Ok. What about Sunshine would you like to talk about first?
ok, lets discuss how you all killed an innocent Koopa
I liked Tick Tock Clock. It just felt like a creative idea for a level, especially considering how new 3D was and the relatively small number of levels in the game
Where do we begin?
Good. Koopa the quick is a prick
shoulda been koopa the quicker
...
Something I realised.
This is the first game whomps appeared in, and the first star of Whomp's Fortress is "Chip off Whomp's block"
The big Whomp at the top doesn't wear a crown, so maybe his name was just "Whomp" rather than "King Whomp"
maybe he doesn't wear a crown because he realizes it's hypocritical to make jewelry out of gemstones
>that feel when you reduce king bob-omb to a dud
anyone who says that 64 controls better than sunshine is objectively wrong.
...
Sunshine controls like shit. Mario goes from 0 to 100MPH too quick for the type of shit they want you to do in that game.
SM64 is honestly garbage.
>awful controls and camera
>empty, uninspired levels
>barely any platforming
>no costumes
I do believe that SM3DW is what SM64 should have been; a 3D reimagining of the 2D platformer.
Bob-omb Battlefield is a very unthreatening battlefield.
A just finished a 120 star play through of the game. Haven't played it in over a decade and decided to see if it still holds up. It has aged incredibly well and Mario felt very nice to controll for the most part
I want to make one of these.
...
>a 3D reimagining of the 2D platformer.
Get out and stay out
SOURCE PLEASE
nah fuck that, theres no fucking long jump in that game
Kind of a weird fortress to have no interior to speak of
It controls like shit tho, every level feels like an ice level. Literal milk.
...
So what was Wet Dry World supposed to be? A dock? A temple? The layout (of the main are, at least) just feels really abstract
OK
How the fuck do I S rank Homicide
On Youtube I see people full combo it but no matter how fast I go into the next stage I can't keep the combo, the elevator fucks it up. And I was right next to it.
Also, Moving Up. Been trying for that for a while. Best combo I got so far was 19 16 1 with the bear mask.
>tfw went straight from C- to S on First Blood
Mario is abstract.
u are a retard
sunshine's controls are worse
Go on
>let's just leave this abstract debug test level in the game
Bowser level is even worse. This game was such a blatant tech demo.
...
I love these but am sad because Noone will ever find a picture without the fold in the middle
A flooded town
BUT FIRST
Yeah, that level and rainbow ride did feel like a bunch of random, unrelated objects floating in a lake of fire/the sky
Alright. I hope DLC 2 lets you recruit Sidon, Riju, Teba, and the faggy Goron kid.
ruins around a flooded town
last one I have. post the others if you have them
So what the fuck is the chain-chomps area and rocks supposed to be? Like some sort of cave? It never really felt like it belonged in the stage in the first place.
>M64 diorama
I was more referring to the main area, not the downtown
BEST LEVEL
That could also apply to Wet Dry World and Rainbow Ride
I wouldn't even know how to begin copying this. Is it clay? Actual rock?
wait I lied
I like Snowman's Land
Homicide S is pixel perfect. You have to die and retry a lot to get the perfect shot on the guy before your combo wears off. You have to be very fast and not stop moving like, at all to be close to the elevators when you kill the last guy of the first floor and then instantly shoot the first guy by hugging the walls on the left but it's harder in game.
Kys
And I'm a drone, so you should kys double for even thinking this
I liked how creative some of the level entrances got.
>a tiny cage found inside a ghost in the backyard
>an inexplicable pool of oil in the basement
>a seemingly random wall in the basement
>The only actual painting in the basement, a portrait of a demon
>a wall of water in the basement (what the fuck was up with Peach's basement)
>a blank wall that had a reflection of a painting in the mirror
>a clock
...
which world had the scariest skybox?
>I do believe that SM3DW is what SM64 should have been; a 3D reimagining of the 2D platformer
The devs said they purposefully designed thr levels around exploration, because the players natural instinct when enteting a 3d level was to explore, not go straight for an objective.

This guide is pretty cool. Does anyone know what the full guide is called (or have a scan)?
A lot of the levels are a lot smaller and more abstract than I remember them being
...
woah
I thought the remake was faithful to the original source material. A little more color to the palette wouldn't have killed them, but that's neither here not there. What else do you want to talk about?
>even in diorama form, rainbow ride's still just a bunch of random crap floating up in the sky
...
>never played super mario 64
>it looks like trash graphic in this day and age but have seen people do some cool stuff with it
>my laptop can't handle emulating it without lag
fuck
is this loss?
Beta Mario content thread?
Were Hazy Maze Cave and Tick Tock Clock the only regular courses with no skybox?
play it on virtual console
These dioramas are very Pikmin-esque.
I hacked my wii so yeah there's that
It's a jail for prisoners of war. The chomp is a guard dog in case someone tries to get close or get out. They have no prisoners at the moment so they used it to lock up one of the stars.
that brings back memories i never had
It's a harsh world, dawg.
You should seriously play it. It's simple fun but it's a classic for a reason. Plus you can beat it in a day. Protip: don't 100% it
wait a minute, that mushroom
This what I thought when I originally saw that on Odyssey's map.
...
I liked how the cage actually has the house inside it, you don't teleport to a far-off world like it seems with the other entrances, instead you're just running around in the cage
Where can I buy one of these?
HOLY SHIT...
When do you think we're gonna explore Delphino and beta Dinossaur Island in the game? I think it will be a post game feature/collecting all moons, like Yoshi in 64
Do you think they came up with Galaxy just by looking at this cover?
beta Dino Island is the Mushroom Kingdom, so it'll probably be late-game. Delfino might be post-game
...
...
>worst 3d Mario
>best game ever made
Doesn't work that way.
How about Cloudy Court Galaxy?
Ok, we will once it comes out
What about Final Fantady 7 do you wanna talk about?
...
Odyssey gonna compete, but idk how anything could top mario 64 :o
Tech demo-shill fags makes Sup Forums so exhausting to sort through. Please just kys
>Tech demo-shill fags
What?
