Okay, explain to me why I should feel ashamed of playing Red Mage.
Okay, explain to me why I should feel ashamed of playing Red Mage
What shame? Enjoy your big and easy DPS
Is Ninja really the easiest Mdps? Thinking of hopping mains.
is there supposed to be shame in playing red mage? its fun as hell to play lol
Because that means you're actually playing this garbage
From what I hear people think it's glorified whack-a-mole that yields dps far higher than the skill required to play should allow.
It's just braindead easy because it has a bunch of skills that do the exact same thing, except the one you use depends on a giant gauge on your screen. No shame in it, just not very demanding.
DRG is probably the easiest, I'd say NIN is actually one of the hardest.
I fucking hate RDM. STOP PULLING AGGRO YOU FUCK FACE.
Should I be ashamed of playing SCH where I barely heal but manage to keep everyone alive
Why play SCH then?
If you already barely heal then maybe you could just switch to RDM and have your other healer solo everything.
SCH and SMN are cancer and even the staff barely skirt around saying it themselves. They fucked up and they're in too deep with those two shit classes. They should have scrapped SMN and made Blue Mage a DPS class they collected animals and used their abilities similar to the Hunters from WoW. And I HATE WoW.
I'd give up SCH for BLU in a heart beat
Only if you think you're some hot-shot high skilled player by playing Red-Mage should you pull your head out of your ass.
Nah keep SCH, boot SMN and replace it with BLU
I meant as a main
ah yeah
why is red mage a dps
The hardest part of NIN is ping. Not exactly a game mechanic. Easiest melee is SAM, hands down.
because we're good on healers and it as a dedicated healer wouldn't make sense because of the sheer DPS the class was outlined to have. It has enough of the basic major utilities a WHM has but with DPS.
That's pretty much the goal of scholar, do as much damage as you can while letting your pet heal as much as possible and popping oGCD's when necessary. Ideally you shouldn't have to be spending many GCD's on healing at all.
Oh, I thought red mages were like utility and buff mages or something
In past iterations of Final Fantasy yes. In FFXIV though they are DPS, with some WHM utility. It's unique that they can resurrect allies compared to other DPS classes for instance.
>an instant cast Raise with no cooldown that has no MP penalty because you never want for MP as RDM, specially if you use Shroud of Saints role action
In fact, RDMs are better at raising than the fucking healers.
I mean, healers have Swiftcast they can kick to do the same but that's really the only difference.
'eh? DRG is one of the harder melee roles to play proficiently.
But what if I play it because it's easy and am fine with that?
Long as you're doing bare minimum 3200 in dungeons uncapped dungeons.
Swiftcast is on a cooldown. If a bunch of people die, you'll have to hardcast the next Raise.
In that 10(?)s cast time, a RDM can have three players back on their feet, because they're only limited by the GCD and their own MP.
Then that's fine. Because that's what RDM is; a low effort high reward class. Least you're not prancing about pretending to be more than you actually are. If you're enjoying yourself, and contributing just fine to the group just fine, there's no problem. I still can't fathom how some people can pull low numbers on RDM
>TFW WoW actually did copy XIV and now we're getting the "Last Stand of the Zandalari" raid after Legion's "final" raid to lead into the next XPAC like Steps of Faith or Baelsar's Wall
SCH and SMN need to have pets removed. Pets need to disappear entirely. There's no reason to have them. Make the egi's temporary HPless mini summons that do their thing (Single Target, AoE, Stuns and Slows) that also charge the job gauge for bahamut summon. What SMN has right now is so convoluted it's no surprise people stay far away.
Same goes for SCH. Remove the fairy pets. The fairies are now temporary but powerful summons that assist with healing or support. Job gauge gets revamped to charge a super shield that you can choose to put on a single target or spread among the group. Dissipation is cut.
People who hardcast the Vers and never use aoe is a good way to be low dps.
Pretty much this. From what I know with my time in SCH you're supposed to let your fairy do a good chunk of the healing while only using Aether abilities to do your own healing. There's generally no situation where you WANT to use Physik, Adol, or Succor as they all suck.
I refuse to believe anyone this stupid exists.
How much of difference is rdm and blm in parses, because unless it is huge like sam for blm there is no reason to take blm over rdm.
