Who's ready for the GOTY?

What is this?

City Shrouded in Shadow

The Asian version will have subs right?

Game where you're a regular guy trying to escape a city as kaiju attack it

Heres hoping there will be sentai robots fighting against the kaiju, so you have to avoid the giant fucking combining mechs.

Also I hope there are Kamen Riders who will lend you a hand at some point in the story, and you have to evade small kaiju as the Rider fights through them

Looks cool as shit, release date and systems?

>It's NOT a kaiju fighting game.
Fucking dropped like a bad habit.

user, there are enough of those, stop being a shitter.
Even then, it's not RAD, so it will suck.

It looks like a really bad game. It's a shame because I like the concept a lot.

Theres already tons of Kaiju fighting games. Imagine how many cool scenarios they can pull of like this? It's clear they don't care about franchises not mixing well, or else they wouldn't have fucking Patlabor amongst Evas and Ultramen, so theres no limit to what can show up in the city and wreck shit as you desperately try to survive.

definitely not goty. its a cool idea and will probably be a little fun, but still a total misappropriation of licensing budget.

this is like if when smash bros was announced it turned out you just control someone in the audience.

I just want to relive how good Destroy All Monsters Melee was, but all these new ones are shit.

Well I'd rather a new take on the concept of kaiju's attacking the city than a retread of something done tons of times before.

October 19th
PS4

It's part of that niche genre of disaster survival that's been going in since the ps2 years. If you're not coming in with that in mind, then what's the point of complaining? You got the Godzilla games, SRW, and lots of other crossover games in several genres.

The difference is controlling an audience member in a fighting game involves no direct interaction with the action.

This game, from the trailers, shows a clear direct interaction with the shit going down, giant robots and monsters only a few feet away, super heroes taking to the streets to fight, smaller monsters threatening you more directly so you must run and survive as the city goes to hell in a handbasket, plus from the looks of it theres a plot coinciding with the kaiju attacks involving the yakuza or some gangsters hunting you and your love interest down, at least from the looks of the trailer.

no amount of money is worth this kind of blind devotion to an unreleased product. toei and sony thank you.

Thats some pretty weak bait

Don't kid yourself. This won't be game of the year at all.

It will be forgotten about in less than a months time. 100% guaranteed.

and its some pretty strong shilling to jump to the defense of a game i said will probably be fun but wont be goty.

Fuck you, we haven't had a disaster game since Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 got canceled.

ywn play as an OL trying to get
out of a crumbling city and not fucking die

Japs will keep it alive just because it has all their favorite characters

No they won't. It will be forgotten almost immediately, and they will go back to their free to play kawaii modblob mobile games. This isn't the 70s anymore where the giant monsters are still relevant and household names.

The idea looks cool, but in the end its just going to be mostly a VN with 3d graphics, muh cinematic experience and a few minor gameplay sections such as stealth, driving and walking.

I also doubt whatever love story they have shaped there will be even remotelly more interesting than Godzilla, Ultraman and Unit 01 duking it out.

>implying Shin Godzilla didn't sell like crazy

Are you underage? The game is in the same vein as the Disaster Report games from the PS2.

Nigga, you're trying way to hard to shit on this subject when you talk about legacy characters like Godzilla, Mothra and Ultraman, and popular franchises like Patlabor and Eva.

It will be forgotten immediately. Enjoy your threads and game for the very very short time you will care about it like everyone else that wastes their time on it.

There wont be threads because the game is chink only.

I can't wait to play it without understanding anything because moons.

>This isn't the 70s anymore where the giant monsters are still relevant and household names.

man you're fucking stupid

>yfw Kuuga shows up to beat up some monsters

>This isn't the 70s anymore where the giant monsters are still relevant and household names.

>Pacific Rim
>Godzilla
>King Kong
>Shin Godzilla
>Pacific Rim 2
>Godzilla 2
>The Recent Godzilla game
>City Shrouded in Shadow

It's not too bad.

how are they going to make just running around not trying to get killed entertaining?

>not a crossover kaiju fighting game
Dropped.

gameplay footage looked boring, in particular it was Alien Zarab vs Ultraman and they didn't even fight, just stood apart from each other and exchanged attacks repeatedly while the protag stood there as the presenter explained shit. That means it's a set piece game to a extreme degree to where literally nothing happens until you move.
Also none of the monsters will cross over beyond their specific partner, ie Ultraman vs Alien Zarab, Godzilla vs Ghidorah, Gamera vs Legion, etc. So don't expect a Gamera vs Godzilla vs Ultraman vs EVA free for all.

It's a Disaster Report style of game.

Never tried a disaster survival game but if there's a chance of this coming to the states then goddammit I'm gonna start.

>You got the Godzilla games, SRW, and lots of other crossover games in several genres.

Godzilla in SRW

Thanks for the info, now... Yes I Am !

So it'll pretty much be Yakuza with kaijus thrown in?

>mention of yakuza
>Oh, so it's a yakuza game
No, it's a Disaster Report game.
