What is the best video game trilogy?

What is the best video game trilogy?

Super Mario Bros. 1-3 in America

Heretic, Hexen, Hexen 2

>in America
Not in Europe or Australia?

>Lord of the rings all high and good
t.someone who never read the books

Ace Attorney

Jurassic Park 1 too low
Back to the Future 3 too high

Outside of Japan, then

Is Star Wars the biggest circlejerk to ever happen?

This desu
I hate those blatant changes they did to the Return of The King

MGS obviously

>Aliens better than Alien

Whoever made that chart should fucking kill themselves.

>aliens higher than alien

JFA only having one good case kinda brings it down

>xman2
>not absolute dogshit

thismind

which batmans are supposed to be indicated here

B-BUT ALIEN DIDNT EVEN HAVE ANY GUNS OR EXPLOSIONS!

it had good special effects for the time.
it basically pioneered lots of the special effects that are used in movies now.
However, the plot has always been just "ok". The direction was excellent in the first movies though. It's basically a sword and sorcery movie set in space and not really sci-fi.

Basically, it was there first is why it's so popular. Star trek has always been better.

>2nd Indiana Jones that high
>3rd BTTF that low
>1st Jurassic Park that low
>all the Star Wars that high
Not bad chart, a few questionable decisions.

On topic, best video game trilogies are probably Super Mario Bros 1-3, MGS 1-3, maybe Max Payne (3rd one is contentious).

>Godfather
>Rocky
>Batman

You done fucked up.

Burtonman is a quadrology no matter how much you might want to deny it

fellowship > king > towers

Prove me wrong

Mother

Mother, Pikmin, Ape Escape, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton

>Star Wars
>Better than Lord of the Rings
Cringe

Halo.

Is anyone else pissed the OP's picture says Terminator 2 is that good compared to 1?

Resident Evil.

Halo 1-3 ideally

>mad max 2 better than 1
>blade 2 better than 1
>terminator 2 better than 1
>aliens better than alien
Sure is plebbit in here

SW basically created the entire geek/nerd culture you see these days
its overrated as fuck with normalfags

Regardless the ratings are more consistent with batman + returns + forever than they are with the Nolan trilogy. This is imply that DKR was a bad movie

Good chart, but
>which batman
>T2 was shit, far below T1
>Godfather 1 was better than 2
>jurassic park 1 is a good movie
other than that, it's agreeable.

Anyway, DKC.
2>>>

Donkey Kong Country

Me.

>Alien 2 better than 1
>Alien 3 that low

Fucking piss of shit I'll fite you

>Star Trek had 6 films
>trilogy

>T2
>shit
>far below T1
Explain

>all LOTR films equal

Disagree with the second Matrix and Back to the future. The former is poor on a first viewing, but on subsequent ones it improves drastically. It still took way too many steps towards pointless action, but I'd say it's a 7 compared to the first's 10.

As for Back to the Future 2, I just don't see how the first can be rated highly but not the second on an equal footing. They're a perfect duology, they go together perfectly. Shame about the third though.

Kingdom Hearts once 3 drops and if Nomura doesn't shit the bed again

I can't believe I forgot about DKC. I'd go even further and say that its one of the most consistently excellent videogame franchises ever.
The only game that could be considered below the rest is returns, and it was fixed by the 3ds port dropping the motion controls

You can just tell that a numale made that graphic

T1 was a complete movie with a better story and characters.

T2 was a rehash, made the Terminator into a kid friendly goofy buddy, had a shitty joke tier silly putty villain, completely changed the character of Sarah Connor, and added a shitty melodramatic romance subplot. Bad movie.

thief 1-3

still glad they never made another one

Considering the other ratings in OP's picture, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the thought process.

You're forgetting THI4F, another Eidos Montreal masterpiece. The same guys who brought us those "masterpieces" HR and MD.