BLM can do more in raid, but it requires a much more skillful player, and raid strats that cater to the BLM moving as little as possible.
A bad or average BLM is blown away by a good RDM.
A good BLM makes a good RDM look like a drooling retard.
Safest to take RDM, but a good BLM is best.
Maybe I would if you'd just be my bf already.
Is the damage different enough to take one over the other like 1,000 dps, because it if is something like 100 to 200 dps it doesn't seem that big of a deal to take rdm over blm.
Just go RDM. Safer for decent DPS, and instant Raise lets you carry shitters.
How do I turn tombstones of poetics into gil?
I don't have the logs but RDM's tend to cap out on how much they can do pretty early on. The job isn't complicated so the skill ceiling is low thus the max dps the job can pump out is more easily obtainable. BLM on the other hand requires tons more knowledge and practice but the result is thousands more dps if done correctly.
Why are summoners so rare? I haven't seen one in weeks.
Rebornbuddy or MMOminon? All I plan to use them for crafting, gathering, and farm up mats.
buy demicrystals in idyllshire and sell them to an npc
2000 poetics = 80 crystals = 40k gil
>"""thousands""" more dps
you get 500, tops
mmominion by far
horribly designed class with high effort gameplay for zero reward
That's literally what it is. RDM's opener consists of either pre-casting Verthunder or Veraero according to taste, then using Manafication at 40+/40+, then doing your melee combo, then jumping out. That's it.
RDM's general combat flow is literally whack-a-mole. Since it's proc-based, you just keep casting basic Verspells until you get a proc for Verfire/Verstone. Occasionally, you use Acceleration to guarantee a proc. It's by far the easiest DPS job to play in the game and yes, it does yield disproportionately high DPS compared to the level of skill required.
>People who hardcast the Vers
No one is actually that retarded, right? Please tell me you just made that up.
Anything special about mmominion for crafting, gathering, and farming mats?
Opposite of RDM; High effort, low reward on top of being clunky as all hell. Still my favourite job, but it's tough times.
The job is dead due to overcomplication. It's zero fun to play for anyone other than severely autistic people that get hard ons optimizing every second of their lives.
The question is, will it remain the easy job or will Yoshi buckle and overcomplicate it like he did to Summoner?
Personally I don't have a problem with there being an easy class. They could use a nerf, but then if they nerf it too much then RDM simply stops getting picked up and we're back to only BLM's since SMN is fucked beyond repair.
I don't raid on rdm but boy having one as an alt is a great quality of life boon.
>bis job for any best solo job in the game, can knock out all the ARR ex trials and most coil turns solo for WT without needing a party
>braindead to play
Honestly, the only real problem with Red Mage is the disparity between effort and reward. I agree, all it needs is a minor nerf.
Red Mage is a DPS/Support job, and it does the support aspect very well with the instant on-demand rezzes, spot-heals, a nice buff for your melee party members and the ability to share some of its nearly infinite MP when necessary. Those factors alone make RDM a viable choice for any party, but when you add its extremely high DPS (relatively speaking, that is) into the mix, you get a broken job.
>static stagnating
>never any o4s prog parties up with slots left for my role
I'm not going to make it before Ultimate comes out.
What role are you?
After you meet the requirements for Craftsmanship and control. Which is better to cap out after CP?
heals.
How do I get into a prog static as a welfare geared SCH? I'm ilvl 320 and haven't touched savage yet.
Check /r/FFXIVRECRUITMENT/
It makes finding a static really easy. I've never been without one as any role because that sub is incredibly active.
Yeah I know, >reddit, but once you find a group that looks good, you can just add the recruiter on Discord and go from there. It's painless.
>WHM is the cuck healer
>NIN the cuck mdps
>MCH the cuck phys rdps
>SMN the cuck mdps
What is the cuck tank? And by cuck I mean the class that you would never take even if you had no choice
Shut the fuck up with your cuck obsession, you fucking faggot.
>>WHM is the cuck healer
No it's not. Kys
>People say this about SMN
>Since I started the game back in July have literally only seen 2 MCH the entire time.
If anything MCH is the most underplayed dps.
I see MCH all the time in PVP.
