So I'm thinking about buying a PS4

Mainly for N. Sane Trilogy and NieR: Automata. What other games are worth my money?
And no, can't play new games on PC, currently I own only a laptop.

Currently my newest console is PS2 and I also own a PS1.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Essentials:
Uncharted 4
Uncharted Lost Legacy
Bloodborne
Nioh
Persona 5
N Sane Trilogy

Good but no console seller:
Infamous Second Son
Until Dawn

If you got the money and the exclusives look good to you of course you should get it.

Honestly get an xbone if you don't have a pc and it's your first timeplaying videogames.

Sup Forums won't admit it but everyone on ps4/xbone play the exact same games (cod, gta, fifa, battlefield, skyrim, fallout, minecraft) and the xbone is better in lots of little ways.

Maybe, but I want specifically N. Sane Trilogy. That's the main reason, really.

Bloodborne

>buy a console with literally no exclusives

...

>Honestly get an xbone
stop shilling

Fair enough, it is expected to get ported though.

>Sup Forums won't admit it but everyone on ps4/xbone play the exact same games (cod, gta, fifa, battlefield, skyrim, fallout, minecraft)

>Xbone is better in lots of little ways
I literally don't know what you are talking about.
The OS is slower and recording/taking pics is faster and just better on PS4.

Guys, OP here, I'd really like this thread to stay free of console wars, thanks.

Bloodborne seems to be fine, Persona 5 too, I'm not really into Uncharted though. Maybe some games that are console exclusives, available also on PC?

Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash

Looks better than Splatoon

pic related is my collection. I've loved everything desu, I even liked The Order, even though it wasn't amazing.

what games do you like user?

Persona 5
Ratchet and Clank
Bloodborne
Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy
The Last Guardian

cheaper, better online/controller, backwards compatibility, crossplay, better "free" games with multiplayer, share games with pc if you eventually get one

The graphics thing is true though.

>get the less powerful console if you want to play multiplats

This is what I have on PS4

You actually picked my interest.

I like platformers like mentioned N. Sane Trilogy, stealth games (Dishonored 2 maybe?) and the ones with interesting mechanics. Oh, and I like games with typically anime'ish graphical style, I think that might also help.

Thanks for pointing all these out, but at this point I'm pretty much decided that my next console is gonna be a PS4.

The Xbone is definitely a better console than the PS4, but it has no fucking games. You're stuck playing multiplats and at that point it's better to just save up for a PC.

If this is Splatoon for the PS4 I'm getting it ASAP.

The only games on the Xbone that caught my attention are Sunset Overdrive and Cuphead. Everything else is whatever

fuck these marketers
buy a wii u
through hacking you get literally every single nintendo console in it except for 3ds and switch. native support for gamecube and wii too (which is compatible and better for more games than emulation)
also wii u has like 10 more good exclusives than the ps4 despite only being out for a year longer, and got good games up until last march.
ps4 is not a good idea. i own one and wish i didnt. if you want a third party machine, get an xbonex when it comes out. even an xbone s would be better than having a ps4 because you get all those pc/win exclusive games that are really solid and since you dont have a capable pc it is especially worth it

Just save and get a PC. 8th gen is garbage, far too much overlap with PC, not enough exclusives.

These are PS4's exclusive games.

KAT'S GAME

>through hacking you get literally every single nintendo console in it except for 3ds and switch.
You could also just get a PC and do the exact same thing.

I bought a PS4 a week ago for Bloodborne, Persona 5 and a couple of upcoming games. Both Bloodborne and P5 are brilliant, in my Top 10 of all time.

>I bought a 360 last week for Gears and Skyrim, both are in my top 10 of all time.
This is what you sound like, you're just buying FOTM games and gushing over them.

For some reason this is the only sports series i really like.
And i'm european so i'm going against my FIFA genetics.

I think that list might be a little bit outdated, but I may be wrong.

Probably, but I don't want a Wii, I really want a PS4, probably also out of nostalgia for my old PS2 and PS1. And I want that Crash Trilogy so fucking bad.

Yeah, Persona looks really nice desu, might decide on buying it.

