X was my last FF. But Kimahari is even bad at blitzball.

I liked him a lot. Don't really know why Sup Forums hates him so much.

Its not that he's a bad character, its just that it takes him so fucking long to become decent. Like, if you want him to be a melee fighter, you need to grab spheres from Auron, Wakka, and Tidus, you'll be 80% though the game before he would be a viable alternative for either Wakka or Auron. And that is just one example. His shortest road to being semi-viable is taking him down Rikku's path for thievery, but even then you need to spend a fuck ton of time on spheres from other characters to make him useful in combat.

his problem was that his part of sphere grid was half empty and it went in a circle, so you had to either backtrack to get to another branch, or skip a part

It was great in FF5. In fact they made it so good that they've made it mediocre ever since to compensate. Except enemy skill materia that shit was fucking broken.

e. skill was great plus things like white wind and mighty guard were available early on. most useful blue magic comes later in 9 and 10. i think the only time quina came in handy was farming grand dragons with lvl 5 death

Interesting but unfortunate. Most people either don't realise that he's supposed to be a blank slate character who you take in any direction you wish to make full use of what the Sphere Grid allows, or they do realise that every other role is already filled by characters who start on certain paths and don't feel the need to deviate at all with them so they don't care about having another character for whom that is their main purpose. Outside of that the only things that set him apart are his numerous varied Overdrives that he has to learn being more stuff to do with him, and most of his weapons having Piercing like Auron. As a character he's pretty cool though.

Great thief well before you get Rikku, steal a bunch of nodes you can only get otherwise, too buff to be fappable.
