thread
>Mobius
>Not Tratos
Probably not, even if EA revives it, they would be completely incapable of making something that lives up to the series, all they'd produces is complete and utter shit.
Kodiak
Montauk is NOD
didn't EA owned them since the first game?
No sadly.
Tratos would probably die if anyone sneezed in the same room as him, nevermind being grabbed
Shit, you're right, it's been a while
>didn't EA owned them since the first game?
Nah, but EA saved the franchise.
Westwood itself was on a death bed when EA acquired them... or rather, when Virgin Interactive sold them along with another studio in LA.
> Spelling Entertainment has been looking for a buyer for Virgin Interactive for about a year, but was unwilling to split the company's assets. When it reversed that stance last week, Electronic Arts rushed to seal a deal for Westwood.
To my eyes C&C ended with Kane sending the NOD to conquer the stars while the SCRIN returned and killed everyone under the GDI name.
rather than that the shit that happened later
rts is dead and has been replaced by e-sport games. We will never see another true rts. No c&c, no aoe, no ee, nothing. There will always be a few "rts-like" releases but we will never have rts games like the golden ages.
I really dont get why people were disappointed in 3.
I honestly don't see how 3 can be bad at all.
It was pretty much CNC Generals but with elements from the Tiberium series
It was a good game
>horizontal HUD
the fuck is this shit?
>which game should I play?
Red Alert 2, if you like the sprite based games, play tiberium sun. If you don't like the sprite based games either try Red Alert 3 or tiberium wars
for me TS>RA2>>>>>>>>>>>>d games
I wonder if the cnc fps would have really been as bad as rumors said. It can't have been worse than any of the crap around these days and having another game at the renegade viewpoint would have been great.
Theres already been a CnC fps and it was glorious
Sure renegade was great, even the mp was fantastic. I still would have liked to see a tiberian twilight era game. All the concept art I saw of it was great. Can't remember the name tho
He's talking about Tiberium
I just want a combination of Saints Row 3/4 with Red Alert 3.
Fuck you EA.
>dfw have the C&C first decade
>each CD requires a CD key which ive lost
If you can't take care of nice things, you don't really deserve them.
>not the GDI kicking alien ass and sending them crying to their overlords while NOD runs like the traitors and cowards they were all along.
guess we played a different game
>Have the original RA2 discs
>Can't install them because Microsoft have made the installer incompatible with modern systems.
It hurts.
Lets see you try keeping track of little slips of paper with numbers on them over a period of 20 years
I feel you bro
>Tiberium sun is a good place to begin for the it's series, though you'll need mods and fan patches to get it to work fully. Tiberium war was solid, Kane's Wrath improved on it. 4 was flamin hot shit.
Red Alert if you like wack cold-war antics, 2 and 3.
I personally liked generals C&C and the expansion, the "modern" C&C game. It's not groundbreaking, but it's fun.
I thought TFD was the one that had all the games on one disc. In any event there's no Origin on that one and you can just buy a new copy for 10-20 dollars.