One more thing guys, how's Final Fantasy XV on PS4? Is it any good?

I also started playing games again in this generation.
I really like Nioh. I have heard nice things about Persona 5, but still didn't buy it...

I have been away from gaming for over a decade and recently came back (yes, I'm old). Can anyone explain why PC gamers nowadays are like those religious fanatics who want to convert others? Back in my day, we had PCs and consoles...

Skyrim wasn't a 360 exclusive.

If its missing much its 1 or 2 games that released in the last couple months. 8th gen consoles just have fuck-all for exclusives unless you want to dive into the digital-only $5-20 indie game realm, at which point its still pretty bad.

Yakuza 0
Bloodborne

Final Fantasy XV is pretty decent though it does this weird thing where it has this big open world but you are still forced onto a linear path

>Back in my day, we had PCs and consoles...
Because back in your day, consoles were still worth owning if you had a PC, they strill had lots of good exclusive games and weren't trying to be near-identical multiplat machines.

I owned Genesis and SNES, N64 and PS1, all the 6th gen consoles, all the 7th gen consoles, but Wii U is the only 8th gen console I bought, and it was still disappointing.

PS4 and Xbone simply have an embarrassingly low number of exclusive games, they share the vast majority of their libraries with one another and PC. And by buying these awful consoles, you're just ensuring we get more of the same, more ports, re-releases and multiplats you don't need the console to play.

>picked
Piqued, user.
EDF 4.1 is cheesy fun. Warframe is an OK F2P.

have fun with loads of broken wii and gamecube games
also wii u emulation isnt there yet
i encourage pc over wii u but this person wants to get a console
seriously save for a pc if you have ps2 and ps1 nostalgia. play all that stuff through emulation. ps4 is going to disappoint you. the only good remakes it has/is getting so far are nsane trilogy, ratchet and clank, and shadow of the colossus.
however, if you do end up getting one, go for the following games
>bloodborne
>yakuza 0
>ratchet and clank
>nsane trilogy
and do some research for these to see if you would enjoy them
>gravity rush 2
>persona 5
>nier automata
and persona 5 isnt a ps4 exclusive

And P5 isn't PS4 exclusive

To this day I still dont know what racing game to get asude if Wipeout, I already know that NFS and that The Crew are shit because I played them on someone else's console, but Im still stuck choosing between:
>Project CARS 1 or 2
>Driveclub
>Dirt
>Forza Horizon
>Dirt 4 or Rally
>Gran Turismo Sport
of course, taking in account content, I dont want 10 tracks for a gorillion dollars

KNACK 2 BAYBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Semantics. That's like calling BOTW a port.

>>Project CARS 1 or 2
Should be avoided purely on principle, shit-tier devs who leave shitty, broken games behind and make a sequel instead.

OP here, I'm posting rarely, mostly lurking and I'm fucking sure that I didn't write that "desu" there. WTF?

I see. Okay, thanks friend.

I like linear games, so that's not a problem for me. I also love it's graphical style and pretty much like its' fighting system from what I've seen. So I guess that means it's for me, thanks.

So as for now, I think about getting:
- N. Sane Trilogy
- NieR: Automata
- Persona 5
- FFXV
- Nioh
And maybe:
- Bloodborne
- Ratchet and Clank

Any other suggestions than already mentioned? Is the field of choosing really that narrow that 10-15 games are being mentioned over and over?

Yeah, don't want car racing ones.

>Stating that words mean what they mean is semantics

BOTW is not exclusive, P5 is not exclusive.

The new Prey
Horizon Zero Dawn
Gravity Rush one and two
Evil with in
Technomancer (its a 6/10 game that did the best with what it had and i loved it)

>Is the field of choosing really that narrow that 10-15 games are being mentioned over and over?
Yes, 8th gen is awful.

I'm quite satisfied with my PS4.
It has most of the AAA PC games and good exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Bloodborne, the Uncharted series, eventually God of War. And I'm sure the Xbox also have some exclusives.

This religious PC MUSTARD RAIS thing is annoying.

t b h is autocorrected to desu, mods are silly
anyway that's a pretty solid collection of games you have there anyway, with more to come. You'll be kept busy for a while at least, Persona 5 alone took me 100 hours

Yes, getting caught up in the definition is the very definition of arguing semantics.

