Did anyone play the harry potter games as a kid? what was your favorite?

I remember really liking pic related but I just replayed it and it doesn't really hold up

Only played the sorcerers stone on PlayStation. I remember it being absolutely infuriating

Played the GBC and PC games. Both were comfy as fuck.

Played 1-3 on PC, 4 as well but never got very far, that one just wasn't as fun to me
I probably replayed 1 the most

They were great when they took advantage of the large sprawling castle

DULLEST

My memory is awful so I don't really remember which ones I specifically liked and why, but I played the 1st on PS1, the 2nd on PC, and the 3rd on GBA
Shit man, those were the times were a game that was made just for the sake of using a big name licence could turn out to be amazing, at least for the innocent children we were

FLIPENDOOOOO

I alpha tested every HP game up until #5 and did voice work for GOP

What would happen if someone snuck up on Voldemort and blew his head off with a shotgun
Like I get it wouldn't kill him because of his horoshits but you can't cast magic if your brain is destroyed.

I compiled dolphin with one line of code changed just so i could play chamber of secrets again (without having my ears bleed)

I played through the PS1 version of Philosopher's Stone and the Xbox and PC versions of Chamber of Secrets. Fucking solid action-adventure games.

Also, the building where the infinite staircase scene in Inception was EA UK headquarters at the time they were being developed.

Can you provide proof?

I knew

It'd be like the first time he died, he gets turned into Cletus the Fetus.

Only played HP1+2 on PC and consoles.
Seen HP3 PC at my cousin once.

played the PS1 Philosopher's Stone, best game in terms of nostalgia, holy shit. Payed the PS2 Chamber of Secrets and actually really disliked it, but that was mostly because it was an unwanted christmas gift. Looking back though I beat both those games 100% and had more fun than most current games out today

my favorite is the shit application of themes.

>tfw this is the state of Harry Potter right now

Played the first three. Prisoner Of Azkaban sucked even as a kid but I enjoyed the first two. Shame they don't hold up very well.
Also, why is Philosopher's Stone on PS1 so fucking eery?

Only one I ever played was the PC version of Sorcerer's Stone.

I know the PC, console, and handheld versions of all the games are all different, but which was typically best? From what I hear, a lot of people enjoy the handheld games for being heavily JRPG-influenced.

The quidditch one was the shit

>islet tripping on Sup Forums

fucking kill yourself my man, push your weasel eyes back into your giant weasel head and stop fucking tripping, you weak ass fat fuck.

the handheld ones weren't that good even though people have nice memories of them. the maps were bland and monotonous and the music was sometimes painful to listen to and the writing was terrible. it was also really grindy

Played the first 3 on PC. The 2nd was probably my favorite and 3rd my least favorite, but I enjoyed them all.

Later on at the age of like 21 I decided to check out the later ones, just to see if I missed anything. Played like 40 minutes of the 4th and 5th, checked videos of the last ones and concluded that I was lucky not to play them before.

played pic related too. I really miss mid budget games like this

My 8 year old self used to get so pumped when the opening came on.

I played HP1 on the PS1, HP1 and HP2 on the GBC and HP5 on a PS3. All were fantastic games. The exploration in HP5 is top notch, and the GBC games were my introduction to RPGs.

What I wouldn't give for a proper Harry Potter RPG, where you're just some random student at hogwarts, learning spells and exploring the castle.

Played Sorcerers for ps1, loved it and still do. Prisoners of Azkaban though was imo the most fun I've ever had in a Harry Potter game. I've always hoped for a remaster or reboot to happen, but I honestly doubt it.

I only remember getting jumpscared by peeves when i opened a chest

Holy shit i forgot i played the GBC version too, they weren't too bad from what i remember.

I played the console versions and PC versions for 1-2. Still crazy too me that they were two completely different games with different mechanics, music etc. Anyone know the story behind that shit?

I liked the GBA one at the time

flipendo...

trip on sean

Played many of 'em. Favourite is probably 3 on xbox. Then again kids can enjoy anything.

I believe it was only like that for the first 3/7ths of the series. Everything past that was basically for the most part the same beside handheld stuff.

chamber was only one i played and i loved it so

>tfw no harry potter rpg with a comfy setting

FLIIIIIIIIIIIIPENDO

Jesus hahaha.

