ITT: Failed Vidya Kickstarters

I'll start.

Project Phoenix

Mediocre No. 5.6 You wanted a Homestuck thread, didn't you, OP?

All Kickstarters are failed Kickstarters.

Except for Shovel Knight, FTL, Darkest Dungeon, Valdis Story, Risk of Rain, Hyper Light Drifter, ...

Most hardware kickstarters unsurprisingly enough. People tend to massively underestimate the amount of money, time and effort needed to jumpstart a mass production of a gadget even when you have a working prototype. And most kickstarters don't even have that, beginning with little more than a fancy idea and a youtube presentation

And pretty much the entire board game industry nowadays.

All shitty indie trash that no one cares about.

I'll add Divinity OS, Shadowrun, Banner Saga and Gianna Sisters to this list

>ywn play an actual game of Sburb

Why doesn't someone make an actual game like Sburb? Like a simulation.
I can imagine something like that getting really popular.

What's the best ship and why is it Katnep?

>Karkat
>Vriska
>Gamzee
>Eridan

You can kill only three of them. Choose wisely.

Kill Vriska to twice to make sure it sticks
Kill Eridan because he's pointless

I'm pretty sure Gamzee is unkillable, and Karkat's interactions with John and Dave are the funniest panels in the entire comic so killing him would be stupid.

Because the amount of combinations for the items would be absolutely ridiculous. And that's not even factoring in fictional objects. Grab ten things in your house and imagine how many of them you can pair together to make a new object. Now make combinations with three objects instead of two. And then do that for four. Now imagine that with a hundred objects instead of just ten. Making just the item combination part of Sburb is something multiple people would have to spend years on. And that's not even considering making models and animating them.

i care about all of them!

the Pathologic remake

Skullgirls

Sealark

Pillars of Eternity is great

>FTL
>Darkest Dungeon
Those were kickstarters? Damn.
Guess not all kickstarters are bad after all.

I mean Half Genie Hero obviously made it's goal but holy shit if playing it now isn't making me want to get into game design simply to prove I can make a better game because holy shit this is an antithesis for good game design

He propably listened to the podcast from those two guys who talked about why Hiveswap is a failure.
Although even if Hiveswap comes out someday, one problem is that the main writer will be injecting politics into it and Hussie can do NOTHING about it.

Star Citizen

Yeah, to be fair, it's been doomed from the start.
