But it did. Yokai watch kid kids far harder than pokemon in japan because it was more slice of life-y and relatable. Pokemon was great for us and those of us who have familiarity with it, but kids dont want to get into an old series thats 20 years old now when theres something new and exciting they can dance and sing to.

To put it in perspective, it took Yokai Watch 3 like 2-3 months to sell what it took Yokai Watch 2 to do in a week and YW2 was the only super popular one, YW1 sales didn't really drastically take off until around YW2's release date.

YW is also a terrible game, YW2 was much better because it followed the anime movies and has an actual story and shit.
