Holy shit, I loved Rune. Being able to chop off limbs and head and use them as a weapon was sweet. Kind of hard game though honestly. I should boot it up again and play it.

i played jedi knight for years then discovered rune classic. it seemed alright skill wise but seemed a bit too spammy for me. i dont understand where much of the skill gap comes in other than positioning

It's basically Unreal with melee weapons. It's amazing. If you think Dark Souls was a hard melee-based games, get ready to have your boipussi torn open by Dwarves bullrushing you at mach speed

Be aware, the Steam version is cucked to hell and back, many missions are missing because they couldn't make in-engine cutscenes work in them or something. The GOG version should work flawlessly, I don't recall if you need fan patches or not but I played it to completion on Win 7

Every weapon has its own unique arc and bizarre properties. While typically the low tier weapons will get rekt by the high tier ones, there is finesse to be developed with the initial ones, and not that rare to kill someone with a good weapon with just a short sword headshot (head slash?)
