2.Inafune is a business man who was sabotaging the Mega Man franchise as part of his plan to "kickstart" his own success
3.Inti Creates developed terrible games only liked by a vocal minority
4.Mega Man was never really that popular to begin with

I'm not sure how that changes the question, considering it came out a year after Mighty No. 9.

Beck is actually pretty fun to play as in it, but the game has its problems. Namely that the customization system is incredibly clunky and slows the game to a halt if you actually bother with it. Also the complete lack of boss responses to their weakness beyond a green flash that was added in with a later update. They don't have a stun animation or I-frames so they tend to feel like damage sponges and a race to smash that fucking fire button as fast as possible.

It's definitely better and triple air dash feels great, but man the customization system could have been smoother; it's a chore to make changes to weapons after unlocking items. It feels weird that boss weaknesses aren't determined by different weapons like Flame, Drill, Missile, etc but by the attribute you add to it and said attributes are unlocked by playing the stages.