Test

Battle Network's first trilogy if you start from the first

Terminator 2 is the greatest sequel ever made. Jurassic Park is both a terrific film and groundbreaking in its use of practical and CG effects in proper use.

why don't we get modern day classic movies anymore? No one's going to talk about the gotg, fembusters and the avengers 20 years from now.

Are you really implying Thief 4 is on the same level as nu Deus Ex? HR was fantastic and even though it felt unfinished, MD was great too.

>Terminator 2 is the greatest sequel ever made

user pls

i'm just trying to live a peaceful existence in my shitty idealistic fabrication of reality

They're all Eidos Montreal trash.

oh man i sure do love caveman era 1920s graphics

International Release is what youre looking for.

I don't think anyone cares about EU/AU sales though.

i agree with everything but madmax

Silent Hill 1-3

RE 1-3

Dead Space 1-2, sorry its not a trilogy.

The Batman one works for both trilogies.

Nice semantics, autist

Name a better sequel.

Lmao this list is so full of shit its not even funny.

>I hate those blatant changes they did to the Return of The King

Why do people care about changes in movie adpatations? Not just for LotR but in general? Why not appreciate the format for what it is instead of getting mad about things that aren't exactly the same? You still have the books

I understand when a movie adaptation just straight up leaves stuff out that ends up making later scenes in the movie hard to follow/make no sense. But changes that don't effect the quality of the movie inclusively? Why would you give a fuck?

Yeah, Nolan's trilogy is closer to the arc of Star Trek or Mad Max in that image- good first film, drastically better second film, third film is downgrade but not completely awful by the standards of the previous two.

>Nolan's Batman trilogy isn't praised as the best movies ever made
>Made by a numale
I'm not so sure honestly

Aliens

I was half joking it's not a shit movie, but it's far worse. I thought you'd catch the romance subplot joke (that was not T2).

TDK is way better than Begins. I don't understand how you could think otherwise.

>Those Star Wars ratings
>That JP1 rating
what a joke of a list

You have to be 18 to post here :(

Obvious.

Came here to post this

They're both plebbit numale trash

For a second I thought that was Batman reboot trilogy.

don't worry kids

>mainstream movie series
>circlejerk

what did he mean by this?

>Spiderman 1 and Terminator 1 are hovering around 50-60%.

...

Different guy from the other dude, but there WAS some level of familiarity between the Terminator and Sarah Connor, so that's what I thought you meant.

I feel like Aliens is the only critically acclaimed movie I've ever seen that I understood none of the love for it. I believe that may have been because I watched it with a friend and we talked throughout.

>tfw i think Mad Max 1 and Thunderdome were the better films while Road Warrior was the worst one, albeit still good, especially after Fury Road.

2 >> S&K > 1 > 3

J-joosten?

For me at least, The first film is my favorite.

I feel like they introduced everything at the first half of the movie so perfectly.

Lord who is the child who made this diagram

Definetly MGS if it had stopped at 3

Did they really do this?

>tfw watching the original Planet of the Apes series
>after movie two think it can't get any worse
>it does
>think the same again
>still worse
>keeps happening

I have no idea how they were allowed to keep making those movies and not put in jail for crimes against humanity.

Is it nice to just post shit without thinking?

Planet of the apes was just kinda boring IMO, the old movies were cheesy but at least they were fun

>Aliens better than Alien
>Godfather 2 better than 1
>any Star Wars being better than any Lord of the Rings movie

This image is the plebbest.

>The second film has a 50% chance to be better

>The third film will almost always be the worst, more or less.

Okay, Mad Max 1 is a totally different movie. But how is Thunderdome better than Road Warrior?

>star trek 1 was bad meme
Anyone that actually watched the show loved it. Fucking normies.

How's the new trilogy?

>yet another thread to remind me that i barely watch movies anymore

Read my mind.
Alien is an influential and incredibly well executed sci-fi horror that finds a balance between action and suspense.
Aliens is an action flick.

>tfw really liked the first one and was shocked at the huge drop in quality
Just goes to show that hollywood always loved to milk franchises.

Monster Girl Quest

It's the Burton trilogy tho
