Why? The DLC episodes so far have added zero depth to the story or to the characters, and nobody wanted or needed the Comrades Multiplayer and the Assassin's Creed event. No amount of updates containing 12 gb worth of cutscenes is going to fix the script, never mind this game's other problems.

That's cause Nomura had no fucking idea what he wanted to do with it. At one point he wanted to make a musical. Nomura is an ass director and Kingdom Hearts is proof of it.

But that dosn't happen till like 20+ hours in to the game when you're given enough mechanics to play with in combat to have it be more then just spamming shit.
I'm not going to say it didn't get betting half way thru for the combat, but why the fuck wasn't it like that from the get go? And with the story being such a slog, who wants to get that far anyways.
XIII was the game that ruined JRPGs for me, I have a hard time picking up any since :/
Believe me, my brother got him and myself a copy each one day one alongside the season pass for himself (which I would get for myself shortly into the game before the monotony settled in), and I even installed both of our copies to our respective PS4s.
He didn't even get halfway through the game, and i've beaten just about everything in it and still loathe it. I feel bad for his wallet back in November, and for the $25 I wasted on a season pass of shit.

I don't think you understand. The very design of XV's story and gameplay is bare-bones as fuck. For FFXV to be "finished," these elements would need to be completely reinvented.

Well, yeah. They're adding missing cutscenes and the direct has stated they'll take either part of or all of next year(He was unclear) to add in things players thought was missing, while also working on a next-gen title.

Playing ff13 optimally takes more effort than any other game in the series. It's a lot of fun if you actually shoot for 5 stars and do post game stuff. The mash X thing applies to nearly every FF for the record.

I bought day one and had my fun, I also got the season pass so all the content that already came out + ignis is mine.
I think the difference is I'm a gameplay over story guy. I had more fun dicking around exploring and monster hunting than watching the story unravel and that goes for almost all vidya save for xenogears and a handful of others.
The new updates is more content which I always welcome specially with the rad PC version on the way.

9 was okay, but the cardboard characters (looking at you """Dagger"""), and aganizingly long battles due to needing to steam so much of the assets off of the disk on the fty. That said, it is a really pretty game.
By the time 10 hit, the game was full on on rails, and I just stopped caring for the series.

If they just ported Kingdom Heart's combat to XV, even something like 1's combat, I feel like I would have found XV to be at least decent.
buy it now. seriously. waiting for a complete edition is a bit of a meme. due to the nature of the game it is pointless to add anything. the DLC have all been a waste. it's a fine game for what it is, bought it day one, playing it still for the timed events (~140 hours). you will only really understand once you play it but just trust me there is no reason to wait.

I've actually had fun with the gameplay of all mainline FF except 2 post intro. This game had an interesting action based combat that integrated the super flashy presentation FF games have but gave you more direct control of your character and it worked out well. My only issue is the magic system being so monster hunter bomb tier and lack of 60 fps(i.e consoles).
If you don't like the action gameplay because it's not DMC or because it's not turn based then that's fine because it's your opinion but the combat system worked well and had a degree of polish. Either way I don't think the combat is what was considered broken about the game and plenty of people had fun with it.

It's pretty good. The graphics are incredible. The gameplay is... interesting. I dont know if I like it or hate it. it's weird. The music is good. The story is cheesy and overdramatized but that's OK cause it's a JRPG and about what you would expect, so on the whole it's pretty enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the game. And while you guys scream and rage and bitch and moan, I'm here playing through it for my second time, thoroughly enjoying the story, the characters, the gameplay, and the soundtrack.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Comrades expansion beta turned out to be a Monster Hunter style multiplayer game. I'm fucking pumped for it.
Comrades is practically a separate entity. You're literally making your own characters.

I liked KH 1 and 2 but I like that FFXV had a more RPG like feeling with different weapon types/fighting styles, different armors with various stats, a talent/skill tree, larger party and more control over all of those things for your party members.
He can have his personal tastes, but could be a lot more refined if he played more vidya. Nothing wrong with branching out, and I don't care if you liked the game, but if you think FFXV is even the epitome of what JRPGs have to offer you really should work on expanding your horizons.

But i'll tell you, i don't like the game and it's my own opinion, it's a butchered waste of potential, it's an already dead patient who's only maintained in life by a fucking machine and some people just want for the patient to embrace the sweet release of death and not see him suffer anymore.

I just want them to move on. I liked the game for what it was, I really did, but they really need to let it go. In retrospect so much of the game felt unfinished or rushed that it feels like the game would need a complete overhaul to make it good. The updates so far have been slow and quite meaningless. I should feel happy that they want to fix XV, but I just don't see it getting much better than it already is. I feel like resources would be better used to finishing FF7R or just toward XVI.

Appearances by all the 15 characters who are still alive.
Keep in the basic ideas 15 had, like action combat, camping and driving, but improve them.
Off world driving from the start with multiple vehicle options, combat that isn't just holding down a button etc.
