Cube world was really interesting though. If it got updates more than once a century... if only.

That never happened though.

but cubeworld is still alive actually
Wollay is still developing the game with his wife and it's progressing well twitter.com/wol_lay?lang=fr

Nice lie, CIDF

How fucking long ago did I buy this?
I wonder if I still remember my login details.

too bad the genre is already dead

>non stop dick sucking for ME (which was subpar tb.h)
>this gets released out of nowhere, didn't even realize until months later
>never see any discussion about it anywhere, no one cares
what happened? it's an EA game, they always put millions into marketing.

nice, still works

...

Remember "Project Treasure"? Probably not.

...

>minecraft clone #72,974

wow

;_;

...

I have no idea about this game I have this image saved because it looks cool, I'm assuming the game doesn't live up to this pic.

what's the point if they only "release" update every 10 years

newfag

user.... I.......

Strife

What the hell, it's still in alpha?

>no user review
jesus that game looks cool

Can I get a quickrundown on tortanic?

They thought they were too big to fail. They were wrong. End of rine.

>someone made this
simply ebin my sides xd

Basically this game was hyped as the next World of Warcraft, and this was the perfect era to shit on BioWare, especially since they had released Dragon Age II earlier in the year and it was utter dogshit. When footage of The Old Republic came around at E3 and onward, it held the board constantly with shills defending the game and everyone else dubbing it TORtanic.
Then the game actually came out. It was plagued with more bugs and lag than most MMO launches. It played like an awful WoW clone with a Star Wars skin.

People still continued to defend it though, and Sup Forums said it'd just end up like all the others that tried to stand against WoW and go F2P. The backlash was huge, and EA hid the unsub button from the page.

Then there were the countless screencaps of Bioshills getting BTFO by the announcement a few months later that it'd be going F2P not a year after release.

The Sup Forums prediction of it being like the Titanic was spot on. So forever will it be known as TORtanic

END OF RINE
RINE END HERE

Because it was not very good and took a shit on the fans of the original game.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I liked Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. Not as much as the original Mirror's Edge, but I still had a lot of fun - enough fun to replay it twice.

Does ME:C suffer from the same problems as the first game? Namely, being short as fuck and level design taking a complete shit around halfway in?

The thing about Catalyst is that it's an open world with fucktons of sidequests, so you can dick around for literally hours just doing nonsense to earn EXP to level up and purchase new abilities for Faith (one of only a few things I didn't like about the game). If you stick exclusively to the main story, it's probably only about five or so hours longer than the original Mirror's Edge. The level design is a bit different, and they tried to change it up by giving Faith some kind of grappling hook device about a quarter of the way through (which makes no sense in a parkour game, but it's really fun to use), which lets you traverse the open world in a totally different way. The level design makes you think in a different mindset, because instead of just using parkour, you've got your grappling hook, your EM pulse to disable things like fans that can block your way, and so on.

its been in development hell since like 2013 basically they aren't working on it anymore

By all indications, marketing would have drawn negative attention more than anything

>?lang=fr

That looks terrible.

What's the rune ends here meme? I know it's from a forum post but what's with that? What made someone post that

it didn't kill wow but it went on to have a healthy playerbase and multiple expansions. and it wasn't that bad, quests having dialogue was actually quite good although a lot of the quests were boring. but it was nice having a main character with a voice and a personality you could roleplay.

bioware forum moderator stanley woo

>last post was in July 2
>not dead
lmao

It's kinda sad because a lot of effort was put into this game. I think it deserved to be much more popular than every pump & dump korean mmo

Hellraid....you were just to badass for this world... ENJOY OUR FUCKING ZOMBIE GAME KIDS!

If techland are the guys making Dying Light, the engine will be godlike

I always quite liked the style of Cube World actually
anyway I'm having fun with it at least :^)

I'm gonna be so happy when Wollay finishes this game.

Is that because you'll be dying of old age?

...

you mean your grandkids

more like it didn't happen

combat was shitty

you mean:

ITT: "I want that so bad"

This was worth it only for the pants-shitting fury of Miku-faggots. The tears shed when this was released could fill an olympic swimming pool.

FIVE FUCKING YEARS

The movement in Brink was actually pretty fun though

youtube.com/watch?v=D7KPMg5daWk

>reminding me that I actually wasted real cash money on this

Is Dirty Bomb still alive or did that die too? At least the rerelease lasted longer than two days.
Similar case of failed game being retooled into an almost decent game was Section 8 into Section 8: Prejudice.

Raiding in this game was the best and it was kinda stupid hard.

no pls NO
they fucked up the pvp and the whole evil faction maxed out pvp rank day 1 by scumming our NPC ai buildings and they refused to fix it all week and people were fucking bailing hard the whole week

not making this up

...

SUch a pity that this game is dead. Even if Wooly is working on it, it kinda doesn't matter if he never releases an update. By this point his reputation is trashed though.

>tfw I bought Minecraft, proceeded to not learn my lesson and bought Cubeworld too.
Fool me once...

...

should have bought terraria dawg

But Minecraft was ruined with too many updates. Cube World hasn't changed in five years. They have completely separate issues.

...

JET

They made it available world-wide recently, so the game got some fresh players.

The issue is the same at its core. Don't buy something when it's not finished, you never know what you'll end up with.

I'd disagree with that. Minecraft's issue was that it never fully fleshed out anything. Lot of the mechanics were half-assed or poorly implemented.

Its more a quality of the updates that was a problem and less the quantity.

More like is happening though.

>everyone on the Sup Forums threads bitched about water mages being op because they could self heal
>everyone using a ranger just had a crossbow and used AHK to spam right click
>everyone thought boomerangs were shit while I used them with lifesteal cubes to be literally invincible and rack up combos in the hundreds effortlessly

marblecake also the game

I'm talking more about the stamina bar, enchanting, potions etc. They felt the need to
keep releasing "improvements" to the core mechanics that actually made the game much worse to the point where the game today is distinctly less fun than it was.

Yeah, but again thats a quality issue. The amount of updates wasn't really a problem, it was that the additions weren't ever fully realized. Stamina in itself isn't a bad concept, but it hardly came into play. Likewise with Enchanting, potions and such came at such a late point in the game they were hardly handy.

All of that stuff could have been implemented better to enhance the game. However, the philosophy going into Minecraft was more akin to "Wouldn't it be cool if the game had.. " than putting any thought into how to make it work with the system, or adding further to it to improve it.

>But Minecraft was ruined
>Lot of the mechanics were half-assed or poorly implemented.
Kill yourselves

The ideas of improving the core mechanics was a good move since well, there is no real point too just add more blocks and shit when there are mods for all that stuff. But they improved the wrong stuff, instead of adding mechanics that never really went anywhere they should have fixed what they had. Make the combat and AI not ass, make the game and engine run better, add better modding support, that kinda stuff. The best they could have done would be to make it more as a framework for mods rather than trying to keep up with them.

Not an argument.

>literally pic related, the post

...

Nobody expects you to associate with 5 year olds. The community of Minecraft is vast and diverse.

nobody is talking about its community, illiterate retard

>Posts images of fanmade videos
>"nobody is talking about its community, illiterate retard"

imagine being a middle school dropout like this guy

>tfw my studio worked on this
>tfw theres a poster of it on meeting room wall just out of sight of the video conference camera

...

...

they have to change the name but I hope it still comes out

i did the same mistake, minecraft was good though this i didn't even play more than 10 minutes

...

Never ever.

It's actually officially releasing very soon. They're just testing and bugfixing at this point.

After the name change I think I lost quite a bit of my interest in this, I mean they already barely let you know the fucker was ever being devolved and now its even quieter than ever