Generally speaking, control, there are a lot more ways to cheese progress than quality when crafting. But the real answer is it's breakpoint and crafting rotation specific AND item difficulty specific.
Like you may find that going up to X amount of craftsmanship means you can complete an item in Y synthesis actions instead of Y+1 actions, so you have an extra step you can use to push quality instead - or vice versa.
From what I hear though stormblood crafting is extremely east and trivial compared to HW due to actions like prudent touch being op, so optimizations on this level dont matter as much unless you just want to think about it for fun.
The funny thing is playing mch in pvp is cucking yourself just like if you played mch in pve too. Bard is the better option in everything now.
Based on all of the people I see completely fail at it, I would say it is one of the harder Mdps. That said, I think they're all pretty braindead.
Really really easy if you know what you're doing.
Difficult if you have no idea at all, but it's easy to learn. 4.0 nin is far easier than pre-SB.
They gutted the shit out of it
You don't really have a choice in 4 mans though, especially with tanks that pull everything (and DPS that don't pull their weight). SCH is a chore to play in dungeons.
Not at all, you're a good SCH
I main RDM because it's easy and clutch. All that utility is fun and triple raising makes pugging so much easier, especially since pugs are so bad at mechanics. Add to that embolden party buff and having dragoon jump and backflip and you can't go wrong.
>Kil'Jaedan has an "ult" move
When did they start copying Primal battles?
Because RDM has one of the easiest rotations in the game.
>Summoner
>low reward
>Red Mage
>high reward
I am loving this meme
Work the grey matter a little more, there's a ton of variables in play here.
>>vg
The pattern maintains at 95th percentile which means it's actually how jobs perform.
WoW designers figured out it's a good way to give players a mid-fight breather. Sip your drink, scratch that itch that's been bugging you, readjust your seat, etc.
>75th percentile
ok
Don't reply to me again.
What the fuck does the number of parses have to do with anything? Do you not know how percentiles work? Are you an expert Duty Roulette hero by chance?
Does mmominion do spearfishing and auto aether reduce?
>kil'jaeden takes 653 wipes, tweaks, and several weeks to clear
>meanwhile neoexdeath is cleared within a day
Will Square redeem themselves with this?
>The number of parses indicate that the majority of remaining SMN playerbase who continue to consistently parse are likely nothing but the high-end autismo players. This WILL skew the values upward, even with percentiles.
>SMN is low reward on the basis that the amount of reward for the amount of effort and frustration you put in is small relative to Red-Mage.
>Parse count is an indication that much more of the Red-Mage playerbase is comfortable attempting Savage.
>At the end of the day, the parse count also indicates that the playerbase doesn't consider SMN worth the time or effort. Many Casters even swapped to Red-Mage for the purposes of progression, meaning even BLMs were inclined to get the easier results Red-Mage outputs.
Ultimate is noncontent.
drg is one of the hardest classes
>autosage
It's almost maintenance anyways.
>blizzard intentionally massively overtunes fights to ensure things like day-one clears don't happen
>the last time SE overtuned an encounter, it was unintentional and the two overtuned encounters were bad enough that they dealt permanent damage to XIV's raiding scene as a whole
???
I'm almost certain that this will be cleared within the first few days even day one clear is pretty possible. Squeenix can't balance around the new changes they made.
Unless they make DPS checks like A3S pre nerf.
No, because the XIV's playerbase has a certain imagined standard for what's considered "difficult". Anything even close to weeks without a 1st clear can also be guaranteed to get backlash I'd say. But, who knows given this is intended for people who have already cleared Savage, so they might bite the bullet given they should know what they're getting into.
That was more of a gear check but for this fight they expect people to come in fully geared.
Fights in Warcraft are just tuned to a higher item level than is average. That's why things don't get cleared until you thread the keyhole with low amounts of gear and high levels of synergy and execution.
Fights in Final Fantasy are tuned to the lowest item level, and even though they have no idea what the encounters do (no PTR) they are still cleared day one because the game is garbage. Gordias is the only exception to this rule because the hardcores wanted "something harder" but LL, even protean wave, was too prohibitive for the midcores, so it was scrapped.
Nothing will redeem this game's raid scene. It's trash through and through.
