Ok or even games that got blown out of proportion by media to be the worst shit ever.

Finished Andromeda "Free" Version.
Honestly the game is not so bad.
The worlds are beautiful and have a decent amount of stuff to do in them and some of the side quests are even decent.
The characters are acualy also decent and even that one character everyone hated the PeBe or we the young asari is not that bad people just assume they know everything about a character based one 2 lines and a awquard mug shot.
And even then some of the Characters are interesting especially the 1000 year old Krogan.
Also i manged to get 92% compilation rate in the game and managed somehow to never meat a single transgender character or have a single gay romance and only met 1 openly gay character (Asari dont count seeing as they can literally make children whit other females and thus are technically not strictly female)
The game play and combat is probably also one of the best in the series especially on higher difficulties.
And il be honest i dint play the game lunch date but instead played the latest patched game and i had no serious bugs whatsoever.

This game began development in 2012, and had a team of over 200 developers working on it

It gets released in late March of this year

And it was horrible. Facial Animation is fucked, glitches and bugs were everywhere. You yourself can only say you never had any -serious- bugs so I can assume you've still had some, at the very least, non gamebreaking issues. This is a game that took 4-5 years to make with a massive dev team, and it got released, with Day 1 DLC and exclusive pre-order bonuses, as a broken mess

I need to make this clear to you, as common as it is for games to require patches after release, that does not mean it's a good thing. Especially with people missing out on content if they don't pre-order or at the very least buy on first day release

Any game that has marketing and a release designed to get as many buys as possible before reviews is not something to be defended

Sometimes, shit games are shit.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is a multi-million dollar pile of shit.

A small example, hilarious to watch but remember this is from a AAA multi-million dollar game and presumably everybody involved thought it was just fine.
The game is littered with moments like this.

From what I hear, it's not that simple. As in, actual, proper development only started like a year or two ago. Which would make perfect sense, the only other possibility was that it got Duke Nukem'd around multiple teams.

>The worlds are beautiful and have a decent amount of stuff to do in them and some of the side quests are even decent.
Yes, they are beautiful (Frostbite shines here). However most of the "stuff" on them are the copy-pasted enemy camps. Side quests are better than in DAI, but the hand-holding and the typical "scan to solve problem" doesn't really help.
>The characters are actually also decent
Depends. Drack, Vetra and Jaal are good, but the rest lacks depth. Cora whines about biotics (even though you have them as well) and the Asari, but never has any character development in those areas. Liam has the best loyalty mission imo, but otherwise he's your normal sunnyboy, without any depth to him. Peebee behaves like a teenager. I have no problem with it, but when she's supposed to be part of the most important team in Heleus it becomes a problem. Even after her loyalty mission, where she nearly kills you, you can't call her out on it. Her character arc is all about accepting the Tempest as her new home, but my question is: Why should we care about her until she does?
When it comes to secondary characters, they often lack the involvement to evolve in any kind of way.
>SJW stuff
Sup Forums usually exaggerates, when it comes to this stuff. However Bioware showed that they wanted to pander certain groups. That's the only explanation, why the "fixed" the trans scientist in Prodromos 2 times and made Jaal bi, while the game is still full of bugs.
Also there's the matter of Asari suddenly having an interest in pronouns, after it was established, that gender has no meaning for them.
>combat
It's faster and more focused on abilities. I like that. However the automatic cover system is mediocre at best and the AI is beyond retarded. Once you reach a certain level (~20) there's absolutely no challenge anymore, even on Insanity.

Also you didn't even touch the subject of the messed up main story. But I better post all I have now, before the threads get archived.

hi ea

Asari might be interested in pronouns only to make it easier for non mono gender races to make it easier to refer to them.
Or as a tool of intimidation.
Its possible that an Asari may want a male pronoun to sound more intimidating.
Also many young impressionable Asari might be just picking up popular shit from earth
But i agree that its more likely that its just an attempt to sound progressive.

Bullshit. The game was fucking garbage. And you better believe me on that because I actually spent months forcing myself through this thing a bit at a time so I could say it with certainty.
It is a complete and total exercise in wasting potential. Every time it looks like something cool might finally happen the scene just ends.
The game peaks when you explore the first vault and it's just a downhill ride from there.

It's difficult to discuss it, since we don't know about the Asari language(s) or how our translators work.
However my problem with it lies in how this is presented. You don't meet any Asari, who don't refer to themselve as females. It's only explained in this short convo, after you meet the Angaran embassador on the Nexus.

What happened is that they had no clear idea of what they wanted to do.
Up until then, they had the idea to make a bunch of hand-made planets, and then make others procedurally generated, they went all over this idea multiple times, trying to do it.
It didn't work, they scrapped that, and the game we actually got began development in late 2015.

>Up until then, they had the idea to make a bunch of hand-made planets, and then make others procedurally generated
That was their second approach to it. First they wanted to make hundreds of procedurally generated planets, but didn't have a clue how to fit a linear story in this system, even before they realized that Frostbite isn't cut out for it.

wasnt the asari in ME1 a fucking matriarch? what is this pronouns shit

People like you that defend a pile of shit like this game was is one of the reasons videogames are worse than ever. Drink bleach and die.

Their eldest are called Matriarchs, they call their offsprings daughters and mostly refer to themselves as mothers once they have children, with the exception of an Asari only relationship.
But again, this could also be our translator interpreting the Asari language in a way that makes it understandable for us.

The game got BTFO so hard that the studio won't be making DLC or a sequel of the Andromeda storyline.

Worse. It got BTFO so hard the studio was cannibalized.
BioWare Montreal isn't a thing anymore.

It got BTFO so hard it might take Anthem out with it

if you can enjoy this game you're either a child or retarded.

the plot is the most washed up generic trash sci fi i've ever had the displeasure of enduring. the fucking writing too, like someone thought 'how can i be joss whedon but even more fucking annoying'.

and the gameplay is just console trash. gunfights are brainless and limiting your active abilities reeks of casual shit

Ahahahahahaha, that's even better. Let's hope Anthem is the final nail in the coffin for Bioshit as a whole.

MAYBE I'M FOOLISH

MAYBE I'M BLIND

Bioshit's been dead a long time. It's just a brand name now that EA keeps alive, hoping it draws in the gullible RPG fags. Literally nobody of old Bioware works at Bioware now. Nobody. Except Casey Hudson, who just returned, but he's 50% responsible for the trainwreck that is ME3, so he doesn't count.

I think weekes and dombrow are still there, but they're clearly phoning it in, if DA:I is any indication

Is there a Mod that fixes the game yet?

>go to another Galaxy
>Every alien race speaks English and is a biped with 2 eyes, a nose and a mouth with lips.

Even with all the shitty writing and no actual roleplaying options, the combat was definitely way better.

There are some to make the game more enjoyable. My favourite is the Iron Man mod, which gives you a jetpack to fly around with. Makes getting from A to B much faster. The Hypermobility mod, which increases your jump jet's strength and your sprinting speed is also nice to have.
There's also a bunch of mods for minor bug fixes, annoying audio removal and texture overhauls (however not a big overall one). Combat wise it's lacking however. Most make rebalance weapons and powers and make them even stronger. There's only one to increase difficulty.

I agree.
Honestly, ME2 and 3 were grossly overrated. Andromeda at least tried to expand upon ME1.

>Every alien race speaks English
You do know that the ME universe uses translators, yes? Still doesn't explain how they can translate the Angaran language, since those translators are not made to decipher

dood AIs lmao

Just turn ur bran off lmao