>Anyone know the story behind that shit?
Lots of games had different versions back in the day. 007 Nightfire on PC is completely different than the console version. Spider-Man 2 on PC is completely different than the console version. Splinter Cell: Double Agent on PC/7th gen is completely different than the 6th gen version. 007 The World is Not Enough on N64 is completely different than the PS1 version. Aladdin on Genesis is completely different than the Super Nintendo version. Ditto for Shadowrun, Sparkster, etc.

Video game platforms were once wildly different hardware, that you had to develop specifically for. Nowadays, consoles are literally just locked down PC clones, so it makes it easier to port games.

Harry Potter is for liberal retards. Play LOTR games for real guys.

Had Sorceror's Stone for PC and GBC, never managed to finish the PC one (young me was a dumbass who couldn't into Quidditch).

Sorceror's Stone GBC was fucking great. Best NG+, too, just casually fucking over Diagon Alley rats with Flipendo Trio.

I loved chamber of secrets on the ps2

The third movie and the third game are the best

>

Harry potter games are actually one of my first games since i am 19 now. Played 1 and 2 on pc, and 3 on ps2. I had fond memories of the 2nd ones final boss

god tier OST

Hairy Secrets and the Chamber Pot

I surprised by the lack of Dullposting.

I have fond memories of the 2 games on PSX, I replayed the first one recently and it was still enjoyable but I realize it's only because of my nostalgia because the definitive versions for PS2 and Gamecube don't really do anything for me.

I got scared of a level in 3 where I think you had to jump across platforms and a dementor was chasing you. Never touched it again.

Is this the dullest franchise of all time?

I wonder where he's got to.
Maybe he's finally gone the way of Fanfiction guy

>tfw fanfiction guy quit
>tfw he updated the pastebin one last time to add the prince of slytherin
>tfw it's pretty damn good

he was a good friend

yeah, but he had MoR as high tier, so he's still got things to answer for

but MoR was good, it's just that every single character was unlikeable.

>but MoR was good
>set up as what if Harry was scientifically minded
>conducts a grand total of one experiment
>Mercilessly mangles Bayesian logic in a way that only works because he's read the script
>Time Turner ex machina
>"learning to lose" by having the shit kicked out of him rather than being presented a kobayashi maru style challenge
>Ancient and noble houses
>constantly confuses concepts like Thermodynamics and Relativity
>being written by this guy

"No!"

fuck, me too, thanks for linking that, I still love it.

Top 5 vidya osts of all time

Yeah, he sets it up as though it were what if Harry took a scientific approach, but all of his experimentation seems to have been with Hermione for figuring out how incantations work, a tiny bit of potionmaking, and one single attempt to mess with time where he didn't even follow his procedure properly.
Even his "convince Draco that pureblood a shit" thing was technically a study, not an experiment, and he got really fucking lucky that magical-ness was simple one-gene dominance. Multiple interacting genes or even just codominance would've fucked his theory up hard and turned Draco against him.
And the author *constantly* forgot that Harry was 11 goddamn years old, and would therefore not know college-level things in multiple fields.
The lightsaber fights were bullshit, too. I enjoyed the idea of the war games, but it would've been done much better with adult wizards and witches, not literal gradeschoolers.

I have played the HP Trilogy on PC, and HP1&2 on PS1, and 3/5 on PS2. I am this close to buying some Blank discs and burning some isos to check out PS2 versions of the first two cause I heard that they are quite different and worth it. God I miss the days where buying a game on 3 different platforms meant 3 different games.

The Lie I've Lived > Everything Else > MoR > My Fanfiction

I think the 5th game was pretty neat.

>1-4
Magical platformers/RPgs with the charm of the HP universe and tons of additional written content
>5-6
Boring shot for shot movie tie ins
>7 1/2
A fucking FPS with wii motion controls

CoD ruined Harry Potter

>FLIPENDO

3>2>1>6>5>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Fuck that dragon level and shitty controls

The worse part is that 5 is basically the castle from 3 and 4 with a horrible artstyle. The game at the very least had that trophy room and stuff to unlock.

>having crucio as a machinegun
How the fuck did that one get by? By all accounts Rowling's an utter control freak when other people have the license.

sounds like pure magic

This is one of the first times I've seen someone claim that the Goblet of Fire game was good.

it's Jeremy Soule after all