Ah, I see. Expected it's something like that.

Well, if that's how it is, then all it's left is to thank you all for helping me, I pretty much chose now, I think that the thread is closed for my case.

skip ffxv and get hzd instead (worth mentioning that i dislike both but hzd is a much better open world than ffxv). swap nioh and bloodborne. then you are good

See, it's fine to be satisfied, but you need to stop pretending that stating the objective fact that PS4 and Xbone share 95% of their libraries with PCs that objectively run the games better is
>HURR-DURR mastar rayce XD

If 8th gen consoles didn't suck complete shit and had enough exclusive content to be worth buying, I'd be recommending them. Sorry consoles shit the bed this time around and offer next to nothing a PC doesn't.

>And I'm sure the Xbox also have some exclusives.
Xbone has seven exclusives. That's right, seven (7). A single-digit number. And PS4 isn't much better, as seen here
Fewer than 20, with some being import-only. Wii U has 30-40 but lost some recently.

>Wow, what a cute dog!
>That's a cat
>lol semantics :3

No, its not arguing semantics if you're factually incorrect.

>What other games are worth my money?

I spam this pic a lot but they are my legit choices.

Half are on/coming to PC tho, and I absolutely would not recommend Horizon to OP, it sounds like he enjoys actual games.

>offer next to nothing a PC doesn't

And how many great PC exclusive games have been released lately? Divinity: Original Sin 2 and that's it? Maybe the Total War series? How many of the big games released in the last couples of years are not in the PS4 or the XBOX. Not to mention that consoles are much cheaper than a gaming PC.

So what is the point of your religious fervor if your alternative is not really superior to the others?

And those exclusives I mentioned are enough to get a PS4. Just like the Switch will likely have good exclusives.

Not OP but I bought a PS4 today because of four of those games already got Nier on Steam and I'm not so interested in FFXV

I don't understand why everyone keeps recommending Uncharteds. I played through the first 3 and some of 4, but aside from the cute Indiana Jones vibe, it's vastly overrated and I never found them anything more than mediocre games.

OP doesn't have a PC

DO NOT get hzd, ffxv, and the last guardian. they are awful games.
p5, nier, and nioh are too niche to recommend.
you are awful at recommending games, user. you come off as a shill.

>Half are on/coming to PC tho

who gives a fuck.

>p5, nier, and nioh are too niche to recommend.
What did retard mean by this?

>p5, nier, and nioh are too niche to recommend.
what the fuck

Bloodborne, Nioh, Destiny 2, splurge for Uncharted 1, 2 ,3, 4 and idk man if you're into cars get Project Cars 2/Gran Turismo Sport and if you're into sports then get sports games.

Sorry bub, PS3, Wii and 360 had dozens of exclusives. PS2, XB and GC had dozens of exclusives. PS4 and Xbone do not, and will not. That's all there is to it. Switch already has as many exclusives as Xbone, and its only been out a few months.

EDF 4.1 is great, Warframe is fun for a while, but is just le grind or pay game after the novelty has worn off

They're Nintendo and Playstation exclusives respectively.

He also doesn't have a PS4, what's your point?

>p5, nier, and nioh are too niche to recommend.

This doesn't answer my points. The PS4 exclusives are really good and it plays most of the AAA PC games. So, why should I spend much more money but not have Nioh, Bloodborne, etc? For slightly better graphics that I won't even notice?

>DO NOT get hzd, ffxv, and the last guardian. they are awful games.

objectively (along with MGSV) some of the best shit this gen.

In your opinion. On the contrary, PC offers very few exclusives that I like.

Nioh is coming to pc?

The point is that OP explicitly said that he's not getting a PC, and you're just shoving your PC mustard race sensibilities in the thread
Not like there's any point in any more discussion anyway, thread is basically over

If the game is available to purchase on more than a single platform, its not exclusive. The fact that you had to add that qualifier proves my point.

