The game is buoyed up by being built on an intrinsically good concept, and kept down by bland graphical and level design.
It was fun.
I wished it got some single player dlc though like wolfenstein the old blood.
I wish they didn't end here, this design is such a boss fight waiting to happen and then they stop
Nothing special but fun enough. I like wolfenstein a bit more honestly.
In the beginning it was super fucking fun.
But then it was more arena combat
then more arena combat
and then more arena combat
and shocker, more arena combat.
Never once felt scared, died a few times in some lab thing, crashed a few more times in said lab and so on.
It's the good sequel to Painkiller we never got.
There was probably a single player expansion planned at some point. But Bethesda in all their wisdom most likely pulled the plug in favor of forced "creation club" on the game.

It was better than what I expected. Used the Serious Sam style "room is locked, kill everything" gimmick too much which was never a DOOM thing to begin with, and I didn't like how enemies only drop pickups if you do the dumb melee attack. I don't know who's employed at id these days, but even though the game was alright for what I played, it misses a lot of the core gameplay that you would find in classic DOOM games and instead seemed to play like a mishmash of DOOM/Quake clones instead.

It was damn good, it was fun which is what a game should worry about before anything else
It was alright. Not enough enemies and having designated fight areas were meh. The glory kill was a neat idea but having you be completely reliant on it broke up the flow of a good firefight
I hope they release more content or if they make a sequel let me fight Hayden.
I might just look at that fucking design, he was already cool and I wanted to eventually fight him BEFORE he got the glowing hell blade

it really drags a lot at the end and it's sucks that bosses only show up on the last levels.
Started it recently. Feels like early on it relies too much on you Redfield punching enemies, does that change later on or will I have to punch demons the whole game because that gets tired quick.
Doom 3 was a fucking outlier, 1 and 2 were brutal fast action games not air vent crawlers with jumpscares

You'll get runes that speed up the animation 2x and boost your movement speed after a glory kill which encourages it's use. Otherwise the game is designed for them to drop a shitload of health if you're low even if you're just shooting them

Yo, the multiplayer has been a blast since 6.66.
Just wish more people played straight raw TDM. The mechanics in the game are great, just needs a good amount of polish to really be solid/competitive.
Felt like a sequel to some slaughter map pack rather built with Brutal Doom in mind rather than a sequel to the actual Doom games. I still enjoyed it but it didn't really feel Doom. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.
Well I like my wubstep and epic cinematic QTE kills. Pewdiepie is the best.

Loved it, even if it's unfair.
Unfair in the way that if you have a lot of HP, you lose them very easily, while if you're under 30 HP, you get armour.
Otherwise, solid shooting game.

The upgrade system, lousy sound design and lack of modding capability hold it back from being really great

I think it's one of the best first person shooters in a long while, but it really could do without the hand-holding aspect. You know, how the game tells you exactly how many secrets and special things are in a level. I don't want to know that, I want to find them on my own by exploring so that they're a surprise.
Other than that, 10/10. Don't know about the multiplayer, don't care.

Wolfensteins were ruined by hot action combined with skyrim looting, 2 minutes of fun versus 6 minutes of rummaging through drawers.
Doom continued the same abominable tradition by having finishing moves, you sprayshoot a generic skullalien for 2 seconds, then press "F" for finishing move.
I was contemplating on making a macro that hits "F" every 0.2 seconds to make this shit playable, but in the end couldn't be arsed - it wasn't that captivating to begin with.
Bethesda cannot into FPS.
doom raves too much on glory kills and upgrades/mastery is unnecessary. I just want to kill fucking demons the way I want, not "use this mode on X imps"
I gave you grudging approval as those things you mentioned don't fit with everyone, until you implied new wolf and doom were actually made by bethesda game studios

I think the gameplay is good, but there are too many unnecessary "RPG" elements.
The weapon upgrades are fine, but the rest could just be removed.

Zombabos, Imps, Lost Souls and Pinkies are loud and clear, every other enemy is really quiet. I forgot to mention that they usually don't even do a deathrattle and instead go down without a sound, i.e. killing them isn't as satisfying as it could be.

It was a good game but I feel like they just kept tacking on shit for the sake of having new mechanics and they didn't add anything
The mod-swapping and the praetor upgrades are incredibly arbitrary and just plain useless for the most part
i turned the indicator or redfield off because it looks fucking abysmal and tears you right out of whatever immersion you had. i thought i was top banana but then... the boss fights without it... oh dear. also i turned boss helath bars off.

People complain DOOM '16 strays too far from DOOM '93 but both games have a "nope, too bad" ending yet only one of them gets criticism.