MK8 is not exclusive, Pokken is not exclusive, BOTW is not exclusive. Doesn't matter who owns the platforms.

i disagree on all of these fronts except backwards compat.
Shareplay on ps4 makes it miles better than xbox as you can play all couch-only co-op games online

FF XV, Nier and...?

>This Kia gets me to work at Burger King just fine, why did you MORONS spend more on something better?

Again, if consoles were still worth buying like they were until 8th gen, I'd recommend them. If a console is just as shittier PC with exclusive games I can count on a single hand, why get the console? Get the better experience, why wouldn't you unless you literally couldn't afford it?

P5 is on PS3 and is emulatable now. Only difference between the two versions is the resolution.

FFXV is coming to PC, Nier is on PC.

Don't think OP would like Horizon if he doesn't like Uncharted.

Better yet, get both. Buy used consoles and sell them once you've finished the exclusives.

>FF XV, Nier and...?

hey guys stop buying nier it's coming on PC. game sell like hell on the PS4
hey guys stop buying FF XV it's coming on the PC. game sell like hell on the PS4
hey guys stop buying Crash it's coming on the PC. game sell like hell on the PS4
hey guys stop buying P5 it's coming on the PC (via emulator). game sell like hell on the PS4

the lack of basic dignity from PC racing spammers is disheartening

Not an official release obviously but you can emulate P5.

Let me guess, it only counts when CEMU does it?

Sup Forums has a wiki of recommended games for every system, you might find some ideas here:
vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki/PlayStation_4

Well, sounds like OP can't afford both, that's probably why he's asking about consoles in the first place.

Please. Persona 5 runs like ass even on high end PCs. It'll come eventually though, I'll agree with that.

OP already thanked me for my PC recommendation, stop getting offended on his behalf.

I myself really enjoyed The Last of Us Remastered, but have recently switched to xbone. Great game tho, one of my favs

I have both a PS4 and a Switch. Don't mistake me for a fanboy.

>Let me guess, it only counts when CEMU does it?

Actually yes. come on that's a softball, Zelda plays the same on the WiiU and the Switch.

And what is the advantage of PC? Slightly better graphics I won't notice. Gameplay is the same, story is the same, music is the same.

>Not like there's any point in any more discussion anyway, thread is basically over
Right, because the tiny handful of worthwhile PS4 games have been mentioned a dozen times already, nothing left to recommend beyond suggesting he get a better machine to play games on.

>recommended games
>ayliens isolation
>fucking assassin's creed
>a batman game of all things

A machine which won't have those great games, won't have exclusive AAA games and will cost much more. Wow, how great.

Wii U/Switch BOTW are about as different as PS3/PS4 Persona 5. CEMU BOTW is also bugged to hell. They only JUST fixed the compendium bug where pictures you took wouldn't show.

More games, eternal backward compatibility, modding, free online play, choice of input device, objectively better performance (which does affect gameplay)

It just won't have Bloodborne :3

Here's what OP should do:
>Buy used PS4
>Buy all the games he wants to play used
>Play them
>Return both the console and games
>Build a PC instead
There, he gets to play the two or three worthwhile PS4 exclusives and isn't stuck with a paperweight he'll have to replace again in a few years when he's done!

Also fuck paid online.

>Wipeout Omega Collection
>Dying Light/The Following edition
>Doom
>MadMax
>Fallout 4
>Witcher 3 GOTY edition
>Star Wars Battlefront
>Resident Evil 4
>Resident Evil Origins Collection
>Resident Evil Revelations 2
>Metro 2033/Last Light Redux
>Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin
>Dark Souls 3
>Bloodborne GOTY edition
>Just Cause 3
>Last of us remastered
>Driveclub
>Farcry 4/Primal
>Battlefield Hardline
>GTA V

It just occurred to me how shit-tier my collection is considering I've had the console since Black Friday 2015.

>More games
Which AAA games released in 2016/2017 are PC exclusives?

And PS Plus lately is being worth it for the games they are giving (such as Infamous Second Son, which is an exclusive, by the way).

>bloodborne PS4 = 30FPS
>bloodborne PC = 0FPS
wow great performance jk

Not going to argue that any of these games are bad, but almost every single one is a multiplat.

Get a PC, OP.
